52 year old masshole here sending props to Jay for still doing his thing. 👊 I'm retiring and moving to FL near Bumsteads new gym haha. Life is good cheers.
Jay I met you in Nashville..(the 59 year old guy with the bench shoulder) you are awesome human being and common sense.. love the attitude with training as we age.. great points.. much love and appreciation.
Jay cutler don’t ever quit UA-cam man you are one of my favorite bodybuilders of all time I really think your cool and I’m 16 and I started training when I was 10 so I’ve been working out for 6 years and hard but recently I’ve been doing 1 min rest intervals what do you have to say about that like should I be resting long or short
If doing squats, or focusing super heavy/ more on powerlifting, longer rests are ok. Otherwise 2.5 min max some research suggest. 1 min rest is totally doable, especially for your age, and is good to get more time efficiency. You can even superset (so alternate, doing a different exercise for your "rest") opposite muscle groups (like cable push down combined with bicep curl).
The behind the back single arm cable raise is one exercise I never used to do until watching your content. That movement gives me a crazy pump every time! Thanks for continuing to put out fantastic content Jay. Shout out to Dave and his commentary as well.
i think the thing i learned the most from your channel is that sometimes you have to schedule gym time around life... and staying healthy is still important as you age always enjoy the relaxed behind the scenes style videos
Jay, you might not see this, but at 60 I am 5'7" 192 (natural) and 10-11% bodyfat. Home gym set up. Still use a lot of free weights, but bands are a HUGE assist, joint-wise. Training smart can yield a fantastic physique into the 60's, and maybe beyond (I'll have to get back to you in 10 years). You look amazing at nearly 51.
The issue is his arteries are covered in plaques... Think more about how your body looks on the inside... Jay can turn it all around... I am hopeful for him.
@@Dlindo8892 is your head so far is your rear end you could see the backs of your eyeballs? Look at what he eats. Are you so stupid and so incompetent and such a Moron that you think his LDL has been under 70 and total cholesterol under 150 all this time? I met him at a show. Nice guy to talk to. Nothing wrong with pushing him to do better and save himself... Look at how many bodybuilders had health issues... I met rich piana.. tried to save him and pushed him to eat better and stop putting bullshit in his body. Do I regret trying to save his life? NO. Nothing wrong with suggesting to him to try and do better, eat better, stop putting bullshit in his body and be a better role model. Truth. And no I am not a cardiologist. I don't have to be to understand that certain foods and putting bullshit in your body increases risk of plaques build up in arteries among other things.
Jay, love the shoulder routine. I have been using the seated dumbbell routines, but need to focus on those especially technique. I am 69 years young been training since I was a teenager. Still love to train. Keeps my head in the game of life along with keeping fit. Appreciate all you’re doing and thanks to Dave as well.
Awesome video Jay! Thank you for sharing it with us. You inspire me to go to the gym and work hard every day. I am almost 50 too and feeling great because of the workouts. All the best from Canada!
8:03 is good information… I was stuck for a bit wondering why I wasn’t seeing what I wanted on my body, I switched to a different protein without certain additions and boom, within a month I was seeing Mega results.
At the beginning when I started in the gym I was surprised by Ronnie Coleman and others, but as the years go by I believe that you are the best example to follow, a good physique, good health, humility and also a champion, I do not belittle the others but you are the best in this sport, even better than Ronnie, always using intelligence, I take my hat off to you.
For rear delts I've been doing - stand in smith machine with your back to the barbell, hands roughly shoulder width apart, lift as high as you can behind the back. Oddly enough this is the best pump I've been able to get for rear delts.
You're in great shape which is superb because of the business demands and other distractions of life. Way to go Jay!! Thanks for showcasing the lat raise machine.
I've been following your workout and food schedule/using some of your products and I've seen more muscle growth this past year than ever before, at the age of 50. Thanks for the motivation and all your helpful tips. Hope you enjoyed your cupcake. Keepin' it real.
Great to see you still posting videos Jay. Almost same age and certainly need to change training techniques and diet. Managed to lose 8lbs from my waist line just with a calorie deficit and healthier meals. Elbows and shoulders certainly need taking care of. Just trying to recover from some tender elbow and left shoulder joints right now. 💪 Keep well and stay safe
Always great videos. Going on 55 and am learning more and more flooding blood into the muscle so much more important than the actual weight ! Train for a pump now thanks to you and muscle volume is 👍
I did a 4 hour chest work out did straight bar on flat and incline bench with dumbbells on both and dips and pullups with light cardio and sit-ups and flys
What's UPPP CHAMP!! OUR MONDAY IS FUNDAY.... STARTS OFF OUR WEEK . I APPRECIATE YOU RECOGNIZING ME ON YOUR LIVE FEED THE OTHER DAY RIGHT, 👍 ITS COOL TO HEAR YOUR BUDDY N UR IDOLE SAY "HAY GUY'S, WHAT'S UP MATTY". IT'S FUNNY CAUSE I REPRESENT JAY CUTLER BRAND, WETHER IF IT'S HIS HAT'S OR T-SHIRTS OR HOODIE'S OR HIS SUPPLEMENTS. I JUST LOVE HOW HE DELIVERS THE MESSAGE AND THE WORKOUT FOR YOUR GOALS. HE IS OUT IN FRONT OF IT. JAY thanks pal for being you for 30+ yrs Since I started to follow u bro. Meals and all that ,I incorporated into my everyday life. 💪💯 #CutlerNation #MattyFromMass
Been watching and following you a long time jay your very inspiring mate thank you, I to am 57 ,love this sport keeps us young, Can you please look at your post fee’s to Australia it’s out of control which puts us off getting your tees and supps, Cheers Dave 💪💪💪💪💪
I think that we that are are over 50 are very rare, that are just looking forward everyday, to training. I can't wait to get home and train in My Garage gym. I have all the essential Equipment to Kill it. Love the Hot humid days. It is great for the Joints and keeps you lose. Keep Going strong! It is such a great stress reliever.
It's interesting you mentioned morning workouts being better, Jay. My schedule typically has me lifting in the evening but recent circumstances saw me at the gym early in the morning and I legit felt bigger than ever the next day. Might be something to it.
Thanks Jay 💪 as I get older I am now reading all ingredient labels trying to keep my food and products as clean as possible avoiding ultra processed food and additives.
at age 53 it certainly hasn't become any easier especially when i;ve dropped the ball as many times as i have over the years but i really do appreciate your inspirational and motivational talks as i'm trying to push forward with everything NOT to mention the mental health part of it...Thx Jay!!!!💪😎
You will always be a legend, an inspiration in my gym routine. There are even posters of you hanging on the wall of my local gym haha! Greetings from Chile, champion.
You do so many exercises per muscle that I can't keep up. I do bent over dumbbell rows for rear delts. I do those and curls and wrist curls and dumbbell squats every day. I do standing 60 lb dumbbell curls and I do concentration curls with a lower weight. I can bench 465 lbs on a Smith machine on a good day.
Jay, it's always good to see you and Dave collaborate on your videos. I aways learn something new from you on training. By the way how was the cupcake?
Definitely want to add the straight bar front raise!! And the crossover for rear delts! Keep it up and thank you for the motivation all these years. Big for 51 is looking good on you
Since you are in Vegas, I'd love to see you go over to the UFC gym, and let them test your mass, strength, and performance for your age, I think that would tell alot about your style of training over the years.
It's a journey in which you never stop learning, and can't thank you enough for the continued informative content. I don't think it's appreciated enough, and some don't realize that there's literally thousands of dollars and hours saved worth of information in your videos. You're one of the most genuine and humble to ever rule Olympia. Appreciate you, brother Keep grinding, champ. Right there with you 🙏🤛
Brilliant content as always Jay, thanks. I always pick up little tips and insight’s to apply myself. I know it’s not the most exciting of topics, and I know you do mention it, but exactly how much cardio do you do daily? Being almost exactly the same age, I’m wondering how much more I need to be doing to get nicely lean? Once again, thanks and keep up the great work. 👌🏼🙏🏻
Jay- Can you at some point give us your thoughts on a Keto and Carnivore diets ?? Not necessarily from a BB stand point but from a healthy living standpoint….thanks very much! 💪😀
I am unable to raise my arm over my head due to deltoid injury 😂 Resting is key.. I’m taking Glucosamine Sulphate supplements.. They seem to work well… Unable to stop ✋ training as I’m stupid 😜 due old habits die hard 💪🙏
Getting Old ain't for wimps. My Ortho Surgeon told me never do anything where your raising the shoulders past parallel, anything higher that that is asking for trouble. I asked him about swimmers and he said a lot of his surgeries were done on swimmers because of the rotation of the shoulder in the pocket.

I’ve been using the straps on the dual cable row machine… lying completely back on it and supersetting laterals with raises is insaaaane

You should do a Blood and Guts workout with Dorian Yates.
Jay my all time favorite body builder still legend looks great
I have benefited from how you do the dumbell side raise for delts. I'm 57 and I can see improvement doing your movement.
If i have a weak rear delts and im in a caloric deficit, is it smart to punish the rear or just wait until i finish from my cut ?
John meadows used to say,if you want big shoulders start with rear delts
Jay, do you have an Inversion Table?
It is very useful for the spine. Especially, for former professional sportsmen.
FULL TIME BODYBUILDER !!!!

Hey the full-time bodybuilders back Dave salute fam 💯💪💪💪💪
Woooooo! 💪
Jay what is your opinion on semaglutide?
I still have that flat part where my peck and shoulder meet by my arm pit.
