I had this on my daughters car. Symptoms exactly as you described. I fixed the problem by selling it with fault disclosed
It's a relatively simple fix but the problems it causes when daily driving are really dangerous so I can't fault you on that decision, I've had so many issues with this thing it damn near given me PTSD, but I bought it expecting issues
