JB would be fondly remembered for his many well played roles, but his Holmes characterization has moved him into the iconic and hard to match level of immortality!
Brett was the best Lord Goring ever! Rupert Everett did a fine job in the most recent film production of this, but no one can compare to the great Jeremy Brett.
I agree, Jeremy Brett was and still is the best Sherlock Holmes ever. Unfortunately, he died at the height of his career. I wish he could have done more films. It’s interesting to see a young Jeremy Brett. Looks like a theatre version of Jeremy Brett. I would think that he gained his perfection in the Sherlock Holmes series. 0:20-1:00 is a cute/sweet scene here. „Yes, my lord“

Of the 3 productions that I know of, I think Michael Wilding in the 1947 version, was either #1 or the "other", w Rupert Everett dead last.
Jeremy was also the best Max DeWinter in "Rebecca". Wonderful, gorgeous actor. Much Missed!
Vintage brew agree! The real Manderley’

" And are you still a bachelor ? "
" I believe so... "
Lol.
The compulsive and relentless self-conscious wittiness is too much.
