The funny thing about this song is that back then it caused a riot with the police as the police found it offensive when this man is clearly saying his song that his beat up his woman and make her eye black and blue promoting spouse abuse.... geesh lol. Regardless I remember seeing this video when I was kid.. and is still a wicked song and riddim. Watch Admiral bailey and King Jammys in the studio having fun lol
Not in support of violence against woman nor man. Having said that, the song is a massive hit. Actually, believe it was meant to be fun and no harm was intended. Love the beat and the vocals.
I concur, Trevino. The fact that it was not banned and was a very popular song back then, seems to mean that most people saw it as fun. I am sure you have subscribed. Thanks.
The way I see this is that anyone would get mad at her. She left little kids in the house by themselves. Not really, Hannah. That one was just for fun, and it was a hit as Echo was popular back then and the rhythm was also a hit.

Someone told me he is just saying she cheated on him with a police officer.

That ‘King Jammy’ producer fella looks utterly soulless/desouled nowadays. Why?
*edit unlike the happy man in the 1985 video
I am not understanding your question, especially the "... nowadays" part. This video was shot in the 1980s.
