I know why you want to use a charged Mega Buster on Bright Man before using the Rain Flush. Bright Man uses the Flash Stopper if he loses a SPECIFIC amount of hit points. It seems that the only way to break out of the Flash Stopper is to have him hit you.
Excuse me, did you just say mega man 2 has good weapons? No, no, it has awful weapons, some of the worst in the entire series. Alright, so, a mega man weapon is supposed to reward you for being creative by making certain challenges easier. What weapons follow that? Only one, time stopper. Time stopper is actually very useful in a lot of situations and it really rewards players for creativity. What about other weapons? Metal blade is both a boring buster replacement and it also breaks the entire game. One issue mega man 2 has is being easy as hell. One of the reasons why is the metal blade. I hate metal blade, it is my least favourite weapon ever. Whenever I play mega man 2, I do not use it. Bubble lead is actually useless. If you need to hit an enemy below you, use metal blade. Why use metal blade instead of bubble lead? Because metal blade does more than 0.1 damage. Also, there are a lot of enemies that bubble lead dings of of. Atomic fire. If you think that a weapon being required to not take damage in an otherwise impossible to pass situation is good weapon design. Then you'll love atomic fire. Atomic fire is useful ONCE in the entire game. To kill a sniper joe right before the gate to boo beam trap. Leaf shield. Ok, this weapon's name is just not true to what it does. First of all, it doesn't shield. That's right, a shield that doesn't protect you from projectiles. But that's not all. You would think that the weapon would still allow you to kill one hit enemies just by being in contact with them. You would be correct on that, however, here's this: it flies of when you move. Imagine a good shield like jewel satelite. What makes that weapon good isn't there for leaf shield. I have to say, it has, like, 5 uses in the entire game, which is quite a lot by mega man 2 standarts. It's useful for moles in metal man's stage and wily 2, it's useful while on lifts to protect yourself from tellies on crash man's stage and wily 3. And it's useful for protecting yourself from pipis on crash man's stage. Air shooter. This weapon doubles as a shotgun and a weapon that attacks enemies above you. Because metal blade exists this weapon is only useful as a shotgun, but in most situations, using metal blade from a far distance is way safer than getting right in the enemies' faces. There is one exception, joe armor, because metal blade dings of of them. Even against joe armors, most of the time it is just way easier to run under them, or like with heat man's stage, use time stopper. It's a useful weapon, against one enemy in the entire game. Crash bomber. Why... Why? It's just a bomb that doesn't do much damage. I'd argue you are better of using the buster at this point. And also, metal blade is just way better. Quick boomerang. It's just a buster replacement. It's in a way like air shooter, where the weapon is more effective if you are close to enemies. It's honestly a fine weapon, I don't mind it being in the game.
