    I know its been years, but how many feet and inches sleeping space from back to the passenger seat? Also, how much would you charge to do this if i drove out to you. I plan on hitting the road soon and traveling the country!

    How much did this build end up weighing and how much weight was saved by taking seats out?

    Nice to have a shop plus shop grade or better plywood. Weight before and after in vehicle would be interesting. 🤔

    What would it cost to build one for my 2012 FJ? I can pick it up. 😁 that is fantastic.

  • @patriotsleepercell4060
    @patriotsleepercell4060 8 місяців тому

    Poor FJ it will need 2000LB springs to hold up all that wood. 3/4" plywood for the drawers too? Needed a forklift to put it in the car.lolol

    • @orvsr4me2
      @orvsr4me2 3 роки тому

      The platform with the wings up was 6'0" I believe. Sorry but you would probably need the pillow to run up onto the folded seatback. I would bet it to be just too short for comfort.

    Awesome build, though can't help but notice the $thousands in labor expended - seems many $thousands. For the average person, it would not be justified, throwing ten grand toward a drawer/platform bed system.

    • @orvsr4me2
      @orvsr4me2 3 роки тому +3

    Really beautiful and illuminating work ! I'm beginning my own FJ build-out now very inspired. - I'm curious: why the double wall between the two drawer compartments (as opposed to just a single wall) ? And, is the bottom a thinner material? I mean, is it 1/2" where all else in the platform/drawer insert (not including dividers) is 3/4"??

    • @orvsr4me2
      @orvsr4me2 2 роки тому

      Sorry for the delayed response. I don't check here very often anymore. The double wall was an evolutionary design, initially so I could install the two sides independently. I did away with this in the next version as it isn't necessary. I used 1/4 for the bottom of this one, 1/2 on the next version but will both had advantages depending on the pull out tables. 3/4 (18mm) used throughout the structure elsewhere.
