- Bachman Manor is a Tudor style 14,796 square foot home on a 29.55 acre property. It was built in 1975 by Randy Bachman of the band Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) for 3 million dollars as a weekend retreat, though by the time it was finished it had become the family's primary home. The home was used as a recording studio for Randy and guests who stayed there such as Frank Sinatra, the Beach Boys, members of the Beatles, and rocker Sammy Hagar.
The estate as well as the property has had many upgrades since its original build. Bedrooms were expanded into luxurious suites, walls removed to reveal a more open floor plan with grand living spaces and historical features preserved. The chandelier, inspiration for BTO’s logo, still gloriously hangs in the front room.
The studio, where legendary tracks were recorded, maintains its chapel like quality.
An additional outbuilding equipped with a 9 car garage, bowling alley, and full basketball court were added, along with a large lake at the front entrance of the property.
Bachman-Turner Overdrive has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and are known for 1970's era songs, such as Let It Ride, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet, and Takin' Care of Business. Most of us are just grateful and humble to have a roof over our heads. This home is wonderful and beyond my imagination! I could not and never would complain about anything of this home! To have a home like this is a true blessing from God in my eyes! Be grateful!

Oh my.....what a lovely old fashioned home.....and that's ok. Even though a bit outdated....its still is absolutely luxurious, beautiful and has a true feeling of home! Even if I was a billionaire....I would leave it as is for another 40 yrs. because it is still beautiful.....and warm....a home!
I think it is a wonderful house, with a beautiful landscape but the interior of the house is dark; and all the lights were on..!! ... I may buy it in a thousand years..!!!

That's it, use Bachmann's music as inspiration for the tune. The home is powerful, however the last music drove the point too deep. People would pay for the provenance and music of the former owner. Let a future owner know the place could be an opportunity to make future uplifting memories of their own while enjoying sharing the homes' background. Unless there is something wrong with Bachman Tuner Overdrive.

Why such a deep cut in price?
Beautiful home, but you could sure lose your loved ones in it, as you have many living rooms to choose from. So many interesting areas, and family could spend a whole day walking around and just looking for each other! LOL
But overall love it, and it has such a rich and old world atmosphere. Loved the fireplaces and all the brick used and the family crest over the stove, also Red knobs on the stove. The couches and the walls and the stone, and everything used in the home, including the special chandeliers.
Love, love, love it. The knight in the hall though could scare me if walking around at night? My son, on the other hand, would love it! He took sword fighting and really likes this style, and era.

Just found out that this place sold for 1.9 million at the beginning of 2019. Just google Bachman estate and plenty of articles show up.
Well, we don't know what the state assesses the property as, it may be much higher than the selling price. If that's the case, the property taxes may be pretty high. New owners may also have to put millions of dollars to renovate and update the property.

Wow - I appreciate all the comments. Here is an update - it did SELL in 2018 for close to $2M - the new owner plans on updating the house and use the property for events, teaching and a corporate retreat of sorts. This is an AMAZING property - trust me. In Lynden WA.

Curious to know how they heated homes this size in '75. In-floor heating or forced air?
They have large forced air furnaces fueled by propane. There are also 3 large fireplaces. Back in '75, I am sure it cost a lot less than it does today.

But then again, that house is so huge, that ten, or more families can reside; and therefore, walking around in your undies is limited to your enormous bedroom and bathroom....

Why you are busy of shooting details while you do not give the important information? ex: the kitchen: We need to know the distance, the contents but you took a shoot for lion's head! try, when you shoot houses to give the necessary information. how many rooms, what the relationship between the rooms, how many floors and how many rooms in every floor...etc beside you use the drone in wrong way, the drone is used for only outside for panoramic shoot but inside you have to use shoulder cam or tripod.

This video is like a scene of a movie where the home owners are being hunted down by men in black masks in their own home. They're hiding in some closet or vehicle, praying. The value is there, but the price needs to be adjusted to fit the many upgrades needed.

It would be better if you did this as an actual walk through video. The jumping from frame to frame - room to room leaves one with no sense of the lay out of the home ....
If I paid that much for landscaping, I'd object to bare spots in the lawn. Nice exterior. Interior, well I guess even the rich can have poor taste. To dark, the furniture looked like in belongs in a Barbie doll house. The music was crappy.

The business side of this property makes would make that inappropriate, and it's not like everyone likes "small and cozy," anyway. A lot of the time, houses like this are made to make a good impression to business associates, and to entertain them.
