Steven Seagal is like the Ethan Klein of actors
As someone who loves guns and knows them fairly well, I can say Seagul’s “tactic” of switching hands while you switch cover is one of the most horrible ideas you could ever imagine.
Firstly switching cover is always risky because you are exposing yourself to gunfire in transition. That first point leads to the second point; if you must transition to new cover, the last thing you want to be doing in a vulnerable state is to not be able to immediately return fire if you’re receiving fire. You want to keep your threat’s head down, especially when in transition. You can’t do that while changing hands in the middle of the most vulnerable state you can find yourself in in a gunfight.
Also, pro tip on the use of cover. When firing from cover, do not hug your cover, stand a foot or two away, facing your cover and then lean out to return fire. This allows you to engage targets efficiently while exposing as little of your own silhouette as possible.
Video game rules though, if you're not touching the cover it doesn't shield you as effectively.
Have you seen how he "shoulders" a carbine? Steven Seagal doesn't even aim. His paper targets are contractually obligated to move into favorable positions for higher point shots.
Very interesting post. I'm a taekwondo dude, and here in viking land Denmark it's the closest you get to "weapons". I'm not even allowed to carry a pocket knife unless I have a good reason. If I'm in a pub, just a tiny pocket knife is illegal....and btw if someone breaks into my apartment at night, I don't defend myself. LOL yes I'm aware that Denmark is the best country in the world to live in year after year, but we really have some weird law's up here in the north.

I am not a firearms expert, but his insistence on switching hands mid fight or whatever sounds so damn wrong. He does it in several of his films, including that sniper one. In that movie, it's so bad because the gun is large and it's so obvious when he switches and it looks so incredibly stupid.
