- Pearl’s project is getting back on the making and the first part in the head stock gear box is the second in line shaft we found to be messed up. I set up the dividing head on the K&T for the spline cutting and start milling the root of the spline areas.

Errr, are you living in America then ?. It's hard to tell. All those machines to accomplish what they do in India, with a mushroom headed, rusty hammer that's been in use for 2000 years and a pair of sandals held together by string and faith. And they all do that while knee deep in swarf and muck...... Sorry, Keith, I've got a twisted sense of humour. Greetings from England, if you are still with us. I watched your shows for years, and it encouraged me to set up my own little workshop cum garden shed with Machine Mart bench top lathe and milling machine on which I spent many a happy time until my health deteriorated. At least I've lasted far longer than the Chinese junk did.

I love coming to channels like this because I'm interested in machining. I love it when the channel expresses its views based on machining and not other subjective topics. There was this one channel I loved that started showing signs of white supremacy and when I pointed it out, I was condemned by the channel viewers that I should join their views and not machining. I left that channel. I'm only interested in machining and am not interested in other opinions that have absolutely nothing to do with machining.
If signs offend you please move on. It is our right to express ourselves in any way we feel necessary. There was a time when it was considered normal but in todays political climate your a racist for doing so. You can effect change by ignoring the bias but if you cant get past a sign its in your best interest to move on because were not changing because your feelings are hurt. This is America, we love our country and hope you love it as much as we do. If you do, then support us in support of our constitution.

What would work well for setting your for right to left is a jig under the new tail stock. Is a set of fine thread, going under the new block to make the adjustments easier.

Yeah Keith , in the day I have also made a mistake(or 2) with using a dividing head & sector arms ....a few unprintable words & the odd dent appears on the wall.😅
Since you have a surface grinder, it might be a hassle but could you radius a grinding wheel to shape the bottom of the spline, or MAYBE even the bottom and the sides?
