Saw him last night at Bristol's Redgrave Theatre. He was as brilliant as ever. Met him a few years back and he's so down to earth and modest. Just as you would expect.
He played Stroud (really!) a few weeks ago, missed him, I was so p'd off! I rate Albert up in the Jimmy Page and, dare I say, Jeff Beck class. Nobody could play like Jeff and the same could be said of Albert. Long may he stay with us
There are a few musicians that must have arrived from another planet. Holdsworth, Oscar Peterson, Bach, Zappa, Heifetz… Albert Lee must have been on the same flight 😊
Stunning guitarist, unmistakable, his solos are very special and, in my opinion, very difficult to perform for their speed and accuracy. I think even for a professional guitarist it is not easy to play this type of solos at his speed. Great Albert, one of the most talented guitarists in the world
The thing with Albert Lee which is really unique and what a lot of people don’t realize is that he’s not just got great technique and speed. The biggest thing that makes him stand apart from other players is his ability to improvise and play complex fast runs that join together seelessly and completely differently every time he plays a song. the endless ideas that he produces with speed fluency timing and swing is never the same on any song. I am not sure how he does this because lots of guitarists can learn a solo or a challenging piece of music note for note by copying it, but Albert will play it different every night and it will sound incredible.
I beg to differ. Compared to the Teles he used to use it's awful. Thin and dull. A Tele is the only instrument for Albert's style. Course, he's paid a lot of money to play the Music Man, but to me it's a great shame.
Music Man guitars have incredible necks!!! Killer playing would love to hear a pedal steel player in the mix. It'd sound like the flaming guitars of Jimmy Bryant and Speedy West!!!
Guaranteed he does. I have a Tele and a Music Man Axis sport (among some others, G&l, Ibanez etc.). I did own the Albert Lee at one time though. Sadly had to sell it for financial reasons. Music Man guitars are as good as it gets! I've owned everything and their craftsmanship, wood quality, hardware, and attention to detail is second to none. I bought a 2002 Axis Sport last summer (2018). I emailed Music Man with the serial number and the next day I received an email that said "Your guitar was completed on June 4 2002, it's Trans Gold HH". Try to do that with Fender. I vow to one day own the Albert Lee again. The best feeling necks I've ever felt!!!
Just one of the best that's been ! seen him live a few times and he never disappoints ! Such a humble man as well !
Even Eric Clapton said " Albert Lee is the very best guitar player under the sun". A monster in his trade...
Albert is fantastic. He makes it seem so easy.
It is easy... If you are Albert Lee 😂
Deserves an up to date comment. Saw Albert with Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings a few years back ...Brilliant!
Nigel Pugh Also saw him with the Rhythm Kings. Great night! Looking forward to seeing him in Halifax in October!
Albert Lee, just as good a singer and pianist as a guitarist,,,,,, what absolute talent!

He is down to earth...I met him once at his favorite bar near Los Angeles (in the valley) where he was playing and he signed my guitar...
@@danielkent2566 I envy you. All I got signed was a CD although I do own a number of guitars. Next time he's on I might just take a pickguard with me.
Met him in 2017 . Got to talk to him backstage. He is such a nice guy and so much down to earth.

Shades of Les Paul and Mary Ford memories are many thanks
That's because it's exactly Les' arrangement.
@@richsackett3423 you left out Mary Ford and she was excellent guitar player
What a genius. He displays a flow of creativity through an impeccable, clean technique.
Just bought his live dvd in Paris, top guitarist.
Love Albert Lee,s guitar playing
I signed in only to click the thumbsup button, and the website automatically begins replaying the video... what a wonderful world!
Albert Lee definitely one of the best, seen him live quite a few times. Such a nice guy too.
I play Albert Lee, Musicman guitars,. Nothing better!
Is it the guitar (pickups) or a pedal or the amp or combination that gives that ringing, yet warm sound?
He's certainly a talent above most
Thanks Albert.
There are a few musicians that must have arrived from another planet. Holdsworth, Oscar Peterson, Bach, Zappa, Heifetz… Albert Lee must have been on the same flight 😊
Probably the hardest working musician out there. Found out he was playing locally a few weeks ago AND I MISSED HIM😢

tabs and metronome
He might be one of the greatest of all time. I heard Van Halen mention him once. Shocked me.
Clapton too
One Dollar he played in Clapton’s band for a while, but he’s probably best known for being Emmylou Harris’ guitarist
Try Gary potter trio 12st rag

probably lots of listening, maybe not even to any lectures about the numerology of base twelve... active listening to music.
It's amazing. So long time i was founding this video.
After hearing an Albert Lee guitar track a 'Geordie' friend on mine came out with "Man, he's runnin' out of neck".
I love the headstock on his 7 string. Albert makes it 👍 greater.
He looks as shy and humble as is was in the hot band with Emmylou Harris! Still so young!
Too good for this world!
He has too much fun on that thing!
Born to do it
Awesome picking 👌
They shouldn't have let Albert play in a guitar shop. Who would think they could play guitar after listening to him?
Lmao...Ain't THAT the f'ing truth!!!
Me
Great Guitar!

The man's a genius
Not bad at all, my guess is he's been playing a little while.
You know, if he keeps doing this he's going to get really good one day!
Try, Gary potter trio 12st rag.

Terima kasih,sangat menghibur...👍👍🙏
Wonder how many people know that's Les Paul's arrangement?
INSANE
Brasil aqui
Hey, I guess this Albert guy knows how to play a bit of geetar :)
Great job Albert keep practicing another year or so you're almost there. LOL
Nice twangin Music Man, Tiger Rag never sounded better.
Who gives one about the guitar it's the player !!!!
your mom does!
I play guitar .but I lost him after 3 seconds.
Por qué le gustarán a este tío las guitarras que suenan a lata?
I thought I had accidentally left my playback speed at 2x when the video started dang
😂😂😂😂😂
Why dont you play on a Telecaster anymore ? They did sound match better than this guitar..
It should be against the law to have that level of talent. Makes me want to go burn my S*** in the backyard !
As the great Tommy Emmanuel once said, "don't blame the guitar"! 🤣
AL looks like a cross between Marty Feldman and Barry Manilow
And he plays guitar better than either of them.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Think if he practiced.
Is that a standard Stratocaster???
No that's a Music Man model. Albert uses the Music man model a LOT.
It's Albert's signature guitar by EB Music man
The best guide in America is not even doing it for making money the old fashioned way?
He plays a Musicman on stage . Its called ;"endorsements " .....BIG $ paid to High-end Artists.
I bet He still has a TELE @ home. lol

That MM sounds crap to me. It may be beautifully made and play well, but its tone, even in Albert's hands is crap compared to a Tele. Thin and dull.
it's ghastly but sounds ok i guess. Wheres his telecaster?
It's a bit hard trying to enjoy the performance when it's out of sync :/
that guitar is hideous
Sounds like shit next to a Tele!
