- In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. UA-cam earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:

I used to show the gifts as part of ' @The Chateau Diaries ' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us 💖💖💖

Michael has the most amazing talent for his poetry and words in general they are always such a treat to listen too, i am going to miss his special talent when cadeau stops. When Stephanie mentioned the cameo and i saw it the tears started to roll. In the 2nd world war my Uncle Douglas was stationed in Italy, when he came home he had items he had brought for the family, one of them being for my mother his sister inlaw, that was a cameo ring which i now own, the cameo stone is an amber/ chestnut tone background with the neutral cream face, but the most exciting thing about the face, that it is all one stone not the face glued onto the actual stone. How i know this is when my husband and i went to Venice we went into a jewellery shop that was on one of the bridges crossing the canal, i was wanting to purchase a cameo broach trying to get one like the ring, when the jeweler saw the ring he went into raptures and wanted to buy it from me right there for a price of my choosing, i of course said no and why did he wanted it, he was the one that told me it was the whole stone all in one not the face as i said glued on, when i told mum you could see the relief on her face that i did not sell it, i now have the cameo broach that my mum brought when she worked in a jewellery shop. I am now at a terrible time in my life where we think of who can we pass our treasures on to and who would appreciate them as a family heirloom, i have know one and hate the thought of what will happen to them.

Happy Birthday Stephanie you deserve endless joy and happiness xx a little tip about the orchids water them so sparingly I've had a Maroon coloured orchid on my mantel for over two years it bloomed for almost a year then the flowers died I ignored it the leaves stayed green then two weeks ago I just put an egg cup of water in the top and joy of joys it has bloomed again five stunning Maroon flowers I'm so happy xx so remember water sparingly xx ❤️

Happy birthday. Those long needles are for soft sculpture. I use them for dolly making.
The sewing box is stupendously beautiful. The really long needles are for making toys like teddies, they are needed for threading the eyes on. And the tweezers are for pulling thread through from the machine needle. I use mine for my overlocker as its very fiddly threading that. Happy Birthday Steph. I am a Leo too just celebrated 65th on 31st July. Don’t know how that happened. Xxx🏴

I am OBSESSED with those toile embellished boxes. If Stephanie the Elder made those and sold them on etsy in various fabrics (damasks, fortuny-esque, etc) I would buy them for pretty much anything lol.
The tweezers are useful when threading an overlocker. I think they would also be helpful in normal machine threading.

as a seamstress myself, i can answer the questions. the long needles are for tufting pillows or headboards etc. .the tweezers are to hlep put thread in a sewing machine needle for those who dont have deft fingers. the wooden handled tool is infact a tracing wheel for using tracing paper and copying a pattern on to fabric you cant pin. i hope thid answers the mysteries of the sewing tools :) happy birthday stephanie!
Yes! I also use tweezers to pull out the fluff or broken thread bits from the crevices of my machine when in the middle of a job (when oiling before starting or after, i take off cover plates and i turn it on it’s side to get below, etc, and take out fluff or debris then as well, but the tweezers reach into little holes when i can’t do that)

@doveleboeuf6625 don't settle for a day over 42. Aren't you amazed at how much La Lande looks like our bluegrass state? I live near Cumberland Gap, and after Stephanie's walk in the countryside today, it confirmed what I have suspected for some time. It's as beautiful there as it is here. She's a lucky woman, or anyway, she has made her own luck. Quite admirable for such a young woman.

I must say as most extremely generous Michael T is with his gifts......the most treasured gifts I personally think he has given are his glorious stories and humour in his perfect writings to you all. He truly is an author to be noted.⭐⭐ I could only hope that you may consider putting all his stories into a file or even scrapbook or better yet a book form originals of some sort with a glorious book cover (maybe antique book) and keep them in your library at Laland for future generations to read and admire.
