As implied in the title, the major change in this release is the implementation of open notes. There are some minor issues that need to be worked out with them but nothing that means I should hold off releasing it any longer. The video is showing most of the code required for open notes to work.
There are a lot of behind the scenes changes that plugin writers will enjoy. Also added Aditu's fix for the speedhack plugin so it no longer requires going into practice mode to setup and shouldn't kill FPS like it used to.

YES! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOREVER!!! :D Actually not that forever, but at least ever I seen UKOGmonkey streamed songs with open notes. I might port some of my Phase Shift charts to GH3+, but I wish GH3 supported drums and other instruments.
If you do, let me know how you do it. Feedback is taking a long time, placing them one by one.

Hey man, first of all, thanks alot for this, you just keep improving this game! However I have a problem. My bot can't hit open notes it seems (at least not hopo open notes, I haven't tried with strums), while I can hit them perfectly fine when playing myself. Any idea what's causing this? It's holding the release of my new 10k song back...

I have found an issue with open notes :
When using the Gem Shuffle Plugin, open note textures suddenly become normal notes, and when star power is activated they use the open note texture as they are supposed to, for a few seconds, then go back to the normal note textures again

Edited the open notes gems (for my rainbow ZONES) and when I tried to import them, the GHTCP crashed. Anyone knows how (or if is possible) to fix this?

Hello! So uh... not sure if you still reply to these but uh... earlier today, I finally got gh+ working, got tap notes, got open notes, all of that, but now there's an issue with the texture of the open notes. I've tried multiple zones, I've tried plumatos zones, I downloaded the ones on this video, the HD zones- you get the point. But on all of them open notes just appear as big yellow notes. Do you know any fix for this?
Are you using the exe I ship with GH3+? The plugin uses yellow notes as the "base" before it copies over the attributes of the open notes. This shouldn't just fail though. I would expect horrible crashes as opposed to the behavior you're describing.
If you add me on steam I can try working through it with you later. I'm heading to bed right now though.
ExileLord I fixed the problem on my own, the issue was the "GemShuffle.dll" plugin.
I guess it messes with the code of the open notes or something.

The open note plugin does a lot of scary things to the game. Right now there's not much the the gem shuffle plugin can do because I don't have a way for plugins to communicate about what changes they've made.

No. I am actually curious how the later GH games handle this if you can even play with a controller still.
there's a trick for GH4/GH5 PS2 that allows to play with a dualshock,all i've seen is that it works just like GH3 after resetting a song,otherwise it detects as a a guitar (different button layout and d-pad for strum(?))

Speedhack still drops the fps by about 300 for me, but on a plus side, no more extremely unreliable and tedious setup that may or may not work, so maybe it's worth using for practice and stuff every now and then.
Strange, my FPS didn't drop at all.
If you have done everything right (dragged files to plugins folder etc) then you in-game press numbers how fast or slow you want it to go. Example if you want it to go 20 percent faster, you press 1 2 0. If you want it to go 20 percent slower, you press 0 8 0 etc. There should come notification if you have done it correctly.
Have you actually checked what your FPS would be without the speedhack? If you already had the speedhack dll in the plugins folder before this version then of course your FPS wouldn't drop. If it really doesn't make a difference for you then that just means your GPU must be pretty bad.
Yes, without speedhack.dll or with it i have about 700fps and this new or older version of speedhack doesn't make any difference. I don't know why, but it's fine to me.
Almost everyone lose an absurd amount of FPS from the speedhack, it's about 600fps for me.
Sooooo I have multiple issues here. I am playing off of no1mann's installer and I have not seen any tap/open notes anywhere on custom charts, they are just invisible and hurt my rock meter. Also, side note, HOPO Chords aren't working (with the plugin). And is there any way I can find the zone files for the warriors of rock mod? I installed the updated zones to see if it would fix the invisible notes, and it did not, it just reverted the hud to gh3 and the hud is everywhere when playing a song. Thanks.
You do not have the taphopochord plugin installed so either you made a mistake somewhere or your antivirus nuked the taphopochord plugin which is responsible for tapping notes, hopo chords, and open notes. If GH3+ is running, it will generate a debug.txt file in the main directory listing every plugin loaded.

Hey ExileLord, I've tried dowloading all versions of GH3+ and they all say that there was a virus in the .7z file, do you have anything to fix this?
It's a false positive. GH3+ has behavior that is similar to trojans in that it overwrites the game's code when the plugins are attached. If you are truly paranoid and won't take my word for it, you can review the code and compile it yourself from my GitHub page.

its just that i got everything, its the GH3.exe file that the antivirus keeps blocking and i can't get it to work in the actuall GH3 file, do you have a mirror that still uses the GH3+ plugins?

I've never had issues with open notes, but for some reason they don't exist anymore in my game, I can strum where they are supposed to be, but it won't hit them. The game does register there's a note there, so it messes up the music and the rock meter. I've tried reinstalling GH3+, but nothing happened. What can I do?
Since I put in open notes speedhack doesn't work anymore. Is there a way to fix this?
@ExileLord, Is there any chance of getting an updated plugin to allow people who play with an Xbox or Dualshock controller to play with open notes? Like binding an open note button somewhere on the controllers along with the auto-strum that controllers already use?

i replace my zones and for some reason the open notes wont show, theyre in the songs but i cant see them its just a blank space and it counts as a miss when they go buy even though theyre invisible

You will have invisible notes in the song that are impossible to hit.

MarttiGH you need to install regular ghtcp, then download openghtcp and copy all the files to the install file, overwriting the existing ones
