    You are funny, informative, and genuine. Going to the Ritz in April. Gave us some good tips about not trying to fill up a day. Do you do any detail reviews of hotels/activities? So, what are some of the travel guides to use once we get on the island? Apps, paper guides, etc. Great job, you are good at what you do.

    Great Videos! We coming to Mau'i and you have made it better. A few questions: We were on the Big Island last year and the airport gives you a covid test before you leave the airport. I can't find anything if they do it on Mau'i too.
    Traveling to Lana'i what are the covid restrictions if any? Can you just catch the shuttle and go?
    I hear to eat indoors you need a vacation card, are their many places where you can eat at, nice places, or ones you suggest without one? Hey don't hold it against me, my wife had a very bad reaction to the first shot so we don't have a card. It put her into the hospital from getting it. Lastly any great suggestions for Valentine's Day dinner realizing we don't have the card. Would love some place with great island music or view. It's our anniversary. Any other great places for music? Local concerts? Tried checking Mau'i radio stations so far with no luck. Mahalo!

    Love your videos! It’s my first time coming to Hawaii, planning on coming in August 2020. A little torn between Maui & Kauai, have you been over to the other island? If so, what’s your unbiased opinion 😂😂

    • @BKRVlogs
      @BKRVlogs  4 роки тому +2

      Ross Broughton thank you! It’s really hard for me not be biased on this one. And yes I’ve been to KAUAI but really haven’t spent enough time there. But I do know this, it’s the oldest island in the Hawaii chain and also the rainiest. It’s very lush with some of the coolest landscapes. Like the na pali coast and Waimea Canyon. It really depends on what your looking to do. Maui in my opinion has great diversity from the white sand beaches, to the crater, to the rain forest. Also you can go to Lanai fairly easy. KAUAI is more adventurous in my opinion. If you’re looking do more hiking and exploring, it’s my recommendation for that! You can’t go wrong with either!

    Is Maui in February really rainy? And is snuba worth doing? And can you snorkel at the crater turtle center during the winter?

    • @BKRVlogs
      @BKRVlogs  4 роки тому

      Becca Hummel to be transparent. It’s always a hit or miss in February from what I can remember. Think of it like this... for example: if you live in a ski town, generally February and March you can expect snow. But sometimes you just have a dry month and some weeks it could be a powder day for 4 days in a row. We just generally get more rains storms during winter as compared to summer.
      I’ve only been to Molokini once tbh and it was in September, but I imagine they have those excursion all year around. It’s just activities like jet skiing and some other activities that are seasonal due to the humpback whales.
      I’ve never done scuba diving before! I definitely need to though!

    • @deliberatecreation8734
      @deliberatecreation8734 4 роки тому +1

      I went on a snorkeling tour to molokini in late Feb of 2017. Stayed in lahaina for a week. No rain, sunny perfect temp and weather. Turtles everywhere. Best of all was the aloha spirit. Nicest and friendliest experience I've ever had. I'm visiting maui again for a few months. Heading theres this month actually, that's why I'm watching this video lol. Take care fam :)

    I'd tell any tourist to pick up any centipede they find, centipedes love to be held and fondled.
    I'd also tell every tourist to go swimming off of kihei about 100yds from shore, especially after a good rain and the water gets a bit murky. To keep any possible sharks away.. Splash wildly in the water.
    Also.. baby oil is the best sunblock you can use.
    I am sure there are other awesome travel tips I could give them, but those should suffice initially.

      We just got back from Maui and it has turned to shit. I spoke to a few locals and they said point blank.. "You have no idea how bad it has gotten with all the tourism.."
      I am getting to the point that If all the tourists want to go to Maui and Oahu.. Great. They have already fucked those islands with their presence.
      So yeah, Maui is great, you should all go there.

      I hear what you’re saying.....even though I don’t think you have to be so angry! Yes, Maui has changed a lot in the past 20 some years. I’ve lived here for 35 yrs now ( some on Oahu )and have witnessed its changes! The problem is the push to bring more and more tourist! It wasn’t enough for some tourism.... the visitor bureau had to get greedy. With Southwest Airlines entering the market....I’ve noticed some not so inviting ppl coming. Not spending $$$ and just taking up space. I live in Kihei and the homeless is a real problem.
      My children were born and raised here. Both went away to the mainland for college. One returned and is a middle school teacher. My son, however stayed in Portland and can never see himself returning. My plan is to retire back on the mainland on the east coast from where I originate! Maui was once
      “No Ka Oi” the best. I don’t feel it is anymore. Aloha & Mahalo Richard🌺

      I am disgusted by what Hawaii is turning into. I feel for all the locals. You have the transplants and retirees who would sell their soul for making an easy dollar along with selling the soul of the islands and they are. Maui has lost its soul. Oahu is beyond repair. If the other islands don't stop and look at what is happening on those islands, the others will end up the exact same way soon enough and they are already going in that direction.
      Tourists are soulless, they take and take, never respecting where they are and how they impact the people who live there. How many do you think study the history of Hawaii and how Hawaiians have been impacted by all that is happening on their islands? It is disgusting seeing all those mindless tourists and the way they behave. It is disgusting even seeing how many of the locals behave in such a bad way. I enjoy my interactions with the locals I meet, who have been born and raised there. I always thank them for allowing us to enjoy their islands and try to acknowledge their pain in the smallest of ways with what is happening around the Seattle area with the amount of scumbags who are moving in here constantly. They are the same way, they are soulless people who take and take, who will leave one day and leave the rest of us the mess they leave behind.

      I totally agree Hawaii needs to slow its pace. I don’t blame the tourist per se. The majority of tourist love the islands. They come to enjoy some well needed rest and relaxation. I blame the Hawaii travel and tourism campaign, the outrages hotel, car rental and high priced restaurants. I have rallied for slow tourism just to be told that this is the bread and butter. Again, I’ll be leaving eventually, as this is not my aina. Where are the true Hawaiians? I’m disgusted too!! I’ve seen condos around me bought from mainlanders and sold 2 fold to you guessed it.....more mainlanders! I have no problem if they stay, but they use it as a cash cow. I could go on and on but for now I’m going to wish many Alohas and wish you a good day🌸

    Thanks for the vids! makes lockdown more tolerable.
    Here's an idea for you: You and everybody else says that food is very expensive, you have to ship it in... But you have thousands of acres that used to produce tons of food, but no longer. these have not been set aside for tourist condos... they are just sitting fallow with only weeds growing there..... why? must be a political power play but it's never been explained. WTF?

    Too many distractions in your presentation. Not very informative, would expect more from a local.

      he kept saying Maui is big but he only talked about two of the most touristy places on the island: Lahaina and Kihei.
