what would you rate this, though? 8/10? 4/10? Fluff/10?
My dad works at Mesa boogie, this pedal is one of my favorites.
We don't believe you.
the tone you got at 2:45 literally made me jump dude, it was amazing. Seriously I heard it and I actually moaned holy shit
Fantastic tones from that Flux 5. Thanks Fluff
Guitarists, i need help on this one: Boss gt6 vs Boss ME70 ? And is any of them good for metal? Need your opinion, thanks!
Wanted to hear the Flux Five with the gain on max. How does it sounds?
Whoah! the sound is really nice! and versatile.
It's not a Starla, it's a S2 Standard Singlecut. I know because I got one in tobacco burst. And it is awesome ;)
pedal sounds wicked, actually really like the change in how this audio has been recorded compared to the stuff that you do at home. what was the main change there? mic? cab?
Bring back Rebecca Dirks
Anyone know of a pedal that can replicate the sound of a Mesa Boogie studio 22?
Sounds stellar! Please, compare a Bugera 333xl infinium with a Peavy JSX (if they got that).
It actually sounds pretty good!
Cristian I agree. I didn't expect this from my experience with Ola's demo of this pedal alone
Well it is 300 dollars I would expect it to sound good
The silence's suspense in the first few seconds of the video nearly killed me! I was totally expecting to get blasted with yet another monstrous Fluff riff the moment I clicked.
How is it compared to the regular throttle box?
I really love your demos fluff, but sometimes I wish some of the petals weren't going into an amp that was already clipping. thank you for all your hard work I appreciate it.
I go to these videos because he is using the type of amp I would be using.
Imagine this pedal in front of a fender bassbreaker
Pretty sure that was a S2 Singlecut standard satin Not a Starla unless they made a stoptail Starla that i am unaware of.
Are you going through the front of the amp?
OH SHIT AN LBX II! Honestly that's the thing that surprises me the most
Holy crap Fluff is finally playing EVH 5150
Solomon Oh I was about to scream too lol
Also try the Mesa throttle box eq..
Will it sound metal with tube screamer boost, like Dual Rectifier?
Go with the throtlle box
Its not a Starla. The Starla has a Bigsby. What you have there good sir is a Singlecut Standard.
Exactly, even the pickup switch and knobs are different.
And you should have dressed up like The Riddler
Fluff have you tried Acustica plugins?
Such a ballsy tone. Good work fluff
2:40. For a split second, you were approaching the mythical Boogie Mark IIC+ tone. Wonder how much of it was the amp as opposed to the pedal though.
Pennywise has been one of my favorite bands for years. Would this pedal or the throttle box get me closer to their tone?
Nice sounding pedal.
I am pleasantly surprised that this demo sounded far better than I expected. I have heard bad things about it in Ola's demo of Flux Drive (including that Mesa should stick with amps instead of other stuff)
you should do a diezel vh4 preamp pedal demo, seriously
Sold!!
Seems worth the money its at. Maybe I'll pick one of these guys up. Or I'll get a Mesa Boogie amp. I dunno.
I'm convinced fluff doesn't know how to dial in a clean tone
He was using a 5150... it doesn't really have a clean tone
so you've never played an evh 5150 iii then? because they have really good cleans. the original 5150s don't have a good clean channel. he's also playing the second version of the lbx, which is the one with the clean channel.
Yeah I've never played a 5150 III but I own a 6505-MH and that little 20 watt high gain amp has a better clean channel than most people would think. I guess the original 5150 really ruined the clean reputation of the EVH and 6505 stuff lol.
5150 III LBX has all BUT a clean channel. All high gain and plenty of head room.
not true in the case of the 5150iii, the clean is actually pretty fantastic
D'aww, the goodbye tagline was cut short.
Great tone though.
03:12 HOW IS THIS A CRUNCH CHANNEL?!
Ilya zhundrikov BAHAHA I KNOW RIGHT
Not sure, but angry all-caps typing will surely fix it.
I'm not angry tho, just got caught off guard.
I almost died AHAHAHHAHA
Ilya zhundrikov my bad. Just trying to add some levity. Carry on.
In the descripti...
[We've been wonderful. He has been Fluff. He thanks us for watching, and we'll see him next time.]
HAVE I NOT BEEN WONDERFULL?
Kristian Gravdahl HAS HE NOT BEEN FLUFF???
WILL WE SEE HIM NEXT TIME? IM SCARED
Pretty sure tha's not starla. It's singlecut standard (S2).
;)
in the store I listened to the usual Flux Drive and Flux Five: I made a choice in favor of Flux Drive! it is more biting, crisp, less dirt in the gain. the task was to use as a boosted amp. Flux Five, on the other hand, introduced muddiness to pick strokes and grace notes, as well as a lot, a lot of dirt.
Flux Five's EQ distorts the natural tone too much, making it acidic. So I bought a separate EQ FIVE BAND Mesa pedal and used it to tone it before Flux Drive = this is a great sound !!!
good shit
6505mh or 5150 III LBX?
m1guh when you are a full home guitar player, then definitely the peavey 6505mh. Even the lunchbox evh amps are loud as FUCK. They sound great, but they are damn hard to handle when it comes to volume, even in 4(or was it 7?) Watt mode. The peavey also has a lot of cool functions, like the powersoak(like the evh, but with less options), which also is a dummyload, the usb connection, emulated out etc. But in the end it depends on your ears. Both sound similar, but the evh is a lot more gritty and handles really low drop tunings better, if that matters to you. Try both and then decide.
man, i got myself an evh 5150 III 50 watt head, it was the best purchase i ever made. the new line from evh is really versatile, you can play almost everything on those amps, from nice and warm cleans to extreme metal going through classic blues and hard rock!
Massimo Andretta true. The 50 watt version is pure awesomeness.
EVH hands down. The 6505MH is a hybrid amp. Not all tube. Has solid state op amps in the guitar's signal path.
Its nice but 300 bucks is a lot for a single pedal. I mean that is half the price of the same head you're plugging into.
Did he just engage this pedal on a crunch channel with gain on 10? Why. You'd keep the gain down on the amp and let the pedal shine.
Rock long and prosper
Thank you for allowing me to see your beautiful comment.
Mr Nimoy will forever be in our hearts
#brofeels
this amp really does not need boosting
It sounds good, but for the price I feel like some of the more affordable lunchbox heads would be more practical.
Old pedal, definitely underrated.
Swell!
Sounds like GC on Saturdays.
I think my ears have had it with the D chord 😂
Sounds good for AC/DC.
get on that 100 watt fluff!!!
wow did not cranck the mids in a 6 min video....
Soooooooo muuuuccchhhhh fllllllluuuuubbbbb😂😂😂😂
I had one; I wanted so bad to like it; to much fiddlling for a tone I really liked; I actually do not think it is versatile; a lot of different sounds but they are very bassy and very very pedal sounding. Drop tuning metal and thick glassy lead tones are where this pedal shines; It just didn't hold up against wampler or analog man for the music I play so I sold it.
Cheese
MotherOfDerp Bree, Camembert, Cheddar, Gouda, Red Leister, stinky bishop...
But the cheese shop will be out of all goods anyway
Not enough gain...
great for ACDC tone i see...
No
Mighty chuggage
Fizzy farts.
that Guitar slightly out of tune it annoys Me so much xD
Mikaelz that's very slight you have a good ear sir.
guitarist here :3 but thank you :3
Mikaelz What a coincidence!
Sounds no better than a china $40 pedal
Шляпа какаято а не педаль.
Sucks
