    We haven’t seen any follow up on the recovery as the Gold Coast was hit by a tornado. So thankyou again for giving us a look at what’s happening.

      I moved up here from Gold Coast 12mths ago, to be closer to my daughter in Trinity beach while she was going thru a rough time,I’m near Edge Hill, survived the floods only to be broken into Xmas morning with my car wallet & phone stolen so I’m looking at heading back to SEQ, such a same as I liked it here but being alone & the amount of break ins in the last week has ruined it 4 me,especially after this weather event 😢 I really love the no rat feel of Cairns but it’s not worth my safety here I’m devastated

    We lived in Cairns for 23yrs and went through a lot of cyclones... out of those years we spent 2 of the in Holloways Beach... thank you for showing us places we have not seen for a very long time and how they have gone ahead as well... Our hearts and prayers go out to those affected... Cheers...

    Thanks Debbie and Tim for taking the time to update us and to show us the progress on the clean up. Great job. Would you be able to suggest perhaps how l could keep track of the clean up of the Captain Cook Highway from Palm Cove to Port Douglas if that is at all possible? Thank you.

    • @vintagefoodfarm
      @vintagefoodfarm  9 місяців тому

      The Hwy opened yesterday so you can get to Port Douglas now. They had to blow up a massive boulder on the road! Anyway all good now 😊👍

    Mother nature is beautiful but mother nature can also be quite frightening. I'm glad you guys are safe. Seems like a lot of clean up and rebuilding to do for the city though.

    First of all I am so sad for all the people in the Far North that lost their homes their animals and to also the people that are trying to put their lives back together
    Thank you so much I'm happy you are able to drive around especially through Kuranda i have been asking countless people on line how the Kuranda community is especially the market workers as its all down hill.
    Thank you for sharing please make more videos I love seeing FNQ❤
    5 meters from the Barron bridge wow 😮 I've driven over that bridge thousands of times.
    You have so far made the best video on Jaspers mess
    I've subscribed to your channel 🥰 nice listen to an honest intelligent review

    • @vintagefoodfarm
      @vintagefoodfarm  9 місяців тому +1

      You are very kind! 🥰It is a very sad situation for a lot of people. I know some people in Kuranda had a lot of damage. I believe a family that is just new to the area lost everything but the community is looking after them as best they can. The number of people affected in Kuranda was less than areas around Cairns but that doesn't make it any less tragic. Mother nature can be tough 😔Have a great day and so happy you like the channel!🥰

    Why did it flood NO WHERE for the water to go ! Compared to 1977

  • @gorilladogmotherturtlebum769
    @gorilladogmotherturtlebum769 9 місяців тому +1

    Can I ask was Port Douglas flooded?
    I ask this because I did read it didnt stop the tourists (and their were quite a few) from travelling on boat from Cairns to PD and some tourists were getting Taxis, Ubers or chauffeurs the long way around to Port, (Which i think is a beautiful way to see the mountains)
    Ive heard many conflicting stories with PD having no tap water for 2 weeks but pubs were open without flushing toilets because of the water situation which im sure is a health and safety issue.
    Im not putting anyone down, or making any kind of complaint i cant imagine the business owners stress so its wonderful that they had tourists, and if I owned an unaffected pub or bar I would definitely stay open.
    My silly question is if the locals couldn't have a shower for 2 weeks just curious on the story of how the tourists were having showers?
    I'm sorry for asking ridiculous question im genuinely interested😅
    Maybe they jumped in the ocean to refresh themselves because that's definitely what I would be doing with no soap of course because that would be irresponsible to our special Coral Sea.
    Thank you again 💖🙏you're the best i love your honesty and your information and of course i love FNQ its part of my fathers, my mothers and mine hearts ❤

      @vintagefoodfarm  9 місяців тому +2

      I can't be sure of the details about the water or toilets but i know you can get there the long way through Mareeba/Julatten. Yes it is beautiful the mountain way!!!!! So sorry I can't give you more information but its just really hard to know atm. I would ring a hotel or the council and ask☺️ I believe it is all back on but still ring and check🥰

    • @vintagefoodfarm

      and no PD is not flooded 😁They really want people to come and support local businesses🥰
