The Go Away Cloud song is a fine example of just how superior the music in 70's kids TV was. There's no way anyone working in children's television would compose anything as harmonically rich and beautiful as that now. How lucky we were, to be exposed to such melodic and chordal sophistication from such a young age. There is something very special about something that's written for kids, but which adults can appreciate as well. It's a lost art. The music that kids are exposed to on TV now is so harmonically empty and melodically inane, it's no wonder that they're growing up with such unsophisticated tastes. What a beautifully evocative piece of music that was, it just brought my childhood flooding back.
