Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

So just a heads up.. multi point connection. The chips used in these small earbuds are not easy to make. They need to be made super small and low powered. Size is an absolute factor so where wireless headphones in the past where the electronics are stored in an inline remote box where the chips could be made by anyone, only a few suppliers make the chips for total wireless earbuds. This has led to a few regressions in total wireless earbuds. Right off the bat, the number of total wireless earbuds that were supporting alternative compressions like AptX was zero. Even sony took 4 generations to get ldac in it earbuds, because they did not make their own chips at the time. Everyone used off the shelf chips and so the feature set was pretty much the same. Now sony, samsung, and apple have been utilizing their own chips, but just because you don't see a feature suddenly explode on the cheaper stuff and get ignored on the big guys, do not mistake them for slouching. It just so happens all those cheaper earbuds use the same chip. Why spend more money on custom chips if you don't target custom codecs and noise canceling? Also, yea, multi point connection... not a thing. Don't let the armchair warriors sway you, no ones connecting their earbuds to 4 different devices. A second device people commonly connect to will be a laptop, but without superior codec supports like SSC, LDAC, AAC that we get with the phones audio lag is an all time high and in that case videos are out. just listen to the music on your phone. I blame windows and laptop makers for keeping pc bluetooth in the stone age.
That outdoor test was crazy! The galaxies made it sound like you were heard while also taking in all ambient noises equally, nothing got drowned out. The other two isolated the voice perfectly, but had a choppy voice quality

@Kwami A. at the same time, I preferred listening to the galaxy buds during the test. I'd rather have a phone call with someone where I can hear the birds chirping and cars driving by in the background, but the voice is still blending well and coming in clear. The others over isolated the voice, making it sound like you're having a conversation with a robot inside of some kind of weird noise isolated chamber. The buds need to either drown the ambient out a little more or amplify the speakers' volume a little more. It's a little TOO blended right now. The others need to dial back the voice isolation a lot and allow some type of ambient noise to make it sound more natural and pleasant.
I feel like you pulled the trigger on this review too soon. The Buds 2 for example have made great improvements in microphone quality with new firmware updates. The ambient mode and call quality can now reduce volume if there's too much loud noises and cancel out noises much better. As for the ambient mode with the Buds 2 Pro that's under the settings menu. They have adjustable levels. The Buds 2 Pro will improve with firmware updates.
Thank you Ceon for the review. I have the Samsung Galaxy book Pro 360 Laptop and a Samsung S21 Ultra phone and for me these earbuds are a Definite no GO. I have the the Soundcore Liberty 3 pro's and I couldn't be happier. The mic's , the SOUND, the app, the TRUE multipoint connection, and the PRICE are unbeatable at 99 bucks on sale. For me Samsung buds are not up to snuff and I'm not happy with this latest offering.
Your headphones are fine but you can pick up galaxy buds pro new on eBay for like 80-90€ because they are so often sold as addition to TVs and stuff. They measure very well to audiophile standards as a warm Harman and they use a better Bluetooth codec than other tws. Hard to beat imo. The new galaxy buds 2 pro tho sound a bit worse imo but that is subjective. And for the new asking price I see absolutely no reason to upgrade.
Samsung buds pro 2 is a huge suprise to me. Its the first one for sound and fit that I would put up against any top tier earphone. However, the phone quality is a negative just like the LDAc stutters are an issue for the Sound pro liberty. Bottom line ...there is no earphone that is perfect.
@@userxaries I just upgraded from the Buds+. I was fine with the fit, although I found myself adjusting them in my ears a lot. The Buds 2 Pro slide in almost perfectly and don't need any adjusting. They're definitely a superior fit.

Great video and insightful. I was fortunate enough to take advantage of a $75 pre order trade in for my galaxy buds pro. I am in the Samsung eco system and multi point is no issue as you've mentioned. BTW I keep my preset at Bass Boost or Dynamic. Now I do agree and hopefully will see some improvements with a customizable EQ, improved anc/transparency settings. When it comes to sounds quality and comfort the Buds 2 pro are better than the Buds pro. I will also agree for the price point it is a bit high, with some of those features lacking.
Wow, great point about the missing multipoint feature. My work headset has it, and even my xbox wireless has it. Coming from buds live, it has been hard whenever I need to switch to two devices, so thanks for 'pointing' that out! Also the difference in the voice quality. Pretty significant difference in there... Youve been very helpful on my decision lol Thanks!
I had the galaxy buds 2 and the galaxy buds 2 pro...I chose the Buds 2...Buds 2 is perfect for people who like to listen to electronic music...Buds 2 pro have more kick in the bass but the buds 2 have more deep bass...that causes you to simply perceive the bass more and I miss that with the buds 2 pro...
@@ahmedelaraby8226 The Buds 2 are the only Samsung bud that my callers say are good,no matter what environment I'm in . I have just purchased the 2 pros so haven't had any feedback. But the pro's after the update sounds just like the Samsung's did in the test callers said they heard my background more than me.
That background noise test was awesome. I just bought my 2 Pros and I am returning them because they do a poor job of cutting out the background noise during calls. And that's the only reason.
you can adjust the eq although not in the wearable app, but through your phones settings (sounds and vibrations>sound quality and effects>equalizer). hope this helps😄
Wouldn't call them reasons not to buy, still good buds but do agree on the extra features would be handy for people who like to play around with settings
Thank you for your review! I pulled the trigger! I am apart of the Samsung ecosystem with the S22 Ultra, Tab 8+ and Watch 5 Pro. I also got $75 trade in for my Galaxy Buds and split the payment into 4. But based on call quality I am liking the Liberty 3 Pro.
Wow I've never used ear bud bt those last 2 mic tests were unreal. I'll probly still go for the pro2 as I dnt really call or get many calls so thats not really an issue for me. Thanks for the review
I was looking for an explanation as to why my Buds Pro 2 don't have the adjustable ANC and transparency like the older version does. And your video was the only one that mentioned it. I'm really disappointed with this new version; the Buds Pro 1 is still the best choice for me.
I like the full body satin finish on the Buds 2 Pro. I use them to work out and my ears and fingers get sweaty. The glossy buds tend to slip around in my ears and fingers. The Buds 2 Pro feel more secure because of the texture. If not for the need for more grip. I would get the regular Buds 2 I use Poweramp as my music player. It gives me a 10 band EQ. Bass and Trebbel Boost. A DB Boost and a clipping limiter. Makes just about any ear buds sound perfect with some fine tuning in the music app. I can also save EQ preset profiles to specific devices.
Every windows and android device can download the Samsung wearable app which essentially adds multipoint connection. Also in ur call quality tests, the buds2 pro have the best quality sound in the noisy environment, but the others just cancel noise better.
Nice review. I have both the Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds Pro and I am very happy with both of them. I will not buy these new ones until I pay 150 € maximum. Keep doing your good job. Regards from Spain.
I had the Buds2 and trades then in on the Buds2 Pro an so glad I did. The pros sound alot better. Also if you go into sound settings on your phone an go into sound quality an effects there is a 9band equalizer fully adjustable an it does translate to the earbuds.
One really bad thing of Galaxy buds2 pro was, the Fit I dunnou, que buds pro 1 was a great, great design for Fit perfectly even on weird ear form like my one The 2's, no, has a normal design
Buds2 Pro do look great, design is simple but interesting and build quality is very good. Sound quality (tidal, Spotify) is good if we disabled noice cancelling. With noice cancelling turned on audio quality is downgraded. Unfortunately I hear quite often from people I talk to, that something is wrong with audio from my side! And it's most important factor, right? Considering quite high price I would say those are 6/10 earbuds.
Thanks for that audio quality sample from the 3 ear buds. You now have a sub and I just purchased the soundcore bud's cause I been chasing that unicorn ear bud that has loud and clear sound for the recipient with little to no background noise.

I just bought a pair from my local Target and to my shock they were on sale for $65!!! WHAT A STEAL!!! I am unfortunately HEAVILY entrenched in the Apple ecosystem. To those wondering, no I don’t mean in terms of how many Apple products I have because I honestly only have ONE, that being my iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, I say “heavily entrenched” because I have been using Apple products including their phones for 23+ years since I got my first iPod for Xmas in ‘01. Which is MIND BLOWING to me even as I type this haha. I am actually considering making the leap to a Samsung Galaxy Note phone (I had a Note 4 back in 2018 as a work phone and I liked it except for the TERRIBLE battery life and I also think those were the ones that caught on fire randomly when charging as well) because I LOVE having a huge screen. The bigger the better….(that’s what she said, GIGITY). So until then I don’t get to take full advantage of these buds. Having said that, even as an iPhone user I must say I am THROUGHLY IMPRESSED by these things. I even took my AirPod Pro 2’s back and I was going to buy the last set the had but someone else beat me to them!! The ONLY complaints I have are this whole “walled garden” approach that all got started because of Apple and now Samsung is JUST AS BAD AS APPLE!! As well as wishing the battery life was better because as a nearly 40 year old fully disabled combat veteran who suffers from both hearing loss and severe tinnitus, I wear my headphones/earbuds, ALL DAY LONG so I always want more battery life and to me in 2024 (or even 2023 when these were released) 5 hrs (with ANC on) IS THE BARE MINIMUM!!
Buds 2 cannot be found in "search nearby" while case is closed, Buds 2 Pro will be found in "search nearby" while case is closed. I own both and I love them both equally
I am not sure which earphones to buy I am more interested in sound quality than noise cancelling I would like to know if you have any recommendations... From Japan, Budget $150 My phone Samsung Galaxy s21+ What I'm interested in Galaxy buds2 pro, technics az-60, az-40m2
i think buds pro 2 has less firmware issues than most other company like sennheiser bose, and sony no joke almost no issue on those galaxy buds series kuddos to samsung by optimizing those firmware for the earbuds.
I highly don't recommend the buds pro. Simply because the fitment is horrible, which in turn make the sound horrible. I'm not the only one complaining about this, on multiple tech forums people are saying the same thing; these earbuds work themselves out even when you're just sitting there. Fitment is everything when it comes to ear buds. Go with the buds pro 2, these do fit better but aren't the best.
TLDR: download good lock. I'm pretty sure that all of these problems can be solved with apps like good lock. It's free on the Samsung store, and it comes with a ton of features, like allowing the old version of the gesture system instead of using the new version. If you don't have a Samsung phone then I have idea why you would want galaxy buds in the first place.
I've had mine for 8 months now I am a construction worker. I like the noise everything is great about them only problem is that the cheap matte coat on the outside. It cheap feeling and also due to them being thrown around or scraped against somthing the matte comes off pretty quick
The buds pro machine learning does the job of letting that siren voice inside.. just check that by playing a siren 🚨 on ur speakers. So the siren sound is actually an AI doings it's job . Also ANC even slightly better than airpods pro in cancelling highs.
Listening to this on my Galaxy buds 2 pro that i got on ebay for $60 bucks. Actually the best earbuds i ever had. They might not be the best, but i have nothing to complain about them.
The ANC is so disappointing, my fit test says it's a good fit but still lets in so much office noise (the reason I bought them for, to block out the shriek of my manager, don't care for music). My $75 Huawei Freebuds 4i does a way better job of blocking the office voices, maybe due to the design.
Would you take the new space a40 over these? That would be a great comparison video! The new background with the ANC God is 🔥 too. I'll probably pick them up for my next flight. I'm just hoping that Soundcore steps up the fit of the LP4 for those of us with larger ears. They're perfect otherwise but I just can't keep them in my ears for longer than a few minutes due to the wing not being long enough
Great video. The lack of the Ambient Sound volume slider was something I wasn't expecting to be missing. I had the Buds2 before and it had it. The feature under Accessibility for the Pro2 is similar but a different function. I think it is geared for those with hearing assistant needs and not a volume level control like what is on the other buds. My needs for ambient sound change depending if I'm on a train, in the city, or the park. The slider worked for that without much change in the sound quality. The Accessibility version really picks up and amplifies the high tones making it hard to use. I hope a firmware update could fix this.
I have the buds plus but about a year ago I dropped the right ear bud into a bucket of water and couldn't get to it for about 10 minutes. It still works but the last couple of days the volume is really week. I'll probably pick up the buds2 pro.
2:53 ad missing option: probably it was identified on user studies that people actually never use those options, therefore probably they just removed them, saved money and development / maintenance effort? just guessing 🙏thanks for the insights and details.
So much for the ecosystem. I have Apple Watch SE and AirPods Pro. I have downloaded music in the iPhone and in the watch. So if I want to listen to music in the watch I will have to connect to the watch…and disconnect from the iPhone and vice versa. Is this multipoint too?
good video, I do want to point out though that Samsung has a system-wide EQ in the phone settings that can have a different EQ per device and samusung likely expects people to use that. the app should be able to take you to this EQ like Spotify can but it is there (albeit hard to find).
@@unknown_-ed2rs You are totally correct, I just tried. I thought that BT was not modified. That being said, I agree with you. The lack of EQ on Galaxy Wearable app is completed with this EQ.
I was recently gifted a pair of Buds2 Pro for my 64th birthday. At first I was quite excited, however, my joy soon turned to, “@#!*#!@!**##@!**#” as there is no adaptor to charge them. Oh, don't get me wrong, there is one, but neither of the ends are big enough to fit into the main charger plug. If that makes any sense? Please bear with me, I'm old(er) and I seem to get crankier a lot quicker nowadays!
Are you sure you cannot connect two Samsung devices, both the tablet and the phone to the earbuds using the media control option? I am sure it is possible because I have a very old Sony Bluetooth speaker that can connect to one device at a time but I can choose to play the music from my tablet or the phone by making sure my phone is connected to the speaker and I have the Bluetooth turned on both devices.

Are there any earbuds in your opinion that is better than or on par with the Sennheiser MTW3s? You were absolutely correct with your review as to how good they are so I bought them, but I've had to send them back twice now because of various faults and am in the market again for another pair.
have you considered 1More Evo? The fit is not quite as secure and the touch controls are a tad limited..but the sound is really good. Especially when you use their SoundID feature.
I returned MTW3 because of horrible technical problems between connectivity, stability, and non-charging. Either getting these Galaxy Bud 2 Pro's or brand new QC2 buds
Is the fitment better on the buds 2 pro? The buds 2 are not nearly as secure in the ear as the galaxy buds +. I am hoping the buds 2 pro are an improvement over the bud 2!
If you still want some insight on this: I never bought the buds 2, but I have bought the the buds+ and then the buds pro. I went back to the buds+ because they were more comfortable and stayed in way better throughout the day. I just upgraded to the buds2 pro and they are great. More comfortable than the buds+ and feel solid in my ears. Don't ever get the feeling that they might fall out. I think its worth the upgrade
One of the few channels that can do a video like this without the feel of bias or looking like a fanboy. Great job 👍🏿 For me it's the design. Until they add some type of wing that would help keep the buds in, I'm out.
I'm pretty invested in the Samsung ecosystem by no, so I'll probably still pick these up as these aren't dealbreakers for me, but definitely good to know. Great video, very informative and clear, plus you got a professional vibe. Checking your content seems like you know a thing or 2 about the audio market 🙂
My music volume on these buds is trash. Samsung has always been so strong. These are my 3rd set of earbuds by Samsung. I trust them because they last and they're built well. In the past they've been LOUD These are not loud. I might return them to Costco I'm aware of hearing loss and or damage being a thing. I'm not suffering from hearing loss or damage.
@CEONTHEMAKING Can you really hear some audio quality difference between the buds pro and 2 pro on a regular audio? Or just when you put a 24bit audio?
Yea. Slight difference, but its there. Not enough difference in my opinion to justify the upgrade. I would only upgrade from the buds pro if they don't fit you well.
#SamsungFan and I set my Buds2Pro aside for the Liberty 4 NC. SAMSUNG NEEDS TO STEP UP THE CALL GAME I got tired of everyone complaining about the poor call quality when in my car. I am not a fan of having to keep my Plantranics 5200 on my person just for calls.

Valid Point. But if they could have seamless connection between samsung devices, Why can't they enable it for windows laptop too...
Windows bluetooth stack sucks baaaaaaaallllz.@@Nawaf-zj5hl
That outdoor test was crazy! The galaxies made it sound like you were heard while also taking in all ambient noises equally, nothing got drowned out.
The other two isolated the voice perfectly, but had a choppy voice quality
For me I returned 2 different pairs of buds 2 several months apart . I just did not find the sound pleasing especially the Bass . . . Now the BUDS 2 PRO are what I think are the perfect wireless buds . Very good bass Mids highs with Samsungs SSC codec , they don't move once I put them in , they are Ultra low profile , the ANC is really good as is the Transparency , The app is really good , I Have No Problem Sleeping In Them .
I Wish The Buds 2 Pro Had The 11 Hour Battery Life Of Galaxy Buds Plus .
Why is the sound of buds2 pro so low on that outdoor test? Can you change a setting to make it louder?
@@logiic8835 I'm not sure
Yeah, I was not impressed by the sound isolation if the buds 2pro. The other two, the soundcore especially, performed much better!
@Kwami A. at the same time, I preferred listening to the galaxy buds during the test.
Just upgraded from the Buds2 Pro from Buds pro and glad I did they are more comfortable to wear and the sound is a lot better
Hello, i can have bud pro 2 for 140$ and I already have bud pro1, upgrade is worth it for 140$ ?
Thank you Ceon for the review. I have the Samsung Galaxy book Pro 360 Laptop and a Samsung S21 Ultra phone and for me these earbuds are a Definite no GO. I have the the Soundcore Liberty 3 pro's and I couldn't be happier. The mic's , the SOUND, the app, the TRUE multipoint connection, and the PRICE are unbeatable at 99 bucks on sale. For me Samsung buds are not up to snuff and I'm not happy with this latest offering.
Liberty 3 pro are major value! Thanks for watching!
The fit is definitely improved!
@@userxaries I just upgraded from the Buds+. I was fine with the fit, although I found myself adjusting them in my ears a lot. The Buds 2 Pro slide in almost perfectly and don't need any adjusting. They're definitely a superior fit.
@@userxaries I upgraded from these, night and day difference the buds 2 pro are the most comfortable earphones I have ever used and better quality audio over the plus
@@andrewmcintosh2703 I sold my buds+ because of cabin pressure. I could feel my foot steps totally as a pressure. I think passive isolation was perfect. What about buds 2 pro? Os there any problem about pressure?
@@nmvideos5003 Well, I didn't have issues with pressure with the Buds+, so I don't know how helpful it would be to say I have no issues with pressure with the B2Ps.
I will also agree for the price point it is a bit high, with some of those features lacking.
i got it for $52 lol

Wow, great point about the missing multipoint feature. My work headset has it, and even my xbox wireless has it. Coming from buds live, it has been hard whenever I need to switch to two devices, so thanks for 'pointing' that out!
Also the difference in the voice quality. Pretty significant difference in there... Youve been very helpful on my decision lol Thanks!
Thanks. I almost returned my liberty 3 for these but after the call quality you did I'm keeping them.
What's your opinion about the mic performance in buds 2 please ?
@@ahmedelaraby8226 The Buds 2 are the only Samsung bud that my callers say are good,no matter what environment I'm in . I have just purchased the 2 pros so haven't had any feedback. But the pro's after the update sounds just like the Samsung's did in the test callers said they heard my background more than me.
@@gwiz3059 which means?
That background noise test was awesome. I just bought my 2 Pros and I am returning them because they do a poor job of cutting out the background noise during calls. And that's the only reason.
So what did you get for call quality?
Great video. Thanks for including the outdoor mic test
you can adjust the eq although not in the wearable app, but through your phones settings (sounds and vibrations>sound quality and effects>equalizer). hope this helps😄
I just bought the Liberty 3 Pros today and I couldn't even get them to connect to my S22 Ultra.
I would get the regular Buds 2
I use Poweramp as my music player.
It gives me a 10 band EQ. Bass and Trebbel Boost. A DB Boost and a clipping limiter.
Makes just about any ear buds sound perfect with some fine tuning in the music app.
I can also save EQ preset profiles to specific devices.
thanks Man i was just to buy them. gonna check for liberty 4

While comparing the motif ii and samsung buds 2 pro, which one would you prefer?
Please rply
One really bad thing of Galaxy buds2 pro was, the Fit
I dunnou, que buds pro 1 was a great, great design for Fit perfectly even on weird ear form like my one
The 2's, no, has a normal design
For the galaxy buds 2 pro are geared toward samsung users. Having said this most Samsung devices have built in adjustable equalizers.
Mic wise the sound core were pretty clear. I liked those ones the most.
LESS SELF FUCKING TO BE SURE

I use bud2 pro... and I'm in love... I've used sony and my soul left my body when I realized it didn't sound well..then I bought bud 2 pro... it's clean, it's punchy, bass is wonderfully perfect.I can't comment on airpods because I'm not an iPhone user, but other than that samsung is at top without a doubt.
How did you get samples for mic test? I think the sample of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is very natural sound. It seems not sample of voice call.

Seems like a very nit picky option but I respect it....I have them and paid 160 with a trade in and they sound amazing!!!
I can adjust the ambient mode on my buds 2 pro but not ANC. You can also set if you want it to be more clear or soft.
I'm able to adjust the tone of the ambient mode in the settings..but I haven't found a slider like with buds pro or buds 2.

Hey, can you guys switch to Google Assistant instead of Bixby when you long press ? Does it respond to OK Google ?
My buds pro crapped out in less than a year and i was thinking od getting these. I got a second pair of liberty 3 pros. Made the right decision
Couldn't be more assertive! Thank you
I am not sure which earphones to buy
I am more interested in sound quality than noise cancelling
I would like to know if you have any recommendations...
From Japan, Budget $150
My phone Samsung Galaxy s21+
What I'm interested in
Galaxy buds2 pro, technics az-60, az-40m2
i think buds pro 2 has less firmware issues than most other company like sennheiser bose, and sony no joke almost no issue on those galaxy buds series kuddos to samsung by optimizing those firmware for the earbuds.
There's an option for seamless Earbud connection - Can be found under earubud settings on the Galaxy wearable app..
Thank you! I almost bought the Galaxy 2 Bud's until I watched this. Will be ordering the Liberty Pro 3s instead.👍🏾
The liberty 3 pro was the best overall when It comes to call quality 👌
totally agree with u 👍..with just only in normal mode on outside when receive call all of my friends hear my voice clearly
The ANC is so disappointing, my fit test says it's a good fit but still lets in so much office noise (the reason I bought them for, to block out the shriek of my manager, don't care for music). My $75 Huawei Freebuds 4i does a way better job of blocking the office voices, maybe due to the design.
WOW! Those Liberty 3's sounded OUTSTANDING outdoors
Hi! Thanks for the vidéo. What about the autonomy of the batery please?
Any comments about the Buds 2 pro fit during sports ? Do they fall easy?
They stay in place very well!
A40 are the better deal for sure
I like how i watch these vidoes after I buy the buds :)
I can get the buds fe for 70 euros or the buds 2 pro for 110 both new out of the store. Should i go for the buds 2 pro?
2:53 ad missing option: probably it was identified on user studies that people actually never use those options, therefore probably they just removed them, saved money and development / maintenance effort?
just guessing 🙏thanks for the insights and details.
I agree with the eq options. Try and update them. Have the pro 2 and they don't seem to want to update.
I am not sure if the phone EQ will modify BT headset, did you try?
@@santiagodelbono1 it directly modifies the audio output, headset gets no say.
@@unknown_-ed2rs You are totally correct, I just tried. I thought that BT was not modified. That being said, I agree with you. The lack of EQ on Galaxy Wearable app is completed with this EQ.
