    It gives a real sense of a railway at work rather than someone just playing trains. Marvellous.

    Nice bit of manoeuvring Lewis. Like the brief birds eye view over the points. Cheers

    Great video, loved the opening sequence, almost total silence except for the occasional tweeting of a few birds, then followed by an interesting shunting session. Cheers Greg

    As usual, another absolutely superior running session. GETs should have different awards for differing types of UA-camr IMO.
    Quick suggestion; would you consider uploading 2 of the same session, but with one of them having just the lightest of narration?

      @MouldyRaspberry  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! Yes that’s a good idea, a bit like the old archive footage has a bit of narration describing the location or train.

    Once again, a very delightful video playing out on YDMR. Im a bit concerned about the absence of the shunter assistant. He on sick leave?😂 I havent seen anyone performing those duties. No one to do handsignalling during these operations. Otherwise a great delivery of railaction😀

    Must say I have no idea of what a Mickey Mouse Disney goof around is. Not a railway term that is familiar to me.

    It's a lovely looking loco - one of the prettiest, IMO - and it fits perfectly into your layout. Nice to see some shunting action.
    Having watched some reviews of the new Hornby version, I did some research and found out it was an Ivatt 2MT that hauled the last train from Brecon station in 1962. Being a "South Wales exile", I decided I wanted one, but was not willing to pay the price for a new Hornby. So I found a barely used, green livered, Swindon built Bachmann example for £65. The detail is not as good as the new Hornby version's, but it passes the "3 foot test".
    Not sure why, but Ivatt's 2MT looks so much prettier than his 4MT IMO.

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  Рік тому

      Thanks Stephen, appreciate it. Good choice, I think Bachmann remade the Ivatt 2MT with a revised chassis which is really good. I’ve got the tank version and it’s great!

    You need to sort that bufferstop out, mate. It's sticking up off the rails, and needs to be pushed back into place. Nice to see a new engine, but where's the rest of the railway? Also, an engine doesn't just suddenly stop dead. You need to gradually slow the engine right down to a crawl before stopping her gently and safely. Remember to have the engine go slowly over points. Nice to meet your new recruit, keep her in gleaming condition, although in real BR Days, she wasn't kept clean so well.

    Hey Lewis, I have just asked in another video but as I am here also I will ask again if I may. What make/brand and size of ballast do you use? I have just had a ballasting nightmare and had to rip it all up. Great running session.

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! I use Geoscenics N scale ballast. I tend to randomly mix a few colours together, mainly a brown, beige and grey.

    Do you edit in some authentic sounds or are these made by the model locomotive only?

  • @OlivierGabin
    @OlivierGabin Рік тому +1

    Very typical move for such an engine, everything here is stop on from an operational point of view !
    Such a low-end power engine was certainly a blessing for all cabotage trains like the one you show us here, going from stations to stations on a certain stretch of line, picking and delivering wagons as needed, and assuming the shunting moves.
    You just need to turn your video in black and white, add a jolly band music and an emphatic comment delivered with the right tone to get something perfectly identical as lots of BTF documentaries of the 1950s.

    If you can buy 92199 hauling the Hogwarts Express coaches, 75019 piloting 92085 hauling the Pines Express coaches, Tintagel No. 73084 piloting Bideford No. 34019 hauling the Torbay Express coaches, 92178 hauling the Cambrian Coast Express coaches, 53807 hauling the Cornish Riviera Express coaches, 53806 hauling the North Wales Coast Express coaches, 75009 and 53810 hauling the Flying Scotsman Express coaches, Merlin No. 73080 piloting Ottery St Mary No. 34045 hauling The Broadsman coaches, 92000 hauling the The East Anglian Express coaches, and 75033 and Westward Ho No. 34036 hauling The Wildlife Foundation Express coaches, then you'll be able to recreate the good Express days of double heading to extend it to a long main line.
