- Welcome back to the channel, hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday. Come watch me cook up that legendary sound of the 90s from Devante Swing from scratch.
Now this is the type of production I would love to see more today
Go to love the early 90s. R&B sound ths for the slow melody's, and then the Nww Jack swing style for the faster ones. Excellent stuff!! 😎
Way too smooth💪🏿 straight Playa vibes
Good to see a Playa comment, RIP Static
I love this tutorial and this type of video this is the Epidemy of a Devante Swing style track thanks bro keep going

I miss this era 🔊🔥
dope video bro
Where can I find those drum samples you used fam?
Always enjoy the education.
I like your Rick Rick video, its nice to see him get paid homage. He’s one of my favorite producers and one of my early influences when I started making beats.
Do you have a video on your MPC and Cubase workflow? I’m trying to figure out the best way to use my MPC and DAW without using the MPC Software.
Or if I have to use the MPC Software what’s a good workflow to use with DAW.
Thank You!

This joint needs a good chopped n' screwed remix asap.
Yes sir this is that shit right here that 90s rnb sound
@TheProducerLife when you dropping the Devante swing drum kit? I been waiting on it homie 💪🏾😂
You look like you may be young enough to not have heard the song "I can go Deep" by Silk. That was off their eponymous 1994 album that doesn't get talked about enough.
Your song sounds a A LOT like that. And that's not a bad thing. Give it a listen. The similarities may surprise you.
And it makes sense. Those Roland synths were VERY popular back then. Silk and Jodeci definitely used the some of the same workstations.
Also, Jodeci were SO influential to the modern R&B sound that, in my opinion, we are ALL still making Jodeci style R&B. Or at least a rendition of it.
The pad sound is great. Lemme know if there’s a serum or pigments version of that sound
Do you make drum kits?
Bro u need to put these out as singles
When the lead came shit was naaasty 😂🔥🔥
Hey man, I would like you to step into the 70s soul music. Some Con Funk Shun or Heatwave.
I totally forget that some people do the drums first. Not hating at all lol Totally threw me off 😂😂 great tutorial and beat still 🔥
I do have a quick question; I'm trying to make an arrangement similar to this one. I love this 90s generation of music although I only 19 years old, I know a lot about it. But anyways, do you have you BPM set to 100-112? When trying to find a Lead and a Bell, what characteristics do I look for. I've listened to a lot of Jodeci, and Dru hill, and listening to the way the beat intros to the verse, the switch up, I'm not sure how to achieve that. if you need a reference what I'm talking about just listen to the first 40 seconds of My Heart Belongs to You, Jodeci.
say bro that beat fire can you do another ai vocal beat using pimp c voice
I enjoy your videos mane. However, your story is important too. I can’t speak for others but I know I would like to hear more about you and your journey this far. Or maybe insight as to what goes into making your videos.
🔥🔥 fire bro, are those drums from the MPC?
Ill tell u this… find out what drum machines and modules your favorite producers used and search for the samples.. they are out there

Is this beat for purchase ?
Why can't I loop my drums like this?
What's the Key of the song
D minor
Hey bro. Can you start letting us know the bpm you are using. It would help me out a lot as a new producer.
As a beginner producer it's going to be far more useful for you to be able to start detecting bpms yourself. Pretty much every DAW has a 'tap bpm' function, and there are tons of free apps too. Just tap along to the rhythm to find out what the tempo is. Pretty soon you'll have enough experience to tell just by listening. I have this one at 54bpm.
@@p45fan I know about the tap function. If someone ask something it’s for a reason. Everybody ain’t in a studio listening to these videos bro. It will help his videos do better numbers by including info like that. Whether by saying it or showing it in the video, which he some times does.
Drum pattern is wrong. It should be boom tu boom boom or boom tu boom boom boom. More double kicks. DeVante. Beats were hard. Not so plain. Moog is a little plain. It has more twists and turns. It needs to do more.
Example Below produced by Devante

It sounds nothing like a DeVante Swing beat. But it does sound exactly like a Bishop Burrell beat. Who always tried to sound like a generic version of DeVante. Go re-listen or listen to Diary of A Mad Band vs Beggin After Dark. Night and day s7^^. Bishop Burrell would be proud. i can hear Dino (RIP) all on this s&^^. Do a Rodney Jerkins beat. Hint:: Korg Triton Extreme sounds only for the patches. Also, play the chords and melodies from start to finish of the entire beat. No bs copying, pasting, and quantization. Musician producers didnt do that bs in the 90s. It sounds sterile af, like modern music
Don’t diss bishop like that 😂 he was a nut himself ! Much simpler then Devante but still funky on them keys.
Quit sippin on that Hateraid
You sound like a hater
