Didn’t ever get back on here and let you know.. But I made these and they are great. Think I made 6 of them. I have 5ft and 4ft and 3ft target heights works great. Thanks so much for this video.
I use a for sale sign holder from Lowe’s. I get the one with a heavy duty frame and zip tie cardboard to it. Works pretty good. Just replace the cardboard after 50-100 rounds and ur set.
Great design. I definitely made everything way more accurately than needed. Slot for 2x4 is a little loose cause I used a skill saw and isn't perfect. Will slide a framing shim in to tighten up when I'm at the range. Any concern shooting a rounded bolt on the steel? I feel like that would send the bullet into rickoshit?
nice build. could you not have just put the 2 2x4 together and dado the space for the uprights? im gonna use this as a template to build my stands. thank you.
Nice idea, i'm wondering if that would make the 2x4's to weak to support a heavier steel target wobbling back and forth as you shot it. That would work great for just the 1X2's tho.
Mill out the support to accept 2x4, you do this once and can replace upright as much times as u need to. Mill the upright and every time you shoot the support accidentally you need to remill.
Just made a stand with a standard chop saw stiffyschlong, and if you were capable of doing anything on your own, you probably would have already made one by now. And that's without being a douchebag. Great video by the way. Gonna take it out and use it this weekend. Thanks
I looked forever trying to find this design. Everyone else on YT has the most complicated and poorly designed stand. Yours is perfect! Thanks!
I just made this 8 years after you made this video thanks for sharing
Awsome idea. Thanks for including the measurements 👍🏽
Watching this in 2023. Can confirm target stands are NO LONGER 4 dollars to make 😂. But… still a great option and budget friendly stand
Use 2x3's
@@fajfasjfjdfasjwhy exactly?
@@caylumhenderson9396 They're cheaper.
🤣🤣🤣
Made mine today, thanks for sharing these. Easy to make.
beautiful! I'll be taking on this project soon. looks sturdy, light weight and easy to transport. Thanks for sharing!

I use the political candidate signs that are left in the ground after every election.
Good build Evan, those will work fine. Fun to have a shooting range close by to keep your shooting skills up. Thanks for sharing with us.
I just made my target stands 😊 I can’t wait to test them out on Friday Thank you
thank you, i had this idea in my head and wasn't exactly sure how to execute it, now i got it, thanks again
My base came out crooked as shit (operator error), but it still worked great. Thanks for the vid.
I put door hinges so the legs can fold in for storage
Just what I was looking for, thanks for the ideas!
Nice exactly what I was looking for I'll be making a few of these thanks
Thanks for a simple, clear, concise and inexpensive target stand. I think I can build those easy- peasy;-)
Enjoy watching your video
Absolutely amazing 👏
Awesome!!! Just what I was looking for.
Hello from England, Perfect Thank You xcx
Good thing about what is you can shoot the wood and not destroyed compared to you shoot the thin steel and be done with it
Be using this way for my dartboard stand 🎯
i just used 2x4 as spacers worked way easier
Awesome set up, great video. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing............Off to the wood shop to make a couple
You gave me a great idea bro
Thanks for sharing!

Is there a plan to waterproof the base somehow, to kind of make sure it lasts longer?
Good job Not a bad idea buddy.
thanks! just what I was looking for!
Excellent video. Thank you.
This is a great design and a great video! I need to find someone with a table saw to make the cuts for me
Thanks for making the video.
is it really DIY if you need all of the tools most people don't have?
Awesome video
Why not just use 2x4s for the spaces in the middle? , then you wouldn't need the groove cut out
Indeed, then on the sides you could just use 2x2 pieces to hold targets upright instead of 1x2s.
@@DarkVegetaman let's make a video:)
Thank you! I'm glad someone else noticed this too!
I did. And I also turned my 2x4 upright the other way for my steel target hangers.
Going out to make a couple right now. Thanks!
Can you put the measurements in the description?
Exactly what I was saying
Nice Vid. Good Instructions.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Retard
and john 3:17?
3:17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Your a genius. Thank you...just what I was looking for. How are they in the wind?
The seem to do fine in the wind, even with a full cardboard target.
How long are the pieces at the base?
Awesome great video
$4 a piece has tripled now in 2022!
You fuckin genius. Thank you for the video
I heard you mention that you cut the furring strips to 5 feet for the uprights. Do you also cut your upright 2x4s to 5 feet as well?
I am going to guess 4ft, so you can get 2 out of an 8 foot 2x4
nice build. could you not have just put the 2 2x4 together and dado the space for the uprights?

I have since made one of these. The top has foam to pin the paper targets to. Work great but the hollow point . 22 take alot of meat off the wood.lol

Whoo, I think I can make this. Thanks for the hot tip!
Great for air soft. I guess
Anyone have the measurements written down ?
what are the lenghts of the pieces???????
Any more tips for me
4 dollars. That's like 459 in 2024 Biden dollars.
2000 $ table saw..must be a nice one
10 years later, September 2024, a cost of materials is under $10 (at home depot) for each stand
Man I miss the price of 2014 lumber…
smalltown442 how stable are these when shooting.40 or 45 cal.
We only knocked one over once, it had a 8" steel plate hanging from it, and we shot it with a 45-70.
talented dude. lots of nice toys to build with. the 2" brad nailer makes me a bit nervous, though.
Freakin awsome
Do you sell those?
4 dollars a piece huh? Not right now thats for sure
making these at work
What are the sizes of the 2 x4?
This doesn't hold for me. The middle post is too weak.
$25 for a real stand on Amazon
Okay. I just need to buy a fucking $2000.00 table saw just to make one fucking $4.00 target stand.
lowes...
or a hundred dollar router which if u do any wood working at all u should already own.
Just made a stand with a standard chop saw stiffyschlong, and if you were capable of doing anything on your own, you probably would have already made one by now. And that's without being a douchebag.
Great video by the way. Gonna take it out and use it this weekend. Thanks
With enough determination you could make it with a kitchen knife, troll.
or just pay $0.20 /cut and have lowes do it for you
...and a fucking $500.00 air gun.
+stiffyschlong
Judging from your comments, don't think you should be looking up videos about how to make something yourself.
+616stang haha
