    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  5 днів тому +1

      Ya, with that boot size, you'll want the extra waist width. You might be able to size down to the 158W if you're more in the 170-180lb range.

    This board is not for novices. My superDOA absolutely kikrd my ass. You have to be on top of it all the time to keep it on the rails. This line loves speed like a desert loves the rain. Mine didn't start to mellow till the 40 day mark (ish)

    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  5 місяців тому +2

      Agreed (8:13)... Beginners will be far better off with a more forgiving (and cheaper) option. Here are some great picks for anyone reading: www.snowboardingdays.com/best-snowboards-for-beginners/
      @wildtwindad are you enjoying the board now it's mellowed out though? I rarely use the term "aggressive" riding, but think it certainly fits this board! I'm also towards the upper end of weight range for mine, which probably adds a little playfulness.

    • @Wolfgarden

      Yeah it feels like it constantly wants to turn on “full base”, so you have to be on the ball otherwise you'll get caught faster than a beginner on the first bar lift😆

      Hey. Thanks! What do you normally ride for all-mountain? Unless you usually ride much longer, I'd personally go with the 158W. The effective edge is generous and probably beats 161's from most other brands. You're well within the reference range for the 158 too 👌

      @snowboardingdays  7 днів тому

      @@araucariasightings3247 If you want precision and pop, go Super DOA. For a slightly more laid-back ride, go with the TRS. The TRS is lighter than your average Lib Tech board, but still not a touch on the Super DOA (if that matters to you).

    How’s this compared to a Custom X? Have a Custom / Indoor S / BSOD and my custom is starting to wear down a bit and am thinking of replacing it with a custom x or a super doa. I really like the custom but with a little bit more pop and snap it would be amazing

    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  3 місяці тому

      If you're looking at the Camber Custom X... that's a beast of a board! Guessing you were looking at the Flying V?
      The Super DOA is more similar to the Custom X FV. It's notably stiffer than the Indoor Survival or regular DOA, but not to the degree it's unmanageable. It's a weird feeling being significantly lighter but still more responsive!
      Really depends what version of the X you're looking at TBH. Both probably have more pop overall, but are significantly more work to access it. The Super DOA sends a pretty decent pop from pretty minimal input.

      @@snowboardingdays no no I’m looking for a full camber board to replace the custom. I’m a decent boarder but I life in FL and there isn’t a good snowboard store that’s closer than 2 hrs from where I live.

    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  3 місяці тому

      @@TRIKushbeachside ah I’m with you! The Super DOA is hybrid though… which is what confused me?
      If you want true camber then the Custom X is a solid option. I’m not a huge fan personally - great for hard charging and carving up groomers, but way less versatile and requires a lot of finesse to take through a park lap - though is admittedly great for XL jump line and spins. I’m more of an aggressive all-mountain rider who wants the option to have a lazy mess around on side hits when I feel like it, which the Super DOA is better for. If you’re looking for a hard-charging, carving/freeride board, the Custom X is better.

    • @TRIKushbeachside
      @TRIKushbeachside 3 місяці тому +1

      @@snowboardingdays I’m not really that big of a park guy and I kind of got the indoor for the smaller park type of stuff I would do or just wanting to go do little side hits here and there etc.. really grabbed it to work on presses/butters and stuff like that. My custom is noticeably heavier than both of my Capita boards, I know the Cust X has a really light core but curious if the Super DOA is lighter? Basically the super DOA is a really poppy deck that has decent hold but the Cust X with the full camber is even snappier but a lot more work to load etc.. this is the board I’ll be using to crush groomers and launch off rollers and so on. I’m a fast rider when it comes to riding style, I’m usually going 50-60 mph when the runs are nice etc.. I do love some solid carving runs but I’d say I’m more straight line/ high speed carves in general.

    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  2 місяці тому +1

      @@TRIKushbeachside Yeah the custom will still be slightly heavier for sure, especially compared to the Super DOA which is crazy light. I tested it alongside a Ride Warpig and by comparison, that thing felt like a brick. You've summed it up perfectly there... the Custom X is more speed-capable and can generate more pop, but you have to work much harder for it. It sounds like that may be closer to what you're looking for? Have you ever ridden the regular DOA?

    Hello my friend I like very much the new super doa..I’m 183 height 96 kg and my size boot is 45 Europe..what size board super doa is for me…???I think 158 or 158wide

    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi there. Agreed. It's a beauty. Do you normally ride a wide board? At your boot size (about 11.5 US), I'd normally recommend mid-wide or wide boards. With a high-end board like this, you won't notice too much difference with edge to edge transitions on the wide, but you'll be able to get really low when carving without fear of booting out.
      You are pushing the weight range a little for both the 158 and 158W, which may affect the flex slightly, but it's a fairly stiff board so should be more than capable of handling it.
      TLDR: 158W :)

    what's the different with sDOA 2024?

    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  26 днів тому +2

      @@joeywu4243 Hi! For 2025 they’ve upgraded to the new “Hybrid Holysheet™ Triax Glass” - basically mixes carbon and fiberglass. This makes the board a little lighter than the 2024.
      The base is also a slight upgrade (Hyperdrive Adv XT Base) - although the 2024 version already had a pretty sweet base - so whether you’ll tell the difference, I’m not so sure 🤷‍♂️

      If you're a reasonably advanced rider who wants to ride something a little bit different, and has the cash to spare... then yes. Don't bankrupt yourself for it though, the original DOA is still a solid board.

    • @snowboardingdays
      @snowboardingdays  4 місяці тому +2

      Must have been some bang! What happened? 😬
      So, for 2025 they’ve upgraded to the new “Hybrid Holysheet™ Tri/Tri Glass” - basically mixes carbon and fiberglass. This makes the board a little lighter than the 2024.
      The base is also a slight upgrade (Hyperdrive Adv XT Base) - although the 2024 version already had a pretty sweet base - so whether you’ll tell the difference, I’m not so sure.
      Personally, I’d go for the newest one if you have the choice. May as well have all the latest tech and has a better resale potential (if you ever decided to let it go).
      Few people saying they prefer the white over the green though, so depends how big of a deal that is for you?

      @@snowboardingdays Hey thanks a lot, where did you get the info? Exactly what I need! 🤩
      Yeah I was run over by two skiers and as I didn't have fully healed ribs from last season, it was unfortunately a bit "unfavorable". However, the board itself had already had a defect beforehand, I was boarding in extremely icy conditions and the binding was clearly pushing through the back of the board (it was crazy deformed).
      That's why it was taken back, otherwise it's by far the best board I've ever had, a lovely fast board with real character❤🤣
      As far as the color is concerned, the white and black really pops and is nice and classic... but to be honest I had a green one for a long time and I like the color in the snow (white is quickly invisible on the snow).

      I spoke to the CAPiTA reps at the end of the 23/24 season. Reliable source for sure! This is also how I was able to scoop the 2025 model 😉
      Ah man, that sounds brutal. The skiers owe you more than just a new board! Unusual binding issue. Had you hot waxed with the bindings attached? Seen my fair share of bulges or dips from this. I had also wondered whether they've thinned out the Super DOA too much - although mine is still going strong with another 20+ days on it - including some pretty heavy bails.
      Good point. The green does tend to pop a little better. I like it better than black/white personally.
