We set sail for the Southern Great Barrier Reef with the Adreno Spearfishing Crew for a week of diving and underwater adventures. The first day goes horribly wrong with one of the crew evacuated in the Emergency Rescue Helicoptered (full Episode & story coming soon).

That was a good production and I understand wanting to put punters on the boat; but seriously blokes the southern GBR has nothing on the GBR north of Cooktown, I've sailed dived and speared the whole reef from my yacht for the last 26 years and like Graham Connors said 'I go a little further north each year' Once you leave Cooktown behind everything gets bigger.
That's awesome mate! No doubt you'd have some great yarns to tell. We do love the Southern GBR though... nesting Turtles, Tiger Sharks, Manta Rays etc.
@@BacktoBasics Accessibility is the draw back up here in the north, at this time of the year it blows SE to much; so seeing the whales is hard, and getting out to the reef is rare; Whilst down south you have plenty of opportunity at his time of the year.
Traditionally that would starts changing around late September with light northerlies and that's when you know I know I'm in gods country/ocean. It's being a month since my last trip.
I know there is always the mangroves when it blows to much, but that's just not my favourite, midges, blowflys, mozies, and corks just to get a small harvest.
At the moment though we don't have the tourrerist hanging around, so the reef is all ours when we get out there.

Great vid guys! The quality is absolutely astounding. Can I please ask what settings you have on the GoPro to film with? I've got a hero 7 black but get nowhere near this crystal quality.
Filmed on Gopro 4, 5, 7 and 8. Strick spends a while mucking around in post production to try make it look good 👌

@@BacktoBasics I use a 1300 RA for clear water diving. I'm waiting on a roller head to arrive to convert it. I was planning on cutting it down to a 120 or 115 but I'll give it a crack at 130 first
