You are the first person on youtube I have ever seen that not only tells that it's important to practise but also why it's important. The first step in becoming a professional guitar player is to know what you are fighting for. Keep it up, Eric!
To be honest, I'm kinda lazy to keep up practicing for a long period of time. That will be priceless to see some good exercises with deep explanation and motivation, e.g. what style of playing this exercise will help with and at what point you should stop to switch to another exercise.

Yeah I do several hours a day myself, if I'm recording it's usually a hard day on my fingers... even calloused fingers feel worn out. Rest your hands but keep them stretched.
Eric how do you deal with those times that your hands need a rest?

I can a test to not practicing makes for slower learning
I started playing just a few years ago. I never picked up a guitar until then. I played from tabs and played single notes, that is how i learned to play starting out. I then decided I needed to learn chords and set out to learn to play chords. I have learned open chords and when i tried to play the chords along with single notes, i could no longer play the single notes.
It became so frustrating, it was as if my mind was doing one thing and my fingers could not relate....
It was so bad, I stopped trying to learn or play for awhile. When i pick up the guitar now it is as if I never learned anything.
It is starting all over again....it is not like riding a bike...one can forget and one can lose what they gained....of course I am not young and retaining information is hard in itself as it is, not playing regularly only makes that worse.
Practice-practice-practice is the only way to learn and gain doing anything.
That's my two cents worth

I know there is no concrete answer to this, so asking your opinion, I always struggle with not practicing but what to practice. Or more to the point, practicing the most efficient way and things. I know I'm being generalistic ,and vague but doing so purposely. In your opinion, what is best, or most efficient way to practice daily. Again I know no concrete answer or one right way, just am trying to ask a bunch of people this question and take a lil bit of knowledge from everyone. So thanks for understanding and answering a vague question.

If you love guitar, you should want to practice and not even have to ask that question. I don't have the luxury of practicing whenever I want because of kids, family but, any little time helps. Half hour here, 15 minutes there.
