For me, Aggressive venting is absolutely amazing, especially with manual overheating. One of scout's biggest problems for me has always been swarms, and aggressive venting just removes that weakness to an extent. And for the boltshark, trifork volley turns the crossbow into a railgun of doom that rivals the Engi's Hyper propellant.
as a greenbeard who got the aggressive venting, how is it best used? Because reloading before 50 doesnt aggressive vent, do I have to burn half my magazine everytime I need to aggressively vent?
@@aldolhitlercondensation1363 AV's best used as a "spray-and-pray" kind of thing, with the primary goal being to overheat as fast as possible to get the AoE explosion, so I'd focus on max heating and cooling rate. A good build would be 113xx if you want to get out as fast as possible, or 112xx if you want to spontaneously combust more frequently (Although it isn't really necessary.) T5's mod is up to personal choice, but I'd use 1 to conserve ammo - just hit reload when the bar turns yellow or orange.
A strong advocate for overtuned firing mechanism for the gk2 here. It's just fun. High rate of fire on a weapon with an intense kick, with battle frenzy as the cherry on top. Gotten used to it where I don't have ammo problems, haz 5 solo or full team. It's competent - dunno if it's the best. If I *really* wanted go all out on min-maxing, I'd take the m1000. I just run this OC cause it's fun.
Really like the video format and the in depth explanation of each overclock! For future videos a quick screen pop up with your mod build for each would be really nice too! Especially when you mention with certain builds you can hit certain breakpoints, so showing them would be very helpful.
Hey Ron!! If I had to pick my favorite overclocks for Scout: GK2: AI Stability Engine (having that accuracy at any range is incredible) M1000: Hipster (because spam firing this is so much fun 😆) DRAK-25: Toss up between Aggressive Venting and Impact Deflection (both are great for crowd control, something Scout doesn't really have) Jury Rigged Boomstick: Special Powder (cuz why not fling yourself everywhere? 😆) Zhukovs: Embedded Detonators (the explosive damage is crazy with this) Crossbow: The Specialist (I really enjoy the pheromone darts, can have even more of them with this) Rock and Stone!!
I definitely like AI Stability Engine, but feel like maybe I've been sleeping on Bullets of Mercy. Zhukovs my pick is actually cryo minelets. I love freezing waves of grunts, but especially incapacitating menaces. They freeze SUPER fast, and can be finished off in two seconds. "Ain't no hiding from me, bug!"
My primary set for scout Is: M1000, active stability, Pierce let’s you pop grunts, body shot webbers, and charge up for a double damage blow- letting you triple kill grunts and handle swarms a little better Crossbow: Pyro bolts, lure bolts. Lure a big bug and then hit it with a Pyro bolt, the other bugs will cook themselves while tearing apart the big boi.
Special powder can be really handy too on eliminations stock boomstick does a lot of dmg and you can launch yourself away from dangerous attacks so you can pick something else then dash
I have only one OC for my zhukovs, my favorite scout secondary, and it's Gas Recycling. Build it for reload speed and/or firing speed + get in get out, also ammo and accuracy. It's basically another primary with how much high value ammo you have.
@@janwinterhalter7258 I tried this on a few Haz 4 and I guess I just do not understand how the arcing Electricric works. It seems like it only affects the target shot? I didn't understand how I occasionally got others electrified or if it was even me doing that. I find the electric Drak to simply be more convenient for applying the DoT.
The Drak is honestly hard because all of the overclocks are pretty good. But I’d have to say my favorite is Rewiring just because it enhances the flexibility and gives so much ammo that as long as you’re okay with overheating and running around (which if you’re playing Scout, kinda your thing) it’s amazingly flexible. To me it feels like base Drak with more ammo. And I can build the base Drak with either more ammo or more damage. And I usually take the more damage. But since rewiring is so good, I still don’t lose ammo so fast.
I like to use M1000 as Focused Shot weapon, so I never use Hipster. I really like Active Stability System overclock: it keeps me mobile when using Focused Shots, and increased Focused Speed is a nice addition, too. I can live with increased Reload time, and Born Ready is a self-evident pick here. Bad thing is that currently I'm so used to enjoy ASS's benefits that it's hard for me take any other OC for my M1000 Focused Shot build.
Bodkin was a good choice for best overclock for the crossbow, though my pick is trifork volley, it’s damage is basically unmatched at 550 a shot with broad head bolts and all arrows connect, far higher then full damage jumbo shells and even the fat boy with no damage mods.
I'd say trifork would be a top tier overclock if praetorians and oppressors didn't resist pierce damage for some inexplicable reason. Still, it's great for deleting any other priority targets like wardens, menaces, goo bombers and even dreadnoughts.
@@meltymoofen I think it’s because if they didn’t, they would be deleted from the game by the boltshark, maybe trifork volley IS the reason they have resistance to pierce.
I'm very partial to gumbo shells on the broomstick idk. The utility of special powder is awesome but I feel like jumbo shells practically being a straight buff to cc and damage is incredible.
I really hope the GK2 gets a buff in the future, an extra hundred rounds in reserve would be perfect and an extra 5/10 rounds in the mag or a small damage buff. It just doesn’t have enough ammo for how weak it is. I’m an engineer main but on the rare occasion I play scout I mostly use the GK2 but it feels so weak
SBB is a considerable alternative to the immense damage boost that OPA offers. You keep most of the damage boost, boost range, making staying at a safe distance while staying effective in combat quite manageable.
Personally I think the uptime is wayyyyy too low. Take a errant shot from a teammate, or run over a lava rock and blam you've lost all your buffs. Might as well run around with area damage impact deflection for +5 damage
@@d15p4tch6 i just hope they scale the shielding with the amount of extra dmg via SBB it would fix the problem most people have with it and would be a really cool high skill oc instead of beieng tedious
@@d15p4tch6 It takes some getting used to, but I nearly never run into this problem anymore, either from teammates or from environmental hazards. You just need to learn to keep space between you and danger. Plus, Shield Link and Improved Generator help with downtime.
The fire darts are really fun with an ifg and aggressive venting. You don't have to aim (like, at all) at any of those swarming ground-based hoards, and everything dies while feared, slowed and enflamed. You can ignore the enemies and kill them at the same time, which is very satisfying, and gives a lot of extra time to look around in a fight. edit: running projectile velocity over RoF on the drak here is nice as you can shoot it well at ranged enemies and then fear nearby enemies from hitting you at the same time.
@Urazz You can grapple to an enemy like warden, oppressor or dreadnaut, power attack, and then jump-shoot out with the boomstick before getting hit. It makes your priority target-damage a lot better and cleaner than otherwise in a pinch.
My favorite oc for the zukhovs is gas recycling for the extra damage I liked to couple them with the drak with overtuned particle accelerator, before i started to use the crossbow with bodkin points, but i still like this combo nonetheless
Hipster still offends me on a weapon like the a m1000 just at it's core lol, Apparently a semi precision rifle is a repeater rifle :P GK: It'sa shame bullets of mercy is so good becasue overtuned firing mechanism and stability engine are fun M1000: Hoverclack for fun. And my friend is fantastic at the sniper overclock, but you have to be spot on with shots. Many of scouts "secondaries" just feel like more primaries anyways Drak: Thermal Exhaust Feedack, with aggressive venting being fun as well Boomstick: Stuffed Shells, with Jumbo if I am feeling saucy Zhukovs: thank god Embedded Detonators existed or I would never use these Crossbow:Bodkin, and sometimes Specialist if I want my special ammo to actually do something

No matter what you do with hipster you'll no longer be able to do all of these things. Granted hipster gives a lot of upsides, but I always end up gravitating away from it.
please dont put the shield battery boost oc for the drak 25 in your worst oc list. its a super overclock for experienced drak users. you can build an instand kill and manual shield reload build with it wich is kind of op in my opinion because you can still deal massive damage on long range and have a lot of dps left if your shield is not on 100% the biggest problem is shield disruption wich makes it useless. they are other overclocks wich are more worse than this.
