  • Bass fishing is complicated and there are a ton of ways to rig lures. The Mojo Rig has been around a while and has its place, just like a split shot. Check out John Crews' explanation on these 2 rigs and what he throws.

    Good video!!! Definitely explains the difference & how to rig & apply the technique. I recently got acquainted with the jika rig, Gika rig by Gamakatsu. The 2/0 EWG hook with the 1/8oz weight is deadly around my neck of the woods. Last weekend I threw a Baby D Bomb on it. Not much luck but they wanted a Grande Fishing 5"Airtail Rattler instead. That worm stands straight up and down. I didn't have any Quivers then. But I got some today and plan to use them in 12 hrs from now. I prefer to go to a Ned Bomb too when I need a backup. Bluetonium is my color of choice but I like fishalicious when it's the right condition.

    Lol being born in San Antonio I feel sometimes like I “have to” throw a Texas rig. Thank you for all this info it’s very helpful and easy to understand

    The mojo rig is so good. It’s very versatile and makes for a great rig in grass or on rocky bottoms. You can fish so many baits on it as well. You can even just cast and retrieve it like a spinnerbait.

    Baby D-Stroyer on either C-Rig or Mojo is a bass catching machine!!! It catches size and numbers. Can’t wait for more colors. Need some in plum apple and mean green pumpkin or goby please

    How about using a twist weight?

    I've tried the mojo and caught fish with it, however, the challenge is you can't cast it nearly as far as you can a t-rig or jig, including shaky heads. Also, with the rubber in the weight, it seems to pick up the mucky weeds more and you can't tell if the weight or the bait is fouled as easily as you can with a t-rig or jig. I guess the mojo is best on a hard, non-rocky bottom which is rare so ????

    Just saw your boat walk through on bassmaster and when your sitting at the console how are you setting up your hummingbird and lowrance when scanning and using total scan and 2d sonar?

    • @JohnCrews
      @JohnCrews  3 роки тому

      Side scan on both, maps on both, 2D on Lowrance, mega down on Humminbird

    I try to use the split shot alot but have problems with it sliding up the line... Does not matter line size.. And yes i make sure i close it at the right spot. Even in the middle of the weight. So i use a bobber stopper.. Is there anything that i can do differently... Seems i am the only one that has this issue

    • @JohnCrews

      Maybe try different split shots. Some have better teeth to bite
