It’s ok to be a Skateboarder. Society hasn’t bridged that gap in this generation and in my opinion I think Davonte Jolly did that. I have t watched every skate video ever produced but if I was a kid and needed something to believe in it would be skateboarding. The work and effort into something like this I couldn’t even imagine...and to think this is their career. I’d say it beats sitting at a desk all day.
Nine Club podcast has made technical skateboarding knowledge accessible to the unwashed masses. Their discussions have furthered my interest in skating by a degree of 10 at least.
The way this video is edited with the music is amazing! Listening to the beats line up with the tricks was amazing. It wasn't just a video where people are skating to music and that is the scene. A lot of time was put into the music for Godspeed and it shows
I wonder if the wood on top of the car wash is still there from Milton's kickflip. If everyone uses the same wood to jump off, it needs to be in a skate museum.
If you look at Midler's instagram, he posted a closeup picture in front of the carwash spot on October 6th in the same fit... so they were holding onto the clip for a couple months -- crazy foreshadowing for the ender lol
Please get Jolly on for an interview! Ask him when A Day w/the Homies will return. When I started skating in 2016(a great year for UA-cam) Jolly became one of my favorite creators. Those dudes became my favorite skaters.. Nak, Kev B., Kev W., Aramis, TJ.. love this video. Please get Jolly on I remember in an UA-cam live circa 2017 he said he was working on something big. & that's why A Day w/the homies hasn't been dropping.. along w/other filming gigs he was getting. Baker 3 was the first skate video I ever watched. If holds a special place for me. But this got me so fuckin hyped and havent skated in a long time. This might be #1
when he did that lipslide on that curved rail dope as fuck i was like this dude is about to enter light speed fucking warp drive what ever you want to call it the wind almost ripped his shirt off just saying beast
Agree with the HD. It brought to the screen how impressive it would be in person. I think it’s really easy for the laymen to not understand the difficulty, even think they could maybe do it. The HD made it all clear.
As a fairly new skater, been skating for about 2 years, I've really tried to get into watching video parts. Sometimes I find them kind of draggy, mostly due to the fact the style and such isn't what I'm used to seeing on Instagram and whatnot. I've watched this part every day for the past like week. This part was a massive transition from older parts, to what new parts can be. Incredible
As someone who sticks their tongue out while skating and playing basketball. you don't realise you're sticking your tongue out until you look back at your clips. It's a total unconscious thing your brain does
When Midler smiths the long corner rail they talk about how he "hops" but they didn't put the next angle clip where he actually goes up to 50/50 down the last part! The first one with the "hop" was a different try. 😮 What a beast!
@@ValleNation Well...I think it would be easier (as if) for a regular stance skater. Like, I dont know.... JOSLIN. A goofy skater would have a harder time.
@@pierrearr I cant recall exactly but I think Miltons kickflip was about a year ago. Once the ground is broken, is open doors for heavy hitters like that insane back 360. A hardflip down that thing seems like a natural step. Whatever, its not an easy task.
just because a few dudes put heavy tricks like a flip and a back 3 doesn’t mean everyone is going to put tricks down there, remember Milton broke the shit out of his leg, that spot is no joke, similar to davis gap, I mean its doable ish, but i mean is insane so don’t hope to see a lot of tricks down that thing

its so early but i agree Midlers gonna pop off 2021

It’s edited really well, thee beat of the music in perfect time with them landing the tricks. Great job.
To me the video captured the last 30 years of real street skating perfectly. Every skater in the video we’re straight savagery.
When he pushed that dude with the dog after walking into the spot they got kicked out of i kinda was sad for the dog. It looked so scared 😔
Fr this video inspired me to go back out and skate with the homies again after a lil hiatus
