- The LSU Tigers hosted the Florida State Seminoles for Game 1 of the Baton Rouge Super Regional. The winner of this best of 3 series would move on to the College World Series in Omaha.

@@BlackConnection337 I hope your right. We did choke last year. And it killed me. We had 9 guys drafted off of last year's team. That lost the world series. I thought we were a year away from this. The bulk of our team are under classmen, Not eligible for the draft. And still 7 guys got drafted. With the number 1 recruiting class coming in next year. And with a complete indoor facility for baseball being built, and ready for next year. The recruits will just keep coming. See, we've seen we can't compete in football. So we've spent millions, on top of millions on baseball. The dividends will start to pay off. GO HOGS.

I honestly felt bad for the Arkansas team and fans, for how they lost the CWS. My brother in law, is from Arkadelphia. 2nd baseman wanted to be the hero that got the last out, and cost them game 2. I hope Arkansas pulls it off this year.

Help the British baseball fan out lads. Why have Florida state got no rank number? But LSU have seen it in a few super regional as well?
The way the tournament works is that there are 64 teams placed into 16 regionals, 4 teams placed in each regional. The 4 teams in each regional are seeded 1-4, and the number 1 seeds are seeded 1-16 overall. LSU was a number 1 seed (#13 overall), and Florida State was a 3 seed in regional play (outside the top 16). Both teams won their respective regionals last weekend, and the only seed number ESPN carries on broadcasts is the overall seed number. So basically, any team outside the top 16 will not have a seed number next to their name on the broadcasts.
Cheers for that lads. Makes perfect sense now. I enjoyed it so far I'm new to college baseball watch AA and AAA and MLB daily but this is still an impressive level. I do like the ranking system and the way it works.

Florida State's coach is retiring after the end of the year. He has been there coach for 40 years. They wasn't ranked all year really. But the team got hot at the end and made it this far. Florida State's playing our team next and there a national Cinderella story in college baseball. I'm hoping the story ends with us,
@@navalhistoryhub3748 I love American baseball, but I watch a lot of British t.v. can you please help me with the rules of Cricket? I want to understand the game, but it just escapes me? So here's my biggest question, if I score 100 runs in 95 pitches. Then the other team has only 95 pitches to beat the 100 runs. And if that's true? Why can't the other team burn pitches that they know can't be hit? I just really don't get it. I watch highlights of test matches on UA-cam but never got to see a game from beginning to end. I think that would really help me get my head around the game.
