Its so nice to see Gustav Mahler as concertmaster
Am I the only one who wants to listen to this beautiful symphony but can't get past repeating this excellent 1st movement over and over?
If you haven't done so already, I urge you to disable the repeat button , and continue on your journey to the end of this magnificent symphony. You can thank me later.
I'll be honest... when I'm on my bike at 6 am....I kinda need that 4th movement. It's musical caffeine.
Lucky you I'm stuck on the first note.
it was the theme of the Brit TV series "The Flaxton Boys"
Same here. The first movement is like a world full of hopes.
0:21 I. Allegro
4:55 II. Larghetto
9:05 III. Gavotta. Non troppo allegro
10:51 IV. Finale. Molto vivace
Sain is going out and he has some kind 👧🏻 in his house 🏠 p
The absolute, hands-down, favorite piece of my growing up years. My paternal grandfather, a contemporary of Prokofiev, enjoyed listening to it, my father, and now me.
Enthusiasm shown by conductor, orchestra and audience alike. Prokofiev allows the 2nd flute, the 2nd oboe, the 2nd clarinet & the 2nd bassoon (and not just the principals) to play a full part. Nice performance!
It's like a movie that suddenly switches gears halfway through. Fantastic.
Like you are on the wings of a beautiful big bird, flying over a sunny country and look down to see that everybody is dancing.
What a joyful and pleasant piece of music ! Conducted by a cheerful François Leleux, even the musicians enjoyed themselves there, and it showed !
Ich liebe Musik von Prokofjew.
Prokofiev Symphonie No.1 The Classique - This is such a gentle approach and beautifully presented by Sinfonieorchester.
I’m really enjoying listening to this music very relaxing and easy to listen to. I think Sergei Prokofiev doesn’t get his fame and glory as much as he should, especially with this Symphony. Its so beautifully composed, in my opinion anyway. It’s a very dainty and very full on presentation.
Above and beyond excellent the conductor and his orchestra completely aced it. All together they were all a good fit
A master conductor.
Wind section was marvelous, flute musicians, amazing, and young.
This is an excellent recording, you can literally hear every instrument individually, or just as a whole if you want. Such a clear recording.
Marvelous performance. The conductor brings out lines in the instrumentation I’ve not heard so clearly in any other performance. All superb solos throughout the orchestra. 2nd movement is lovely...talk about cantabile playing. So rich and expressive. One of Prokofiev’s more accessible works (composed on a dare, I believe) and with all of his characteristic mischievousness. What a delightful surprise to hear this performance this afternoon.
It's obvious that the audience loved this fantastic performance. I never tire of this piece.
Love the conductor, everything worked for me. Virtuoso performances across the board!
bravo M. Prokofiev, et M. Leleux quelle joie et quelle énergie!!
This is a symphony you should play every morning when you awaken
Listening at 4:47 am with tears in my eyes… and I saw your comment. Cheers!
Fantastic! Leleux gets across a very clear, graceful concept of the work to a very receptive ensemble. One of those occasions when you feel the excellent chemistry between conductor and orchestra.
A real gem of a Symphony. Excellent performance by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Conductor is new to me, and I like him, as do the members of the Orchestra.
He is a famous Oboist turned Conductor
Superb flute and oboe
They made it sound absolutely ebullient fresh! Excellent! PWG
It seems to me that the TV director doesn't know this work. He misses so many of the wonderful solos that Prokoviev gave teh orchestra - too many time the camera is on players at rest.
Bravissimo!!!! Flutes are my favourite!!!
Merci
The best Prokofiev #1 I've ever heard.
Hello! I just want to share with you my Symphonic Poem! I m very inspired by russian Orquestal Music! Hope you will enjoy it ua-cam.com/video/FtgOpfUirT4/v-deo.html
I think I agree. But there’s also the Los Angeles chamber orchestra version here on UA-cam. It’s quite good.
vivacious, exciting, dynamic - what wonderful interpretation and execution!!
This is an interesting "take" on this favorite, exposing some lines in the score I'd never noticed before, and featuring some individual nuances reflecting the conductor's view which I found effective. I had not heard of him; now I'll do some research.
Nicely stated.
Simply the best.
great ensemble, beautiful music
Leloux really seems to love and appreciate his orchestra!
Amazing
Fantastica.
This captivating symphony invigorates the human spirit
Bravi!Maestro Leleux amazing musician and conductor!

Beautiful Gavotte, 3rd movement, at 9'05", short but outstanding.
quelle légèreté quelle finesse bravissimo l orchestre et françois
3:10 Gustav Mahler as concertmaster, 3:15 Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Claude Debussy as flautists
On a serious, happy note… they joy from the musicians simply radiates and can be felt even from the screen. I’m guessing they enjoyed Leleux’s conducting this piece. Especially the Oboes and flutes 😃
Adore the Larghetto!
Beautiful! Richly executed, highly talented ensemble, thanks
Awesome! Thank you very much!
This is too fantastic for words!!
im major in oboe now and if i was an oboist in that orchestra and play with Leleux?😂 i will might wanted to go home as soon as possible😂😂😂😂
LOVE THIS!!!
Excellent!!!
Resultado brilhante! Obrigado
Eine wirklich sehr schöne Interpretation.
What a great bunch of players! Super perf. And an amiable conductor to boot!
Very well played. I assume it's very special for the orchestra's oboe players to be conducted by Leleux, the god of oboe...
Albrecht Mair ??
@@georgedoherty4651 Albrecht who...?
Ah, probably you meant Albrecht Mayer, solo oboist of Berlin Philharmonic. ;)
Well, he is certainly one of countless very good oboists worldwide. Absolutely unnecessary to establish a ranking.
The first cellist is also first cellist with the CBSO!
Grazie.
Bravo!
Delightful!
@2:42
Anyone curious to see the celli's bow stroke and disappointed, not to see it?
Interesting and unusual interpretation
So ironic to see Gustav Mahler playing the violin in 09:22 :D
BRAVO et MERCI !
King of the Sun in symphonism
Fantastic! Bravo!
Is it just me or does the concertmaster look a bit like Gustav Mahler, and the principal flute like Claude Debussy...
Also, I can't imagine what it must be like playing oboe in an orchestra conducted by Francois Leleux!
Funny you should mention that. I always thought the principal flautist looked like a young Claude Debussy.
Clones? 🤔
Name of Sebastian Wittiber
Magnífica interpretación!!!..qué orquesta por Dios!!!
Excellent playing
Mega cool
La alegría de vivir.
wow no one clapped in between movements...we've come a long way guys
Very catchy music!
BELLA SINFONIA
"En el periodo de entre guerras, están los quePor un lado vuelven a mirar al pasado, los neoclásicos y los que se lo quieren cargar todo. Y algunos que apuntan a los dos bandos, por ejemplo Sergei Prokofiev".
iii exce lente !!!
Muy bueno todo, excepto el director de TV,que parece no querer mostrar a todos los músicos y sus solos.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This symphony is weird, but quite charming.
How is it weird
@@karespratt5131 Unusual
What's not to like ?
👏👏👏👏👏👏
There's so much Haydn in it, transformed though wonderfully, ironically
Yes, the taste of the 18,s century music phrases are clear in the symphony which is not good, it's somthing like eating ice-cream with fish

@@makyhsmakyhs6766you don't understand the Prokofiev's humor.
@@jakelucas5944 thanks maybe . . you are his relative from Russia !
@@jakelucas5944 I have made this comment 2 years age , your reply came very late ! 😂
@@makyhsmakyhs6766 No, I'm not his relative. I'm an ordinary musician. This imitation of Haydn is one of the sweet manifestations of Prokofiev's humor, which all musicians know about.
Who are the flutists?
Thierry Warot he plays the baguette? Imagine how well he plays the croissant!

Lmao who Else is watching this for Music class Lmaoooo
Yup, haha.
Yea me too
I only recently realise Bach's Sinfonia To Cantata 29 almost certainly influenced or inspired Prokofiev in his composing of this symphony, and this is especially clear in the version of the Sinfonia by Eugene Ormandy. - ua-cam.com/video/-Q4KZnZlHfA/v-deo.html
