Contrary to what a good amount of viewers seem to feel based on comments, I think Etali is sweet and I always enjoy seeing a deck pop off and doing what it was supposed to do.
I think decks that are an easy build around with an obvious strategy doesn't prevent them still being fun to watch as after a time, most decks are that.
I've enjoyed seeing both the new Jin-Gitaxias and this Etali deck go off in the past week on your channel. Thanks for the vids even when its not your deck getting to do its thing.
The deck was really popular last week. Now it’s being hated on. I guess you just can’t please Magic fans.
It certainly is a fun Commander and I’m glad you enjoy the videos, even if I don’t end up winning in the end.
I’m inclined to agree with you but I’m also a Gruul player at heart lol
Unfortunatly Blade of Selves does absolutly nothing in a 1v1, seems to be a deck for multiplayer from opponent
I also have an Etali Clones deck and when it pops off you gotta get that second and third playmat for your board.
That new Etali is something else, better than old Etali in almost every way.
For only one extra mana and no rarity shift.

why selvala trigger when he creates a copy of etali pq? It's power is not greater then those of other creatures, it's equal.. same for helm of the host and so on..
Selvala's ability will trigger whenever a creature enters a battlefield, it then checks whether the creature has greater power than every other creature.

Etali is a bit if a training wheels commander imo
I feel like Etali is one of the worst new Legends. Every build I see runs the same, all focused on the exile card side and blinking. I was awed when I first saw it, but not it reminds me of Maelstrom Wanderer, big and dumb creature on easy mode
I wouldn’t call it the “worst” legend but it’s certainly nothing new. Then again, most of the double legends are just combining archetypes
It is pretty easy to build. But at the same time, not every commander has to be ultra complex and full of arithmetic.
I think it’s a great legendary. It’s wide open for possibility but of course anything ‘optimized’ may seem uninspired if it’s the new hotness or you’ve seen it around the block multiple times.
Enjoy the gameplay but Etali is boring to watch
