Every season since Dino Charge has had potential, but they all eventually returned to the same Nickelodeon Era formula. This direction for the franchise has been frustrating.
Weird fact I found out. Dino Fury was originally ordered as a 22 episode season and 2022 was gonna have a final single season before the reboot. No Super Season'/Season 2 extra but a done-in-one season ala Jungle Fury just with less episodes. Hasbro later changed thier minds and ordered a total of forty four episodes which would then result in the reboot. According to Bennett, two-thirds of Season 1 were written by that point so they had to backtrack hard. It's why everything felt so rushed during the first half like getting all five Rangers in the span of four episodes. The entire reason that Season 1 doesn't have a proper ending (the final episode ends with the Rangers off to fight a Sporix and the Christmas finale isn't even a proper conclusion) was because they had to pull something out of their ass at the last minute. Why did they change thier minds? It's not been confirmed but my guess is both the split from Nick and time restraints. Hasbro doesn't need to obey anyone but themselves anymore and they aren't half-assing the reboot with a cartoon, a traditional Power Rangers series, other TV shows, and kid's shows. The production crew are still in the process of making the reboot so I'd imagine that they don't have time to come up with a new plot, new cast, picking a Sentai season to adapt and negotiating with Toei etc. For once, it seems that the executive bullshit was had an actual positive effect on the end product. Imagine if this season ended with Aiyon as he was. It'd be the worst season since Megaforce.
Personally I believe that Zayto is a representation of a real leader. Think about it, he has to make hard choices in the moment and sometimes those choices have consequences. He cannot foresee those consequences but he does have to deal with them as they come. So he's not a questionable character/leader he's more realistic if anything. Also his character's dad like behavior is a fish out of water experience since he's been asleep for millions of years. He very well can't dwell on the past because that time has been over and done with. He does revisit his past especially in the first few episodes of the season. However, he knows he can only do so much with that Aiyon does bring a more serious story to Zaytos' past. However, like I said that's the cost of being a leader, you don't get it right every time. Aiyon proves his inability to lead but still questions Zayto. That part is also understandable because he wears his trauma on his sleeves where as Zayto cannot do that. As the leader he must remember the past but not dwell on it like Aiyon does
I agree. Instead of ppl looking for bloody race or gender or sexuality representation how about they actually look at the real deal. Meaning good characters or real characters. Nit treating their race nor sexuality as the only thing. There had been red rangers that been to tough times. Like Jason, Andros, the, Jack, Mac, Troy and or any reds in general but with zayto I isn't only at the same level but even 1 level deeper cause the monsters were his creations and him making many mistakes where he have trauma for it where he is ashamed for his actions works so well and makes his character standout not only the most in the show but out of all reds in my opinion
I love Ollie's contrast to Billy. Billy was not confident at first, but became more so and kept his kind nature and smarts intact as he grew. With Ollie, he's already confident and a bit of an arrogant geek. Yet, he never loses that and starts to use this side of him more for sarcasm rather than outright narcissism.
Exactly this. I think Zayto's writing is highly consistent and fitting, and actually very good. He's a soldier first, and a friend second. That means following orders without question and putting faith in your superiors. He thinks like a commander, not a loved one. Because that's what he is. Someone needs to make the hard decisions and then live with them. You can tell he still has a heart, and emotional conflict, and many, many doubts about himself, under his cool exterior; But for the most part he hides them. He tries to project that cool exterior, because as a leader you need to appear confident and unwavering, to ensure the people that follow you will never doubt your decisions, and will always believe under your guidance , they'll make it through to the other side victorius. You need to be the rock for your team, the anchor that keeps them safe through the roughest waves. And certainly with Season 2, Zayto displayed that's he's more than willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to account for his past mistakes. Infact he seems so eager sometimes that you very much get the sense he wants it to end, to redeem himself, and finally have peace from his inner conflicts: "No Zayto, you'll be destroyed!" "Let me do this! I have to do this!".
Megaforce had some bad acting at times, but jesus Christ, the clips I have seen if this show, it's like watching a highschool production, just bad😂the gold rangers acting alone
I thought it was just me at first I know the gold ranger actor it's his first role but man it's pretty bad to me at least and some other characters as well wished they'd pick people that dont sound like they're reading off a script
I'm still laughing at the idea that the name of this series is basically *_Dinoo_* Thunder and Jungle *_Fury_* combined into one. Really creative naming convention you got there guys. Really good stuff. LOL
Dino Fury you could argue is the last season of a Neo Saban connection.Despite Nick not making Samurai to Beast Morphers they still had a say in the matter. Like the every season being around 20 episodes. Most likely things being resolved so quickly might be a Nick thing. They could change that in season two if they wanted but unlikely cause why change a shows structure half way through. Hasbro won't have any more links to the Neo Saban era after Dino Fury.
@Madrid Studio the character arcs kinda felt stagnant. The red samurai ranger basically has to be taught to value his teammates every episode until he was left alone and even then most of the powers given to the samurai rangers didn’t really help in developing their team dynamic. Most if not all powers only had one iteration. This would be somewhat fine if they didn’t try to make every episode be essentially “ you need to work as a team” when every power they acquired were either available for one dude at a time or were single handedly piloted by one guy half the time. Being critical of this season hurts because it was the one I think I actually paid attention to the most besides megaforce (that also is sadly a poorly written series), but after following up RPM, they really need to step up their writing game. This has been one of my many rants on a Kids show. Sorry for wasting so much of your time, but I hope you enjoy my comment.

Honestly when it comes to story, Hasbro doesn't really care unless its one that the writers would want to tell, hence why the IDW comics had "More than meets the eye" or with that new My Little Pony show or movie thing having a nazi parallel being pretty direct. Hasbro lets writers do whatever they want, if the writing is bad or subpar they role with it then negotiate for better reigns on the project before easing up again like what happened with RID 2015 and Cyberverse, RID15 was hot garbage for the most part and tried to slowly reel it in over the course of its airing until the last season where it became extremely toy focused, so Cyberverse was really tight gripped until the midpoint of season 2 heading into Season 3. I think Power Rangers is riding that line of mediocrity right now where Hasbro is still mostly letting the writers do their thing, and the direction Hasbro is wanting to go is where older fans would want, but the writers still working under them are still connected to the NeoSaban era of writing where its more of an anthology-like series with a few episodic episodes. I feel if more critisism like this is given Hasbro will step in and try to drive it into a better direction since they have better say and they just want to find where the money flows.
There were a lot of good points made here. Dino Fury overall is enjoyable, but I do agree, you can't hide behind mandates. If you know you can't do it justice, don't do it, so I definitely agree with the Sporix reveal.
Oddly enough, Warden Carlos Garcia has some weird behind the scenes factoids. Firstly, he's played by the same actor who voiced Bork from SPD and was married to Katrina Devine/Marah until they later divorced. Random as hell choice but okay, he isn't bad in the role. Considering Josephine Davison voices Solon in Dino Fury, I'm beginning to think that someone at Hasbro really likes SPD. Also, he was originally supposed to be a Sheriff (hence his weird attire for a park warden and why his hut looks like a police station). Why was this changed? Because Dino Fury was in pre-production around the time of George Floyd's death and the rise of the BLM Movement so they decided it would be in poor taste at best.
As a queer PR fan, I was very excited for Izzy as the green ranger and I loved how they handled her coming out. However, we should have had it sooner and we should have more and different kinds of representation in the future
@ladyofthesith2833 For real. I hope not too long. They usually do it in comics first. They introduced their first gay character in 2018 and 3-4ish years later we got Izzy. Currently, there's the Death Ranger who's nonbinary so I'm hoping we'll get a trans character on a show in the next few years
i honestly love the older seasons up until rpm, samurai and megaforce were ok and had acceptable plots to me but to me there biggest downside was there god-awful acting and very clear marketing towards 5yo when we literally just left a post apocalyptical world where most of the human life has died do to bad air contamination lmao. dont think dinofury really is that good but to each their own. (btw i do watch some of the sentai versions and i had hope for this season but yet again it turns into crap.)

@@Shadow-yx1fo Yes but after RPM you’d suspect the 2010 Era seasons would take notes (and especially inspiration) from RPM, but no they just had to pander to the young audience. But with Beast Morphers and Dino Fury it’s slowly taking inspiration from not just RPM but Dino Charge.
It makes sense as cable is dying and streaming is getting popular. Plus for power rangers, nick barely advertise it and you need to wake up 8am to watch the episodes.
I have to agree with you. I agee that Dino Fury's biggest problem is that the show is too ambitious for its own good; I applaud the team for wanting to go big and trying to do so, but they're just not at the skill point to really pull off something like Lost Galaxy or Lightspeed Rescue successfully. The end result is writing that tends to get heavy-handed and lost in its own mythology and lore. Either the team needs to go back to something simple and build off from there to get to this point or get a new team to properly execute these ambitious ideas for Power Rangers. I don't hate Dino Fury, though; it's a marked improvement from Neo-Saban, despite falling into some of the same trappings as those seasons, but I think Beast Morphers is better than Dino Fury (so far). And it has great moments, characters, and episodes I like... and again, while the execution isn't that great, I applaud the efforts for trying to go big with the storytelling. However, this is probably going to be my final time watching Power Rangers; with the move to Netflix, I cannot follow, because I have no money (or interest) for Netflix... so, that's the end of it for me, except for videos like this.
Dino Fury is a good example of trial and error in many ways. The mediocre crap of Super Charge and (Super) Ninja Steel which was Mighty Morphin with a new gimmick is gone. Bennett (weird choice of show-runner aside) is at least trying something different. I actually like Dino Fury slightly more than Beast Morphers because Ryusoulger is much less constrictive of an adaptation source. If they took the Morph-X out of BM, nothing would make any sense as much of Go-Busters relied upon it. in Dino Fury, almost no Sentai footage aside from the Zord fights are used because there was little usable footage to begin with (most episodes ignored the Minosaurs for the Ryusoulgers until they had to resolve them). They were forced to do something different or abandon Ryusoulger altogether and they couldn't because Kiramager was also very heavily reliant upon scenes with the unmorphed Kiramagers and the other series unadapted like Kyuranger and LuPat have been debunked for various reasons.
@@lorddrayvon1426 I do agree that this era of Power Rangers is more exciting, since we've pretty much moved past making every season MMPR with a new gimmick; from what I've heard, Season 2 of Dino Fury proved me wrong and the writing got a lot sharper, so good on the writers I'm not sure about all of that, to be honest; yes, I can see the challenge with some seasons like Kiramager, but I don't think it's impossible to do something different with these other seasons, despite what's in the footage... I think something can be done with seasons like Kiramager, but it will just take the nessecary skill, planning, and budget... which I think Hasbro is willing to spend the money on But that's just my thoughts on it... hoping whatever this new "Cosmic Fury" is turns out to be something good

I think Izzy, Jane and Jborg had the highlights in this season just as much as Roxy and Steele did in Beast Morphers. The young actress portraying Izzy ,Tessa Rao does a fabulous job.
As a bisexual person I think Izzy and Fern were handled well. They were treated as normal people who loved each other. Power Rangers definitely isn’t commenting on homophobia, but they are presenting LGBTQ normalization through these characters and that much for me is very admirable. Let’s hope they don’t sink into any unfortunate tropes like having them break up or killing off Fern for Izzy’s development. Let’s also hope we get more and more queer characters in the future, though if “one queer couple per season” becomes a status quo and is consistently handled well I would at least be satisfied.
I'm confused about people getting mad at izzy because power rangers has always been have representation in the shows (mostly race but its still there). I don't care the argument since I find characters more important first than anything else.
I honestly don't care about representation, but the girl playing Izzy is basically carrying this show. She's the most natural actor on the cast. The others are Ninja Steel levels of bad.

What's funny is that post-Megaforce Power Rangers handles representation of a minority better than shit like Ghostbusters 2016 or Captain Marvel. Having a different gender ace\sexuality etc doesn't make a compelling character. In fiction, it's supposed to be seasoning on an already well developed cake rather than the whole jacket potato. Sad day when one realises that.
PR Dino Fury is doing something different Atmosphere wise. And I feel that Season 1 was merely a test of popularity. The villains are great. The rangers are cool, and the plot so far has been awesome and attractive

I'm late to the party so I'll just add my 5 cents. Dino Fury for me is an aggressively average season right now. It's not particularly good or bad just average. I really hope they fix Zayto in season 2 because right now I'm putting him out there for worst Red Ranger based on how his character makes decisions, I felt sorry for him with the reveal but when it came to Ollie's mother that was flat out reckless, like how was he to guarantee the space she was trapped in was hospitable to humans if this were a different series that whole ordeal could've ended a lot differently. Ollie, I'm totally confused by what they want to do with his character if someone can explain it to me because other than not believing in the supernatural and loving technology I really don't know what the exact end goal is for him. Amelia, I like her character but they've failed to play with her love of the supernatural to make her much more interesting right now to me it just seems more like a gag than a character trait. Izzy, probably the only character given any real focus but sometimes they write her so annoyingly it's not the actresses fault just some of her lines make me cringe like the skirt joke, doesn't make me laugh because they've been female rangers who don't where skirts so it's not clever or funny. Javi, wants to be a musician but his father won't let him. That's it, I have nothing else to say about him. Aiyon, this is the ranger who bothers me most. Because of how they've written him. They shouldn't have written his and Zayto's relationship like the more friendly Jaden and Antonio and made it more like Wes and Eric. Think about this for a second. Even though Zayto didn't create the sporx, he gave his approval when Aiyon was strictly against it. That decision resulted in countless deaths Aiyon might have even lost his family if he had one. There should've been far more friction between the two. This is not a situation that is swept under the rug simply because being a leader is hard. Their conflict and reconciliation should've been the back bone of this series but it just looks like wasted potential now. Void Knight, the moment his lover/crush/girlfriend/wife was revealed I knew he wasn't going to be the main villain of this series, hope they have the balls to end his story not on a happy feel good redemption like Jungle Fury did with it's villain but a tragedy like samurai did with Dyu and Decker. All in all an average series will watch season 2 hope it's better. Because this series has huge potential.
I don't want Void Knight's story to end on a bad note like Decker from Samurai. I would much rather let him have a redemption arc with a happy ending like Jarod from Jungle Fury.
Speaking as a member of the LGBT community, I have to disagree on representation being necessary or important. That sentiment has always lead to tokenism in my experience. Stories stand or fall on their own merits, I don't want to see a part of myself just inserted for its own sake. Dino Fury does it right. It's a natural addition that feels like it belongs, and that's why I liked it. Even saying that, I would have been happy with nothing, and I'd actually prefer nothing if the goal is just representation. Just write good stories, if there's LGBT representation then awesome.
That's what I've felt too, but as a Latino. It seems that whenever companies or people do something involving "Minority" culture, I guess you can call it, it's just pandering and if the product is bad they use us as a shield.
Diversity is a good thing in my opinion. Diversity leads to diverse mind sets, something that’s especially important for the younger audience. The way I see it, it doesn’t need to be justified
I'm not part of the LGBT community but I'm legit surprised that Izzys partner actually came back after the reveal instead of disappearing. Kinda wish we got her name prior to the reveal though...unless I missed it somehow. Ps I know that her name is Fern but we didn't get it in her debut episode

I think the dino furry rangers being involved with Zed makes sense since the Morphin masters don't seem to be affected by time so it makes sense (Aiyon including). Also the sporx where likely messed with also they where fighting a pretty dangerous enemies at the time. The personalities the red and gold ranger are two ways people can end up handling PTSD.
I personally find this season along with Beast Morphers and Dino Charge to be really enjoyable. It's not necessarily good, but it is ENJOYABLE. Especially compared to other recent modern power rangers. *Cough cough* Megaforce *cough cough.*
Dino Charge was great! I’ve seen the entire first season and some of the second, and the writing is quite good and the characters are lovable and likable! (Which is very important)
I had my doubts, especially when i first heard the theme song for this season, but i can safely say that this was a good season. If anything, it felt like a good Neo-Saban type of season. but, as always, to each their own. Let's just hope Season 2 can keep up the momentum.
Netflix should hopefully be able to give us something Nickelodeon never can: Great PR seasons with little interference - if at all - from the higher-ups of the franchise's current home. Looking at you, Samurai and Megaforce (though I did enjoy the latter for what we got, I do agree there should've been more than that)!

I hated the series at first mainly caused i didn’t feel like the cast they chose represented the rangers they acted but eventually i warmed up to them The extensive use of the original footage from Rysoulger is amazing with only music and sound changes but the megazord names are cringy as heck which is saying a lot. I think them bringing back only the bad Zed was good since Ninjago used that to some extent and its honestly something that could be used for the future

I basically agree with everything in this video. I think some of the shortcomings of the series is actually due to producers listening to the fan base, but also struggling with the behind the scenes stuff

I watch Dino Fury and PR in general for the Kickass Suit Fights and Zord Battles. I could give a rat's ass about anything else. Dino Fury is Perfect to me just from those 2 aspects alone.
You forgot to mention that in “Void Trap” the Dino Fury Rangers literally have NO idea that they blew up a machine that had a comatose person inside of it at all! I mean, granted, that machine was trying to steal power from the Morphing Grid and hurt the Rangers in the process, so I get why they'd want to destroy it in the first place, but still WHO THE F*** wrote that episode?!
It would be brilliant writing if they discover the body of the comatose person, and found out the reason of Void Knight to do that, and face the consequences of their acts..... ....but no.
I love it..but I am a 37 years old fan and am just happy my childhood show still gets attention unlike many other things from then..so I might be biased 😅
I agree with you on that. Beast Morphers was such a breath of fresh air with its fleshed out characters, well written story. a decent team up, interesting villains, and a HUGE plot twist no one saw it coming. Dino Fury on the other hand was a major step down.
@@emmanuelsebi6964 B.Morphers was a complete joke of a show.The only ep that I like was the 1st and 2nd ep from S1.I hated steel,the man was became cringey after a few eps from his debut and S2 made him hella more clingier.Devon was an "ass to decent" character but definitely not a good leader,the beast bots r just there for the cringes along with ben and betty.Heck,the only characters that I actually like from B.Morphers was the Mayor and Blaze(mainly bc of his S1 suit).As for the plot,its ok but they gotta atleast make the final battle with Evox in S2 a little bit more like a final battle.Instead,we only got a regular-ass zord battle that ended far quicker than any zord battles in B.Morphers.
While watching this I remember I went to the Wiki and saw the fact that Void Knights Actor was Whiger from Jungle Fury honestly did make me so shocked Jared Turner is really a legend
I won’t speak on how I feel about the first season until I re-watch it again from 1-21 instead of periodically. But u made great points! Clearly Saban/Nick’s mandates are seriously holding the show back and that was ever so present this past seasons. The story elements are perfectly fine but it does feel like they are forced to be undermined because Simon and the writers want to appease both Nick and the die hard fans of the show. The show DEFINITELY wants to be more, but it is being suppressed in quality by the higher ups. Needless to say, they are doing one hell of job so far despite that and if this was the best give so many restraints from the network, I’m definitely quite shocked and impressed. But I’m sure that also has to do with franchise leaving Nick n transitioning to Netflix. Nick probably cared a lot less. 🤔👍❤️😂
Considering that the show is directed towards children meaning that Hasbro has to conform to what alot of current parenting trends are it could be alot worse. I think Hasbro is fully aware that the show isn't the best they could do but given the restrictions I think that they are doing a pretty good job. Just my opinion
It is like the show wants to be In Space but it is mandated to be Nickeleon sitcom, I kinda hope that the move to netflix lets them fix the tonal issues the series has been having since Samurai
I can't agree. This is a bad season. Not a terrible one on par with _Operation Overdrive_ or _Megaforce,_ but it's _Turbo_ or _Samurai_ bad. Granted, _Beast Morphers_ was incredible and it's a tough act to follow, but it honestly feels like they aren't even trying here. First... the dino keys. They just look uncomfortably close to the transformation keys from _Megaforce._ It's never good to remind us of that. And using dino-sword mouths to chomp on them to power up just looks stupid. (Not to mention what Aiyon does with them instead, which looks vaguely obscene!) Second, everything is way too slow. Not only does the "dino mouth chomping on keys to power up" thing look stupid, it just keeps getting longer and longer as the season progresses. Instead of one or two chomps, by the end we were getting six or more in some places. The morphing sequence takes _for-freaking-ever,_ to the point where Sailor Moon herself would call it tedious! And they frequently stop for long conversations in the middle of battle, and the monsters just let them. Seriously, if the bad guys had any sense of initiative whatsoever, this team would be toast. (Ironic considering they brought back Lord Zedd, whose very first monster established itself as a credible threat by interrupting the Zord-summoning sequence!) Third, and once again unfortunately hearkening back to _Megaforce,_ dino keys and their associated powers just come out of nowhere. Heck, even in _Megaforce,_ at least Gosei would say "you now have unlocked this power" for no good reason; in here they just have new powers as the plot demands with no explanation. Need to turn invisible? Sprint around at hyperspeed like The Flash? Use X-ray vision? Never fear! There's a dino key for that which everyone knows all about despite it never having come up at any previous point. This blatant violation of Sanderson's First Law of Magic drags the show down every time they pull it out. Fourth... yeah. The characters just don't work, individually or as a team, for all the reasons given in this video. Fifth, Lord Zedd. _Beast Morphers_ pointed out that it would be a stupid idea for the villains to bring him back, and they were right. They're blatantly trying too hard to recreate the success of _Beast Morphers_ here, but while bringing back Venjix actually made sense as _RPM_ ended with a shot showing he wasn't fully gone, Lord Zedd's story reached a satisfactory conclusion. There's no good narrative reason to bring him back, so this just feels like pandering, and it's bad pandering to boot with Robert Axelrod unable to provide the voice that did so much to make Lord Zedd an effective, menacing villain.
Rita was last seen as The Mystic Mother in Mystic Force. Goldar was resurrected and killed off during the second season of Beast Morphers. It's unknown if Rito survived the Z-Wave at the end of In Space. The Zedd in Dino Fury is a clone of Zedd at his most evil. (before he married Rita)

Izzy is actually my least favorite ranger because of how people make an extra large deal about her, the skirt rip was to show something used in 6 seasons before, and with Fern I would preferred if they had a more bitter rivalry with things like Izzy leaving her in the dust in that race or having it turn out she was faking it to win it would've of an interesting grudge in having them become that.
i hate izzy, dont like her agenda at all, i said it before when it was screenshots an previews people told me i was wrong and that wasnt what they were doing but looks like i was right all along, and she's bland af too. her focus does nothing for the show or me as a viewer
I think all the reviewers/analyst are getting it all wrong about what is wrong with the current generation of power rangers. All I hear is that this character ar could have been done this specific way and the problem would have been solved as if character development is all that matters. In my opinion for any great show or movie you need three things 1) iconic characters like Jack from spd is iconic for being..his partnership with sky is iconic .....2) good direction + stakes...if the rangers are not getting in positions where the viewer really feels that they are in deep trouble it just does not work for example ..make a wish from mystic force feels like that the rangers might just lose...or in dino thunder when the rangers lose power...that just no happens anymore....Also the sound tracks are so bad in PR now..they are all kind of funny and silly that take away from the action.....3) Good character development ...it is only the third most important in my view but the current PR seasons just follow this to its worst stereotype.

I think Dino fury's been pretty good and think your being too harsh here. Like Beast morphers it does feel like I'm watching classic Power rangers again and the Zayto twist is a heavy topic I never thought I'd see Power rangers attempt to tackle again. It does recontectulize how you see him but for the better. It shows that being a leader ain't easy especially when there's people higher up on the food chain than you. It makes you wonder what he really thinks of Rafcon now. I don't think we're done with that guilt of making the choice that lead to the whole mess either, especially now that the show's off nickelodeon, having him make that heavy of a morally grey choice is something Power rangers has needed for such a long time. And although the episode wraps it up quick they do it in a pretty mature way acknowldging that while it's a hard choice a leader needs to make, Ayon was'nt wrong in questioning the decision to use the Sporix. And they followed it up pretty good by showing Zayto does feel guility about it and is haunted by the last moments of his team just as much as Ayon is.
Even thought this final episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 1 is good but I am very disappointed that we still don't have learn of Void Knight's backstory of who he is, were he got the armour, how did he know about the Sporix and who is the woman he's trying to revive. I'm hoping that everything will make sense in the upcoming Power Rangers Season 2 next year in 2022 so we can finally learn of Void Knight's origin at last.
I theorize that Void Knight and the woman he's trying to revive are actually Amelia's lost parents. I mean all they said was that her parents disappeared, never died. Also the ramgers never saw the woman's face in the finally, so they have no idea she exists. But everything else I have no clue on.
Though I don't want to get my hopes up, big agree with the endgame being fighting alongside the Sporix Beasts, or at least not going through with destroying them? From a production standpoint, I don't know how viable having so many suits on set would be these days, but it did feel a bit iffy discussing trying to wipeout your prisoners whilst they where helpless. At the very least, Mucus is there and seems at least likely to switch sides like Kreon, so involving her as a Sporix representative seems like a cheaper option and could work quite naturally given her character.
Power Rangers going into Multiverse mode...sort of. I'll take it. I think it would have had potential for bottom top 10 PR seasons. As for the Zayto character arc...well, if the new seasons weren't constantly limited to 20+2 specials...could have been fixed. Mb season 2?!
It’s too childish and doesn’t do as good or look as professional as the Disney era but it’s still a huge improvement from the neo saban era, just remember Dino Thunder, SPD, RPM seasons were not as childish as the new ones. Disney era set levels for Power Rangers which the new seasons haven’t met

Dear Lord, the "representation" pandering in these Internet reviews reminds me why fanboys have earned the stereotype of weak, wimpy man-babies living in their mom's basement.
Dino Fury is a *6/10* series, at best. 😕 It still falls prey to all the problems of the *Neo-Saban* years (Slapstick duo, written for Toddlers, goofy villains, Stepford Wives Rangers, MMPR-ish 'moral of the day' plots), but the Girl playing Green/Izzy *elevates* the series. She's actually a good actor. The others are Wooden in comparison. She's carrying the show.
The sooner you accept kids are the main target audience of Power Rangers, the more you gonna find yourself enjoying it, and I'm saying this as someone who's been a fan of the show from day 1 since childhood.
@@Roler42 Kids yes. Toddlers ... is what the Nick PR shows are written for. Simon Bennett says they're mandated to write it for those as young as 3, and it shows. And thankfully, PR is getting Rebooted on Netflix in 2023 for an older audience.
Dino fury is just another season like I don't find anything special about it, is not the worst but is far from being the best. In terms of the characters I only liked Izzy and the rest aren't that likable.
So far I'm enjoying everything from Dino fury and all the rangers already likable and we have the first ever female Green ranger and the first ranger in the LGBT community and the first time we have two African-American rangers on the same team this is history making right here in Dino fury
Pretty good season so far and more personality than BM. I just hope they keep a consistent tone and actually pull through with the "more mature" writing Netflix can allow.

I don't see it as a mess at all, it seems to be a BIT more competent & decently structured than MegaForce, (somewhat) Turbo, & Dino SuperCharge (as much as I still like Dino Charge as a whole it's Super Season was weak) those still hold titles of being a Complete Mess in my eyes. Would be nice that the whole Knight Related Elements would be a Bigger Focus than the Dinosaurs & it's given Story-Writing because it's been long overdue in having an Overall Knight Theme Season.

I wouldn’t go as far as say that Dino Fury’s writing is a mess, but it’s very inconsistent with its characters being underdeveloped, awful jokes and dialogue at times, and plot points that feel incomprehensible. I wish that the show could go back to the direction similar to the vein of Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force.

I feel like Izzy had the best focus episodes. The Matchmaker was the first episode after RPM that I felt was great and extremely well done. They missed an opportunity to have Javi stand up to his dad about his hate for music in Stego Search by writing it so the keytar in particular is what awakens the Stegozord and not the flute (which is obviously an MMPR reference). I wish Zayto was written more similarly to Andros since he did lose his planet, his team and he was asleep since before the dinosaur’s extinction, same for Aiyon because they’re happy-go-lucky personalities don’t really fit, especially with all the guilt Zayto has from the Sporix origins reveal (which I did not expect but) but that whole thing sort of faded away too fast and wasn’t utilized or brought up later like with Dr. K’s creation of Venjix. I do agree it’s frustratingly good and not terrible. Some things I liked but little changes here and there would make it better

I'm actually commenting 40 seconds in and stopping the watch there only because I don't want to be spoiled but I will say that I agree that Dino Fury is turning out to be a great season. It's actually the first installment of the Ranger franchise since RPM that I'm watching all the way through!!! Since the dumpster fire that was Samurai, I always chalked the Nickelodeon generation to be the "younger audiences" generation and never thought there would be a Nickelodeon-era season that would be this good but boy was I wrong!
Imo power ranger seasons can be a fun season, serious season, or bad season. Dino Fury falling under a fun season especially with the villains. the dynamic with void knight and mucus never fails to put a smile on my face.
Me! Even if it would have been better if they'd had multiple episodes to explore the emotional fall out, it sets up an interesting path for the plot to move forwards and adds extra context for Zayto's behaviour around failing/succeeding in his mission. And in the end it's the kind of idea and tension that PR pulled back on since Neo-Saban. Even if it's not done perfectly here, future seasons might be able to pick up from there and push further with hopefully more creative control.
Every storyline ties into one of the main characters. Novel concept for some seasons. Also I think Zayto is...pragmatic in a way. His replacing his former Rangers isn't him replacing the former Rangers, it's him realizing he can't fight the fight against the Sporix Beasts alone. Yes he wasn't forthcoming about his past, but I don't see this as Zayto just being an asshole, I imagine he has some PTSD stemming from what he went through before that and not to mention some extreme guilt because what happened was...not necessarily his fault solely, but there's some blame to share there. I don't think he's doing anything purposefully, I just think it's a mix of mental health issues (even if PR isn't mature enough to go there) and the time he was from. I don't think he understands that he can be different now and I don't think even if he did realize that, that it would be easy to change his stripes so to speak. Also just saying I can't stand Ollie. No character growth whatsoever and he doesn't have any consequences for his actions. It's super frustrating because before this there at least were some consequences, or at least a moment where the person realized "oh I f'ed up". I just wish Ollie could have enough growth to not be annoying. There's a way to write a character like his, driven, smart, without having them be a characature.

There's is a difference between the words better/worst to good/bad. As if Dino thunder is better then Ninja Storm doesn't make Ninja storm bad when best or worst are used for ranking seasons and good or bad if you would watch it again for fun. 14:40 this is a good omen if they did this on purpose, it will allow for a writer's board that seems to be run by fans to go hog wild on the seires full potential, if the rangers are to draw in new fans they can't go for just kids anymore, to go for all audiences it must go sentai, and for that Netflix is to power rangers as adult swim was for samurai jack as for the ptsd of red vs gold, he did lie about the dreams, but maybe in an episode where we see the world thru his eyes, perhaps his ptsd manifests as hallucinations that he has learned to ignore... its a netflix show now meaning all contracts need reviewed again, nothing is stopping them from having a gritty episode now, or a local cop pulling an actual gun on a sporix to protect some kids, maybe this will be green and blacks fathers redemption arch, and when he runs out of ammo the kids haft to ranger up to protect him and the kids he was protecting causing him to have an epiphany that he was a bad parent but his kids turned out ok anyway, or as a near death event he sees his life pass before his eyes, allowing for a justification of his Callus nature before he hears his kids ranger up. maybe the black knight so to speak is not the enemy, just desperate, and maybe the love of his life is not worth saving and the reason the sporix are as they are. maybe even the lover is the woman in the flashback and she teamed up with lord zed before he was corrupted again, to make the sporix.... and it is his doing that made them, and he views them as a failure, and she does too. the possibilitys are open now.
Every season since Dino Charge has had potential, but they all eventually returned to the same Nickelodeon Era formula. This direction for the franchise has been frustrating.
Thank goodness it's being REBOOTED for Netflix after DC ends.

Weird fact I found out. Dino Fury was originally ordered as a 22 episode season and 2022 was gonna have a final single season before the reboot. No Super Season'/Season 2 extra but a done-in-one season ala Jungle Fury just with less episodes. Hasbro later changed thier minds and ordered a total of forty four episodes which would then result in the reboot. According to Bennett, two-thirds of Season 1 were written by that point so they had to backtrack hard. It's why everything felt so rushed during the first half like getting all five Rangers in the span of four episodes. The entire reason that Season 1 doesn't have a proper ending (the final episode ends with the Rangers off to fight a Sporix and the Christmas finale isn't even a proper conclusion) was because they had to pull something out of their ass at the last minute. Why did they change thier minds? It's not been confirmed but my guess is both the split from Nick and time restraints. Hasbro doesn't need to obey anyone but themselves anymore and they aren't half-assing the reboot with a cartoon, a traditional Power Rangers series, other TV shows, and kid's shows. The production crew are still in the process of making the reboot so I'd imagine that they don't have time to come up with a new plot, new cast, picking a Sentai season to adapt and negotiating with Toei etc. For once, it seems that the executive bullshit was had an actual positive effect on the end product. Imagine if this season ended with Aiyon as he was. It'd be the worst season since Megaforce.

Personally I believe that Zayto is a representation of a real leader. Think about it, he has to make hard choices in the moment and sometimes those choices have consequences. He cannot foresee those consequences but he does have to deal with them as they come. So he's not a questionable character/leader he's more realistic if anything. Also his character's dad like behavior is a fish out of water experience since he's been asleep for millions of years. He very well can't dwell on the past because that time has been over and done with. He does revisit his past especially in the first few episodes of the season. However, he knows he can only do so much with that
Aiyon does bring a more serious story to Zaytos' past. However, like I said that's the cost of being a leader, you don't get it right every time. Aiyon proves his inability to lead but still questions Zayto. That part is also understandable because he wears his trauma on his sleeves where as Zayto cannot do that. As the leader he must remember the past but not dwell on it like Aiyon does

I agree. Instead of ppl looking for bloody race or gender or sexuality representation how about they actually look at the real deal. Meaning good characters or real characters. Nit treating their race nor sexuality as the only thing. There had been red rangers that been to tough times. Like Jason, Andros, the, Jack, Mac, Troy and or any reds in general but with zayto I isn't only at the same level but even 1 level deeper cause the monsters were his creations and him making many mistakes where he have trauma for it where he is ashamed for his actions works so well and makes his character standout not only the most in the show but out of all reds in my opinion

With Ollie, he's already confident and a bit of an arrogant geek. Yet, he never loses that and starts to use this side of him more for sarcasm rather than outright narcissism.
Exactly this. I think Zayto's writing is highly consistent and fitting, and actually very good. He's a soldier first, and a friend second. That means following orders without question and putting faith in your superiors. He thinks like a commander, not a loved one. Because that's what he is. Someone needs to make the hard decisions and then live with them. You can tell he still has a heart, and emotional conflict, and many, many doubts about himself, under his cool exterior; But for the most part he hides them. He tries to project that cool exterior, because as a leader you need to appear confident and unwavering, to ensure the people that follow you will never doubt your decisions, and will always believe under your guidance , they'll make it through to the other side victorius. You need to be the rock for your team, the anchor that keeps them safe through the roughest waves.
And certainly with Season 2, Zayto displayed that's he's more than willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to account for his past mistakes. Infact he seems so eager sometimes that you very much get the sense he wants it to end, to redeem himself, and finally have peace from his inner conflicts: "No Zayto, you'll be destroyed!" "Let me do this! I have to do this!".
Ngl Dino fury was the only season of power rangers that made me feel like the characters were actively reading from a script the entire time

Dino Fury you could argue is the last season of a Neo Saban connection.Despite Nick not making Samurai to Beast Morphers they still had a say in the matter. Like the every season being around 20 episodes. Most likely things being resolved so quickly might be a Nick thing. They could change that in season two if they wanted but unlikely cause why change a shows structure half way through. Hasbro won't have any more links to the Neo Saban era after Dino Fury.
@Madrid Studio the character arcs kinda felt stagnant. The red samurai ranger basically has to be taught to value his teammates every episode until he was left alone and even then most of the powers given to the samurai rangers didn’t really help in developing their team dynamic. Most if not all powers only had one iteration. This would be somewhat fine if they didn’t try to make every episode be essentially “ you need to work as a team” when every power they acquired were either available for one dude at a time or were single handedly piloted by one guy half the time. Being critical of this season hurts because it was the one I think I actually paid attention to the most besides megaforce (that also is sadly a poorly written series), but after following up RPM, they really need to step up their writing game.

Honestly when it comes to story, Hasbro doesn't really care unless its one that the writers would want to tell, hence why the IDW comics had "More than meets the eye" or with that new My Little Pony show or movie thing having a nazi parallel being pretty direct. Hasbro lets writers do whatever they want, if the writing is bad or subpar they role with it then negotiate for better reigns on the project before easing up again like what happened with RID 2015 and Cyberverse, RID15 was hot garbage for the most part and tried to slowly reel it in over the course of its airing until the last season where it became extremely toy focused, so Cyberverse was really tight gripped until the midpoint of season 2 heading into Season 3. I think Power Rangers is riding that line of mediocrity right now where Hasbro is still mostly letting the writers do their thing, and the direction Hasbro is wanting to go is where older fans would want, but the writers still working under them are still connected to the NeoSaban era of writing where its more of an anthology-like series with a few episodic episodes. I feel if more critisism like this is given Hasbro will step in and try to drive it into a better direction since they have better say and they just want to find where the money flows.
There were a lot of good points made here. Dino Fury overall is enjoyable, but I do agree, you can't hide behind mandates. If you know you can't do it justice, don't do it, so I definitely agree with the Sporix reveal.

Oddly enough, Warden Carlos Garcia has some weird behind the scenes factoids. Firstly, he's played by the same actor who voiced Bork from SPD and was married to Katrina Devine/Marah until they later divorced. Random as hell choice but okay, he isn't bad in the role. Considering Josephine Davison voices Solon in Dino Fury, I'm beginning to think that someone at Hasbro really likes SPD. Also, he was originally supposed to be a Sheriff (hence his weird attire for a park warden and why his hut looks like a police station). Why was this changed? Because Dino Fury was in pre-production around the time of George Floyd's death and the rise of the BLM Movement so they decided it would be in poor taste at best.
As a queer PR fan, I was very excited for Izzy as the green ranger and I loved how they handled her coming out. However, we should have had it sooner and we should have more and different kinds of representation in the future

i honestly love the older seasons up until rpm, samurai and megaforce were ok and had acceptable plots to me but to me there biggest downside was there god-awful acting and very clear marketing towards 5yo when we literally just left a post apocalyptical world where most of the human life has died do to bad air contamination lmao. dont think dinofury really is that good but to each their own. (btw i do watch some of the sentai versions and i had hope for this season but yet again it turns into crap.)

It makes sense as cable is dying and streaming is getting popular. Plus for power rangers, nick barely advertise it and you need to wake up 8am to watch the episodes.

I have to agree with you. I agee that Dino Fury's biggest problem is that the show is too ambitious for its own good; I applaud the team for wanting to go big and trying to do so, but they're just not at the skill point to really pull off something like Lost Galaxy or Lightspeed Rescue successfully. The end result is writing that tends to get heavy-handed and lost in its own mythology and lore. Either the team needs to go back to something simple and build off from there to get to this point or get a new team to properly execute these ambitious ideas for Power Rangers.
I don't hate Dino Fury, though; it's a marked improvement from Neo-Saban, despite falling into some of the same trappings as those seasons, but I think Beast Morphers is better than Dino Fury (so far). And it has great moments, characters, and episodes I like... and again, while the execution isn't that great, I applaud the efforts for trying to go big with the storytelling.
However, this is probably going to be my final time watching Power Rangers; with the move to Netflix, I cannot follow, because I have no money (or interest) for Netflix... so, that's the end of it for me, except for videos like this.
Dino Fury is a good example of trial and error in many ways. The mediocre crap of Super Charge and (Super) Ninja Steel which was Mighty Morphin with a new gimmick is gone. Bennett (weird choice of show-runner aside) is at least trying something different. I actually like Dino Fury slightly more than Beast Morphers because Ryusoulger is much less constrictive of an adaptation source. If they took the Morph-X out of BM, nothing would make any sense as much of Go-Busters relied upon it. in Dino Fury, almost no Sentai footage aside from the Zord fights are used because there was little usable footage to begin with (most episodes ignored the Minosaurs for the Ryusoulgers until they had to resolve them). They were forced to do something different or abandon Ryusoulger altogether and they couldn't because Kiramager was also very heavily reliant upon scenes with the unmorphed Kiramagers and the other series unadapted like Kyuranger and LuPat have been debunked for various reasons.
@@lorddrayvon1426 I do agree that this era of Power Rangers is more exciting, since we've pretty much moved past making every season MMPR with a new gimmick; from what I've heard, Season 2 of Dino Fury proved me wrong and the writing got a lot sharper, so good on the writers
I'm not sure about all of that, to be honest; yes, I can see the challenge with some seasons like Kiramager, but I don't think it's impossible to do something different with these other seasons, despite what's in the footage... I think something can be done with seasons like Kiramager, but it will just take the nessecary skill, planning, and budget... which I think Hasbro is willing to spend the money on
But that's just my thoughts on it... hoping whatever this new "Cosmic Fury" is turns out to be something good

I think Izzy, Jane and Jborg had the highlights in this season just as much as Roxy and Steele did in Beast Morphers. The young actress portraying Izzy ,Tessa Rao does a fabulous job.
As a bisexual person I think Izzy and Fern were handled well. They were treated as normal people who loved each other. Power Rangers definitely isn’t commenting on homophobia, but they are presenting LGBTQ normalization through these characters and that much for me is very admirable.
Let’s hope they don’t sink into any unfortunate tropes like having them break up or killing off Fern for Izzy’s development. Let’s also hope we get more and more queer characters in the future, though if “one queer couple per season” becomes a status quo and is consistently handled well I would at least be satisfied.
It does annoy now rangers can’t just dislike each other more than one episode SPD had a whole season about 2 rangers learning to like each other
I'm confused about people getting mad at izzy because power rangers has always been have representation in the shows (mostly race but its still there). I don't care the argument since I find characters more important first than anything else.
I honestly don't care about representation, but the girl playing Izzy is basically carrying this show. She's the most natural actor on the cast. The others are Ninja Steel levels of bad.

PR Dino Fury is doing something different Atmosphere wise. And I feel that Season 1 was merely a test of popularity. The villains are great. The rangers are cool, and the plot so far has been awesome and attractive

I'm late to the party so I'll just add my 5 cents. Dino Fury for me is an aggressively average season right now. It's not particularly good or bad just average. I really hope they fix Zayto in season 2 because right now I'm putting him out there for worst Red Ranger based on how his character makes decisions, I felt sorry for him with the reveal but when it came to Ollie's mother that was flat out reckless, like how was he to guarantee the space she was trapped in was hospitable to humans if this were a different series that whole ordeal could've ended a lot differently.
Ollie, I'm totally confused by what they want to do with his character if someone can explain it to me because other than not believing in the supernatural and loving technology I really don't know what the exact end goal is for him.
Amelia, I like her character but they've failed to play with her love of the supernatural to make her much more interesting right now to me it just seems more like a gag than a character trait.
Izzy, probably the only character given any real focus but sometimes they write her so annoyingly it's not the actresses fault just some of her lines make me cringe like the skirt joke, doesn't make me laugh because they've been female rangers who don't where skirts so it's not clever or funny.
Javi, wants to be a musician but his father won't let him. That's it, I have nothing else to say about him.
Aiyon, this is the ranger who bothers me most. Because of how they've written him. They shouldn't have written his and Zayto's relationship like the more friendly Jaden and Antonio and made it more like Wes and Eric. Think about this for a second. Even though Zayto didn't create the sporx, he gave his approval when Aiyon was strictly against it. That decision resulted in countless deaths Aiyon might have even lost his family if he had one. There should've been far more friction between the two. This is not a situation that is swept under the rug simply because being a leader is hard. Their conflict and reconciliation should've been the back bone of this series but it just looks like wasted potential now.
Void Knight, the moment his lover/crush/girlfriend/wife was revealed I knew he wasn't going to be the main villain of this series, hope they have the balls to end his story not on a happy feel good redemption like Jungle Fury did with it's villain but a tragedy like samurai did with Dyu and Decker.
All in all an average series will watch season 2 hope it's better. Because this series has huge potential.
I don't want Void Knight's story to end on a bad note like Decker from Samurai. I would much rather let him have a redemption arc with a happy ending like Jarod from Jungle Fury.

Speaking as a member of the LGBT community, I have to disagree on representation being necessary or important. That sentiment has always lead to tokenism in my experience. Stories stand or fall on their own merits, I don't want to see a part of myself just inserted for its own sake.
Dino Fury does it right. It's a natural addition that feels like it belongs, and that's why I liked it. Even saying that, I would have been happy with nothing, and I'd actually prefer nothing if the goal is just representation. Just write good stories, if there's LGBT representation then awesome.
That's what I've felt too, but as a Latino. It seems that whenever companies or people do something involving "Minority" culture, I guess you can call it, it's just pandering and if the product is bad they use us as a shield.

I think the dino furry rangers being involved with Zed makes sense since the Morphin masters don't seem to be affected by time so it makes sense (Aiyon including). Also the sporx where likely messed with also they where fighting a pretty dangerous enemies at the time. The personalities the red and gold ranger are two ways people can end up handling PTSD.

Dino Charge was great! I’ve seen the entire first season and some of the second, and the writing is quite good and the characters are lovable and likable! (Which is very important)
I had my doubts, especially when i first heard the theme song for this season, but i can safely say that this was a good season. If anything, it felt like a good Neo-Saban type of season.

Let's just hope Season 2 can keep up the momentum.
Netflix should hopefully be able to give us something Nickelodeon never can: Great PR seasons with little interference - if at all - from the higher-ups of the franchise's current home. Looking at you, Samurai and Megaforce (though I did enjoy the latter for what we got, I do agree there should've been more than that)!

The extensive use of the original footage from Rysoulger is amazing with only music and sound changes but the megazord names are cringy as heck which is saying a lot.
I think them bringing back only the bad Zed was good since Ninjago used that to some extent and its honestly something that could be used for the future

You forgot to mention that in “Void Trap” the Dino Fury Rangers literally have NO idea that they blew up a machine that had a comatose person inside of it at all!
I mean, granted, that machine was trying to steal power from the Morphing Grid and hurt the Rangers in the process, so I get why they'd want to destroy it in the first place, but still WHO THE F*** wrote that episode?!
It would be brilliant writing if they discover the body of the comatose person, and found out the reason of Void Knight to do that, and face the consequences of their acts.....

I agree with you on that. Beast Morphers was such a breath of fresh air with its fleshed out characters, well written story. a decent team up, interesting villains, and a HUGE plot twist no one saw it coming. Dino Fury on the other hand was a major step down.

I won’t speak on how I feel about the first season until I re-watch it again from 1-21 instead of periodically. But u made great points! Clearly Saban/Nick’s mandates are seriously holding the show back and that was ever so present this past seasons. The story elements are perfectly fine but it does feel like they are forced to be undermined because Simon and the writers want to appease both Nick and the die hard fans of the show. The show DEFINITELY wants to be more, but it is being suppressed in quality by the higher ups. Needless to say, they are doing one hell of job so far despite that and if this was the best give so many restraints from the network, I’m definitely quite shocked and impressed. But I’m sure that also has to do with franchise leaving Nick n transitioning to Netflix. Nick probably cared a lot less. 🤔👍❤️😂

I can't agree. This is a bad season. Not a terrible one on par with _Operation Overdrive_ or _Megaforce,_ but it's _Turbo_ or _Samurai_ bad. Granted, _Beast Morphers_ was incredible and it's a tough act to follow, but it honestly feels like they aren't even trying here.
First... the dino keys. They just look uncomfortably close to the transformation keys from _Megaforce._ It's never good to remind us of that. And using dino-sword mouths to chomp on them to power up just looks stupid. (Not to mention what Aiyon does with them instead, which looks vaguely obscene!)
Second, everything is way too slow. Not only does the "dino mouth chomping on keys to power up" thing look stupid, it just keeps getting longer and longer as the season progresses. Instead of one or two chomps, by the end we were getting six or more in some places. The morphing sequence takes _for-freaking-ever,_ to the point where Sailor Moon herself would call it tedious! And they frequently stop for long conversations in the middle of battle, and the monsters just let them. Seriously, if the bad guys had any sense of initiative whatsoever, this team would be toast. (Ironic considering they brought back Lord Zedd, whose very first monster established itself as a credible threat by interrupting the Zord-summoning sequence!)
Third, and once again unfortunately hearkening back to _Megaforce,_ dino keys and their associated powers just come out of nowhere. Heck, even in _Megaforce,_ at least Gosei would say "you now have unlocked this power" for no good reason; in here they just have new powers as the plot demands with no explanation. Need to turn invisible? Sprint around at hyperspeed like The Flash? Use X-ray vision? Never fear! There's a dino key for that which everyone knows all about despite it never having come up at any previous point. This blatant violation of Sanderson's First Law of Magic drags the show down every time they pull it out.
Fourth... yeah. The characters just don't work, individually or as a team, for all the reasons given in this video.
Fifth, Lord Zedd. _Beast Morphers_ pointed out that it would be a stupid idea for the villains to bring him back, and they were right. They're blatantly trying too hard to recreate the success of _Beast Morphers_ here, but while bringing back Venjix actually made sense as _RPM_ ended with a shot showing he wasn't fully gone, Lord Zedd's story reached a satisfactory conclusion. There's no good narrative reason to bring him back, so this just feels like pandering, and it's bad pandering to boot with Robert Axelrod unable to provide the voice that did so much to make Lord Zedd an effective, menacing villain.
So…they brought back Zedd but not Rita, Rito, nor Goldar?! I haven’t watched any of this series so far, but it seems odd to me.
Rita was last seen as The Mystic Mother in Mystic Force.
Goldar was resurrected and killed off during the second season of Beast Morphers.
It's unknown if Rito survived the Z-Wave at the end of In Space.
The Zedd in Dino Fury is a clone of Zedd at his most evil. (before he married Rita)

Izzy is actually my least favorite ranger because of how people make an extra large deal about her, the skirt rip was to show something used in 6 seasons before, and with Fern I would preferred if they had a more bitter rivalry with things like Izzy leaving her in the dust in that race or having it turn out she was faking it to win it would've of an interesting grudge in having them become that.

I think all the reviewers/analyst are getting it all wrong about what is wrong with the current generation of power rangers. All I hear is that this character ar could have been done this specific way and the problem would have been solved as if character development is all that matters. In my opinion for any great show or movie you need three things 1) iconic characters like Jack from spd is iconic for being..his partnership with sky is iconic .....2) good direction + stakes...if the rangers are not getting in positions where the viewer really feels that they are in deep trouble it just does not work for example ..make a wish from mystic force feels like that the rangers might just lose...or in dino thunder when the rangers lose power...that just no happens anymore....Also the sound tracks are so bad in PR now..they are all kind of funny and silly that take away from the action.....3) Good character development ...it is only the third most important in my view but the current PR seasons just follow this to its worst stereotype.

I think Dino fury's been pretty good and think your being too harsh here. Like Beast morphers it does feel like I'm watching classic Power rangers again and the Zayto twist is a heavy topic I never thought I'd see Power rangers attempt to tackle again. It does recontectulize how you see him but for the better. It shows that being a leader ain't easy especially when there's people higher up on the food chain than you. It makes you wonder what he really thinks of Rafcon now. I don't think we're done with that guilt of making the choice that lead to the whole mess either, especially now that the show's off nickelodeon, having him make that heavy of a morally grey choice is something Power rangers has needed for such a long time. And although the episode wraps it up quick they do it in a pretty mature way acknowldging that while it's a hard choice a leader needs to make, Ayon was'nt wrong in questioning the decision to use the Sporix. And they followed it up pretty good by showing Zayto does feel guility about it and is haunted by the last moments of his team just as much as Ayon is.
Even thought this final episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 1 is good but I am very disappointed that we still don't have learn of Void Knight's backstory of who he is, were he got the armour, how did he know about the Sporix and who is the woman he's trying to revive. I'm hoping that everything will make sense in the upcoming Power Rangers Season 2 next year in 2022 so we can finally learn of Void Knight's origin at last.
I think there definitely saving void knight's story for seasons 2.
I theorize that Void Knight and the woman he's trying to revive are actually Amelia's lost parents. I mean all they said was that her parents disappeared, never died. Also the ramgers never saw the woman's face in the finally, so they have no idea she exists. But everything else I have no clue on.

Even I also didn't like this season, it was average for me.
Though I don't want to get my hopes up, big agree with the endgame being fighting alongside the Sporix Beasts, or at least not going through with destroying them? From a production standpoint, I don't know how viable having so many suits on set would be these days, but it did feel a bit iffy discussing trying to wipeout your prisoners whilst they where helpless.
At the very least, Mucus is there and seems at least likely to switch sides like Kreon, so involving her as a Sporix representative seems like a cheaper option and could work quite naturally given her character.
Power Rangers going into Multiverse mode...sort of. I'll take it. I think it would have had potential for bottom top 10 PR seasons. As for the Zayto character arc...well, if the new seasons weren't constantly limited to 20+2 specials...could have been fixed. Mb season 2?!

It’s too childish and doesn’t do as good or look as professional as the Disney era but it’s still a huge improvement from the neo saban era, just remember Dino Thunder, SPD, RPM seasons were not as childish as the new ones. Disney era set levels for Power Rangers which the new seasons haven’t met

Dino Fury is a *6/10* series, at best. 😕 It still falls prey to all the problems of the *Neo-Saban* years (Slapstick duo, written for Toddlers, goofy villains, Stepford Wives Rangers, MMPR-ish 'moral of the day' plots), but the Girl playing Green/Izzy *elevates* the series. She's actually a good actor. The others are Wooden in comparison. She's carrying the show.

Dino fury is just another season like I don't find anything special about it, is not the worst but is far from being the best. In terms of the characters I only liked Izzy and the rest aren't that likable.

So far I'm enjoying everything from Dino fury and all the rangers already likable and we have the first ever female Green ranger and the first ranger in the LGBT community and the first time we have two African-American rangers on the same team this is history making right here in Dino fury

How do you feel about the newer series of power rangers, I feel like the older shows like time force or light speed for example felt more grounded and overall at times didn’t feel like I was watch a campy show but a show that had actual life to them. Also the action from the past shows felt more dynamic and action pact compared to the news season of power rangers, idk but I hope I’m the only one that feels this way, thoughts ?

I don't see it as a mess at all, it seems to be a BIT more competent & decently structured than MegaForce, (somewhat) Turbo, & Dino SuperCharge (as much as I still like Dino Charge as a whole it's Super Season was weak) those still hold titles of being a Complete Mess in my eyes. Would be nice that the whole Knight Related Elements would be a Bigger Focus than the Dinosaurs & it's given Story-Writing because it's been long overdue in having an Overall Knight Theme Season.

I wouldn’t go as far as say that Dino Fury’s writing is a mess, but it’s very inconsistent with its characters being underdeveloped, awful jokes and dialogue at times, and plot points that feel incomprehensible. I wish that the show could go back to the direction similar to the vein of Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force.

I feel like Izzy had the best focus episodes. The Matchmaker was the first episode after RPM that I felt was great and extremely well done. They missed an opportunity to have Javi stand up to his dad about his hate for music in Stego Search by writing it so the keytar in particular is what awakens the Stegozord and not the flute (which is obviously an MMPR reference). I wish Zayto was written more similarly to Andros since he did lose his planet, his team and he was asleep since before the dinosaur’s extinction, same for Aiyon because they’re happy-go-lucky personalities don’t really fit, especially with all the guilt Zayto has from the Sporix origins reveal (which I did not expect but) but that whole thing sort of faded away too fast and wasn’t utilized or brought up later like with Dr. K’s creation of Venjix. I do agree it’s frustratingly good and not terrible. Some things I liked but little changes here and there would make it better
I think the flute awaking the stegozord is a reference to how Tommy awakens the dragonzord.

I'm actually commenting 40 seconds in and stopping the watch there only because I don't want to be spoiled but I will say that I agree that Dino Fury is turning out to be a great season. It's actually the first installment of the Ranger franchise since RPM that I'm watching all the way through!!! Since the dumpster fire that was Samurai, I always chalked the Nickelodeon generation to be the "younger audiences" generation and never thought there would be a Nickelodeon-era season that would be this good but boy was I wrong!

Imo power ranger seasons can be a fun season, serious season, or bad season. Dino Fury falling under a fun season especially with the villains. the dynamic with void knight and mucus never fails to put a smile on my face.

Even if it would have been better if they'd had multiple episodes to explore the emotional fall out, it sets up an interesting path for the plot to move forwards and adds extra context for Zayto's behaviour around failing/succeeding in his mission.
And in the end it's the kind of idea and tension that PR pulled back on since Neo-Saban. Even if it's not done perfectly here, future seasons might be able to pick up from there and push further with hopefully more creative control.

Every storyline ties into one of the main characters. Novel concept for some seasons. Also I think Zayto is...pragmatic in a way. His replacing his former Rangers isn't him replacing the former Rangers, it's him realizing he can't fight the fight against the Sporix Beasts alone. Yes he wasn't forthcoming about his past, but I don't see this as Zayto just being an asshole, I imagine he has some PTSD stemming from what he went through before that and not to mention some extreme guilt because what happened was...not necessarily his fault solely, but there's some blame to share there. I don't think he's doing anything purposefully, I just think it's a mix of mental health issues (even if PR isn't mature enough to go there) and the time he was from. I don't think he understands that he can be different now and I don't think even if he did realize that, that it would be easy to change his stripes so to speak. Also just saying I can't stand Ollie. No character growth whatsoever and he doesn't have any consequences for his actions. It's super frustrating because before this there at least were some consequences, or at least a moment where the person realized "oh I f'ed up". I just wish Ollie could have enough growth to not be annoying. There's a way to write a character like his, driven, smart, without having them be a characature.

@triforian king oh i do like episode 5 is terrible i like izzy and Amelia can be annoying at times but this season needs to stop being compared to other seasons as judgement of quality since just because something else better doesn't mean the 1st thing is bad. There's is a difference between the words better/worst to good/bad.
As if Dino thunder is better then Ninja Storm doesn't make Ninja storm bad when best or worst are used for ranking seasons and good or bad if you would watch it again for fun. Also i don't see any positives you are giving the season either sir.

this is a good omen if they did this on purpose, it will allow for a writer's board that seems to be run by fans to go hog wild on the seires full potential, if the rangers are to draw in new fans they can't go for just kids anymore, to go for all audiences it must go sentai, and for that Netflix is to power rangers as adult swim was for samurai jack
as for the ptsd of red vs gold, he did lie about the dreams, but maybe in an episode where we see the world thru his eyes, perhaps his ptsd manifests as hallucinations that he has learned to ignore... its a netflix show now meaning all contracts need reviewed again, nothing is stopping them from having a gritty episode now, or a local cop pulling an actual gun on a sporix to protect some kids, maybe this will be green and blacks fathers redemption arch, and when he runs out of ammo the kids haft to ranger up to protect him and the kids he was protecting causing him to have an epiphany that he was a bad parent but his kids turned out ok anyway, or as a near death event he sees his life pass before his eyes, allowing for a justification of his Callus nature before he hears his kids ranger up. maybe the black knight so to speak is not the enemy, just desperate, and maybe the love of his life is not worth saving and the reason the sporix are as they are.
maybe even the lover is the woman in the flashback and she teamed up with lord zed before he was corrupted again, to make the sporix.... and it is his doing that made them, and he views them as a failure, and she does too.
