    Unbelievable tank bro 👏🏽 before you put your parameters up I knew you would have very low nitrate due to the pastel pale looking acros. Keep it going man, definitely a subscribe

    Beautiful sticks. Do you sell sps or coral. Yellow tangs can be a hit or miss together. Either in time they get along or will fight. Adding another tang might work but where can you get one at a fair price. Maybe add a purple tang. I decided never to add two of same spices. Good luck. Enjoy your videos.

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  3 роки тому

      Yes, I sell frags locally. I think every reefer should be doing so if they can, helps to subsidize some of the cost of our expensive hobby. 🤑
      I originally had the 2 yellow tangs in 2 separate tanks, but they all ended up together in the same tank after I got this tank. 😔
      I've always wanted a purple, maybe sometime soon. 🤞

    very nice update you should try dose some iron (iron gluconate, not chelate or other forms - Aquavitro propel) to beef up your macro and boost colour to assist your nitrate dosing. By the looks of it your greens are a little washed too. You will notice all corals including lps respond to this very quickly. Dose 1/4 of the recommended dose first, then bump it up to half.

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  3 роки тому

      I'll look into iron. Makes sense to dose it considering its coming in as n.n on the fauna marin icp tests. Thanks Mikey. 😀

    You need a lot more nutrien to get some bether collors.
    It looks great but a lot of them are so pale.
    You can Just dose po4 and no3 + or more fish.

    Same thing happened to me but in reverse, first time I pulled Chaeto, second time I didn't; I had to get all new macro algae after that which ended up having aiptasia (but not the first time it was introduced).

    Very curious what your water parameters are at? I just started watching the video so I'm not sure if you said but also your lighting schedule and why do you think your corals are so brown and pale?

    • @bobgutsch3134
      @bobgutsch3134 3 роки тому +1

      Never mind I just saw you posted your water parameters. My nitrates were near zero and a lot of my coral had pailed out and didn't look that great, over the last two weeks I've boosted my nitrates to about 10 parts per million and noticed results in my LPS instantly and I'm starting to notice awesome results in my SPS now as well

    • @bobgutsch3134
      @bobgutsch3134 3 роки тому +1

      Haha all right I watched the rest of the video now, keep dosing those nitrates :-) also have you been dosing anything like vibrant? The reason I ask is because vibrant and other products similar to it really deplete nutrients in your system. Looking forward to your next update

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  3 роки тому

      @@bobgutsch3134 I appreciate you checking out the video Bob! 🙏 Funny reading this comment chain. 🤣
      Not using vibrant. Nitrates just seem to get used up quick in the tank. Yes I will maintain the nitrate dosing moving forward. If it continues to be used up at this rate I will probably hook it up to the doser. Thanks again! 👍

    Drain the tank. The corals will be fine. Kinda like low tide. When the water is low enough where they can only swim on their side, grab a net and scoop them up.

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  3 роки тому

      You called it 420. 😔 I thought with 3 zebrasomas it would have been fine, but I guess its supposed to be 3 different varieties of zebrasoma. The situation seems to be calmer now so maybe they have reached an understanding. 🤞

    How to catch the HYT?
    Step 1. Take note of where he goes to sleep during the night.
    Step 2. Wait 2 hours after when its completely dark.
    Step 3. Turn lights on. And I mean bright lights.
    Step 4. Pluck him out. You can do this with your bare hand :)

    I’m curious about your Mg level. Is that the level from your salt or do you dose it to 1470?

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  2 роки тому

      Sorry for the late response Shawn. I don’t normally test my mg in the reef crystals salt, but a batch I tested 3 years ago was giving me readings in the low 1300’s based on the salifert mg test kit.
      I understand that esv bionic 2 part contains mg in the calcium component, and my calcium tests pretty high as well. That is probably where the mg has built up. Plus I was dosing mg for awhile 1+ years ago cause I was really concerned with mg being too low.
      Thank you for checking out the video and your question. 🙏🏼
