Welcome to My World! My pronouns are she/her and I am a 53 year old mom who believes no matter how old we get, we never need to grow up! I rule here and it's all about dolls, speaking from the heart about real life and trying to shine some light into the world. I make really long videos becasue I feel like I am hanging out with my friends. So get some snacks and enjoy!
I collect Barbie, Monster High, Ever After High, Rainbow High, LOL OMG, Na Na Na Surprise, Disney Princess Dolls and so many more! I love fashion dolls and I believe that dolls are the best toys for people to improve empathy and to explore their creativity!
This definitely made me smile! I appreciate you being so open and honest about how you were conditioned to think from a young age and how you can evolve and grow. No matter what age you are, it's never too late to become open minded and see things from a different perspective. As a fan of Bratz and someone that has designed for the brand (you reviewed my dolls) myself, and i'm sure many other fans of Bratz appreciate your growth and newfound appreciation for these dolls. Much love
Thank you so much!!! One great thing about getting older, for me al least, is not being afraid to say what you think. And being open to changing what you think. I wish it hadn’t taken half a century to understand it, but I’m glad that I do!
Love your work so much thank u for the iconic designs it means more than you think entirely !!!!
I just want to say as a tween in the early 2000s I was the exact demographic MGA was trying to target. I was 10 in 2001 when Bratz came out. When I tell y'all my small mind lost it when Bratz came out. They weren't just fashion dolls. They literally did what Mattel couldn't do. Give us diversity with an actual personality. The fact that each doll had a different outfit was so ahead of it's time. I was shook
Don’t say there are better reviewers! While the set up for Clawdeena and Froggy’s videos are amazing, and there are so many entertaining doll unboxers, you remain one of my absolute favourites cause you keep it real! I love that you add personal stories to your videos and your channel is incredible! You have such a different style of video to people like Clawdeena that it’s really hard to compare the two, and while Clawdeena is incredible at giving the news and facts about each release, you don’t do that sort of video. I mean heck just bringing in Iconic characters like Iris and Princess Pombles adds to the story of your videos, and your channel is (along with Clawdeena, Elvira and Froggy) one of my absolute favourites! Dangit this is your world! You get to choose how to run it!
yesss i love how earnest and wholesome these videos are.. definitely my fav doll channel 🥰🥰🥰
She’s my favorite I watch her videos because everything you just stated bravo!🦄💖🌈
Agreed! Her videos give me a sense of warmth and kindness every time I watch one, which keeps me coming back.
So true!
@@ThinkPinkDaze yes same! I would honestly say as much as I love the rest Melissa’s channel is my favourite of the four I stated and it’s cause she’s just so freaking entertaining and sweet!!
I'm 54 and I never had a problem with the fashion choices of the Bratz dolls. I spoiled my daughter and I bought her all the Bratz dolls and playsets. I'm now an adult doll collector and will be buying these for myself now. Also I was sent home from high school with some of my past fashion choices from the 80's. Lol! My mom did not even get mad she was the one that bought them for me . lol!!!!
You must have a carefree mom ha, ha!! Compliment, by the way.
Is it true in the 80's flashy clothing was all the rage?
She was probably mad at herself. Nobody wants their kid sent home from school
Whenever you talk about your son I always get this weird happy feeling in my chest. I'm 22 this year and I've been watching this channel since I was like 13 (?), at the time I identified as a girl but over the passed year I've realised my gender is a lot more...complicated than that. This has always been such a safe space and seeing the growth is truly heart warming ❤
We stan self development! The world keeps changing, and we need to keep changing as well
I always love the story of a conservative having an LGBT+ kid and turning around their lifestyle for them, especially when they're as great as you! Some people think people your age can't change their views, but you're living proof that you can and it's not that hard! It may of taken you up until 2015 and beyond, but it's still inspiring! And I do love Roxxi and Nevra, I just wish Bratz would do more with them outside of pride month!
Roxxi and Nevra are actually dating in recent Bratz canon so we at least have a gay couple, they post them throughout pride month 🥰
Also Sasha's skirt is a two piece, her lower half of the skirt can be removed to make a miniskirt.
No stop this not canon-
@@iconiccece7825 it wasnt said in a show, movie, or doll set, but on the official bratz Instagram it was blatantly said they were dating. Its canon!
@@albertodiaz8642 the bratz page is ran by someone who does even get paid at mga which means it’s not! Mga and that acc is gonna do anything for attention and it was pride month so they felt the need too do that and it isn’t 🤍🤍
@@iconiccece7825 theres nothing I can say to make you agree if you dont want to agree, but the bratz Instagram page is verified, has links to their official websites and sponsorships, and isnt fan made or fan-run. Bratz has always pushed diversity, and they would never use it as a publicity stunt.
I come here for the stories you share. Dont ever apologize for that or send us away! haha
I watch other reviewers but you are the one i come back to and watch over and over. You make me feel seen and validated as a adult collector who is also a man.
I loved that you kept saying "Girl" i could tell how iffed you were with the wording. Because yes Boys can and DO play with dolls too.
I love your channel so much!
I really hope that Roxxi and Nevra have a pride release, because they're the first queer couple in the history of fashion dolls.
Omg I didnt know this!! This makes me so happy as Roxxi and especially Nevra were my fav Bratz dolls growing up!
You mean lesbian
@@ryanjasche7088 What's wrong with queer? It's just an umbrella word for lgbtqia+
@@ryanjasche7088 unless they said specifically they were lesbian, other identies involving wlw exist. Since we don’t know, using queer as an umbrella term is better. If they have said lesbian specifically, I haven’t heard about it. But even if they did, people can still use an umbrella term if they want 😁
No they aren’t. Cabot Clark and Milo Montez from Integrity Toys came before
I remember when I was young and played with dolls that I really wasn’t into bratz because I was already into Barbie and American girl, and my mom thought they looked a bit inappropriate for me to play with and she hated the name. My sister got a bratz doll from a friend for her birthday and she wasn’t really a doll person so I got it and I really didn’t care for the doll either, partially because I think their feet and shoes creeped me out. Looking at the dolls now, I can definitely see the appeal of bratz because it tried to do something different and more realistic for girls.
I love how in this video you are wearing a Bratz shirt from Hot Topic because I am also wearing a Bratz shirt from Hot Topic.
I can’t wait to get a Yasmin doll of my own once they release them again in July :)
Girl same
my mom didn’t let me play with bratz only because they were called bratz & she thought they would teach us to be bratz lol
As the saying goes: "Don't judge a book by its cover."
@@Alanna_H. yep! definitely
My kids only wanted GI Joes and Star wars dolls, but I would have bought Bratz for them just because of Yasmin. Representation Matters and she originally was Iranian.
I thought she was Hispanic not middle eastern, interesting. Though that does make more sense once I think about it.
@@hanadunn7297 I saw it on a Wiki. I think that a lot of dolls are who we need them to be.
@@tiredoftrolls2629 Which I am happy about because white and blonde hair dolls are bland to me and the diversity is good. Thanks for correcting me on Yasmin’s ethnicity.
@@hanadunn7297 you are welcome, but I am not correcting you. She started out Persian as Isaac Larian, the owner MGA is Iranian-American and named Yasmin after his daughter Jasmin, but the character became Hispanic in the shows. The diversity in how dolls look allow them to become what the children (and adults) need. The real stories come from the children that play with them. As much as I love the storylines that the companies create, it can stifle what the child needs.
So my guess is right if I am going by show cannon and it’s sweet that the designer thought of his daughter when he made Yasmin. Thanks again for more information!
Thank you for being you! It takes a lot to stand against an old version of yourself and being able to change and accept change! I'm a 20 year old Hispanic girl and I didn't really have any exposure with Bratz but I had one because she looked like me! I remembered the commercials and always wanted more but we were on the poorer side of things. I loved the diversity of these dolls and it helped me express who I am! Can't wait to get all four! p.s my poor wallet!
The scissors going through Sasha's bag 😱
unboxing queen♥
I remember asking my mom about the whole Bratz controversy. And she said, when I was around five years old she gave me a few Bratz dolls and the parents demonized her for it. My mom was pretty carefree at the time and stated, they were fashionable and if I wanted to dress that way in the future. She would allow it. I think what helped her see it positively was the fact she worked as a nurse. So she got to see all types of people during those years. My dad was just fine with whatever I did, as long as it wasn't drugs, drinking or going to raves.
I was so worried about taking out those plastic things sewn in their hair!! Thank you for showing that because I thought it would be really hard to get off like other dolls, and nobody shows that part of unboxing.
Dolls have been the one constant in my life and I think I might start a UA-cam channel for my collection because you, clawdeena, Elvira and many others have inspired me so much (btw I grew up with you and Caden)
I really enjoyed playing with Bratz as a child/tween. There was something so exciting to me about having all the dolls look different and seem to have different styles. I didn’t understand then what representation was I just knew I liked Sasha and she looked like me. Plus I was always kinda an over the top dresser as a child and the Bratz really encapsulated the look I imagined I had lol! It’s wild to think people saw these toys and thought they were “bad” for their children. It’s also weird seeing now how tame these originals look lol. Also, I feel like I have memories of Sasha’s skirt being able to detach?
I love it when you sit down and ramble. Hearing you talk about your realization about women’s bodies was really nice to hear.
Mommy I really appreciate you talking about your past comments on Bratz and explaining how you’ve changed. I remember seeing that video and being so hurt and confused, but I’m really happy that you now appreciate the dolls and see that people, dolls and whatever that can be dressed should dress however they want without being judged or opressed by society standards and old-fashioned mentality. So really, thank you for talking about it!! 😊
Love that shirt! I’ve had to “check” my opinion on certain things as well. I’m glad the world is getting better in that way.
As a boy who played with “girls” dolls, it’s nice to see an honest review about your own experience and beliefs. My mom usually let me play with what I wanted; although, Bratz seemed to be an issue for her lol. I used to play with my cousin’s Bratz collection-even convincing her she wanted new Bratz dolls when we went to Walmart. I always admired the fashion in Bratz. I feel like boys are programmed to think fashion is exclusive to femininity when it’s not. Bratz was an outlet for me to express the fashion experiments I couldn’t do. Thank you for awesome review and anecdotal commentary!
i’m really grateful for my mom. she’s a huge feminist and always has been. i grew up with bratz, i developed a great “passion for fashion”, learned to embrace my femininity. these dolls hold such a special place in my heart. can’t wait for them to come to europe❤️
My mom wore hijab (I wear it now too) and I went to Islamic school as a kid, but I was still allowed to get Bratz dolls or any other doll I wanted. I think people overestimated the impact dolls clothing and makeup has on girls, when there are other things and people which influences young girls much more.
I don’t even enjoy dolls, it’s my mum watching this video, but I just wanted to comment and say your willingness to hold yourself accountable over past biases and changing into the great person you are now is really inspiring! Subscribed!
When I was looking up painting doll faces, I came across a video of a conservative mom who didn’t even want to give a Bratz doll their child had received to a thrift store because they thought it was a dangerous thing. She rubbed all the makeup off with acetone, repainted and reclothed it, and turned it into something that was acceptable to her. I have mixed feelings about Bratz dolls (or other dolls that represent teenagers dressing in a risqué manner), but it struck me like she was trying to rub out the existence of girls who dress like this, and that is wrong. She exuded an arrogant attitude that was far more offensive and dangerous than the doll.
I am one of those older people, in my upper 50's and I definitely know what you are talking about. There were SO many sins and no one could ever measure up! And yes...anything a male did or said was your fault because you provoked them!
That's just the tip of the iceberg but you can probably see that I truly identify and understand!
I also wouldn't let my girls have Bratz to start with and then later loosened up. Now I have a collection of my own!
I am with you in all these thoughts and feelings, sister, thank God the world is gaining some sense and respect!
I never really got into bratz but I do have some second hand ones I fixed recently.
Buuuut I kinda changed my mind recently so I will get them for sure.
Jade and Yasmin are my faves
It's so strange to me, to see home movies from X number of years ago, because I'm saying things in them that I'm now ashamed of. I thought nothing of it at the time, in my blazing ignorance.
I remember I thought their faces and make-up were really over the top. I didn't mind how they were dresses, though. We are the same age, but my parents never made a big deal of showing some skin.
When the first Bratz came out I was 7 years old and i remember always wanted one for me, but my dad never allowed it. 20 years later im here sitting on my couch ordering the four of them so I can finally say that I own a doll.
I love listening to you talk and all rambles and the dolls are a huge cherry on top! I love the way you run your channel and it feels like such a motherly comfy place to come 💕
I LOVE how open minded, accepting, and not resistant to change you are. Your stories are so entertaining, keep it up we love it❤️
Yeah, I totally get everything you are saying. Bratz came out when I was older but I do remember their release because of my younger cousins. My parents were what I call "chilled out conservative." They were religious but didn't mind my LGBT+ friends. They didn't turn me away from my gothic spooky taste either but just ask that I been respectful toward them while I lived in their household and they supported my finances. (They allowed some things and not others.) It definately influenced me as an adult. Don't be to hard on yourself or this channel, I think we spend our whole lives learning and then redefining ourselves. This channel is special because its your own point of view.
And that's what we call 👏 character 👏 development. Nice💖
im so glad my mom bought me bratz dolls and loved them just as much as i did ! so excited for this re release, missed these girls so much
im glad that you're realizing all this
I remember when I was like 5 and my cousin was 13-14 (targeted age for bratz) I wasn't allowed to play with them but I used to sneak with her to play with them it brings me a lot of memories
It’s cool that your able to correct yourself and say when your wrong. Respect ✨
I remember Loving the diverse characters, especially Jade because she looked more like me. I hated not having black Barbies. I couldn't find any.
You're my favorite doll reviewer/collector/person. Idk something about your eloquence, maturity, thoughtfulness, and sense of humor is just the right match for me as a non-"doll collector person."
Bratz is really exciting to me in 2021, I even started following their Instagram when I heard about the re-release. I'm very into the 2000s trends seeping back into our culture, and I think re-releasing Bratz was a PERFECTLY timed idea to capitalize on it. I think they could even put out new/reimagined Bratz that have our modern perspective on noughties fashion. I could also see MGA using a new Bratz line to due more "risque" representation for their tween and older audience like boy dolls with makeup (like so many makeup youtubers) and openly LGBT+ characters. The Bratz Instagram is already very much embracing the more adult/nostalgic fanbase.
I was VERY close to getting the collector Cameron doll, but the fashion was a little boring (although a huge positive step for fashionable male dolls), the hair was a little weird (maybe if I gelled it like the artwork I'd like it), but most of all I think they weren't articulated and I kind of expect that for that money.
i used to watch you and Kaydens( sorry if I spelt wrong ) channel back in 2013/14 when i was around 9-10 years old and coming back makes me feel so so safe and warm inside and like a child again as sometimes I feel like I’m being rushed into adulthood :( I just bought Yasmin from the collection and I am truly obsessed and my inner child is feeling happy and healed. Sending you so much love and happiness and thank you for providing me with a safe space since a child
I love bratz, it was very comforting to see a doll that wasn't blonde blue eyed, more younger, and out there.
I wasn't around when Bratz first came out, but I had also been raised in a fairly conservative household and I didn't like Bratz years ago because "They were inappropriate" "They look like hookers" etc. But as I have grown I have changed and learned a lot about myself and other things (my own sexuality, fashion sense, identity, etc.) and I LOVE Bratz now, I even ordered the 20th Anniversary Cloe from Hot Topic a few days ago. I have definitely learned and changed as I have grown up
I just have to say that I loved your video! Not just the unboxing but I loved your rambling as well! You should definitely do more story-time unboxing videos like this, very entertaining! 😁
When Bratz came out, I didn't have any kids in my family. They were all in their late teens. But since I always loved kids, I started babysitting for friends' kids. They had Bratz dolls and I was okay playing with them (and I did play along). I found that it is a lot easier to be non-judgmental when they aren't your kids and you respect their parents' choices. With other peoples' kids, you can enjoy them and turn them back over to the ones who are responsible for actually raising them. It was great practice for grandparenting. So I played with Bratz and I have to say that I loved the big shoes that were harder to lose than Barbie shoes. And I loved the variety of boys to choose from. And I find your unboxing and review videos have a unique perspective that makes me really think about things. I am so glad that you do you!
Melissa, Elvira, Clawdeena
The Holy Dolly Trinity 🤩🙌🏻🤩
I love your perspectives on different doll lines and ideas, I think that you and the other doll reviewers each have different things that you always notice and think about.
i have a vivid memory from when i was 5ish. my mom had someone over from our old church (we left that particular one) i was minding my business playing with my bratz dolls and i heard said lady say to my mom "you need to be careful with those bratz dolls, theyre super innapropriate" i remember being so confused. my mom handled it well and said she knew how to raise me. very thankful to have parents that were pretty progressive for the time.
i remember as a kid i was allowed barbies - in fact encouraged in my interest for “girl” things. but my mum didnt let me have bratz bc she thought they were too provocative. interestingly sister had bratz tho. however now 20 ish years on my mum has completely shifted her view on bratz and has realised theyre pretty cool. shes super encouraging of my new found bratz collecting hobby!!
Well first, thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing not just your past but your evolution in mindset with us.
For me, growing up my mother wasn't about to let her black *slightly feminine and still closeted) son have ANYTHING feminine because she feared it - I'm talking no pink power ranger and even we got in a fight once because a book I was taking to school had a pink slip cover - so when it came to my doll interest it was yet another closet I had to be in at the time. When starting out I also eschewed Bratz for Barbie due to similar 'purity' mindset and the feeling that barbie was 'good' while they were bad and the guilt of 'already doing one bad thing that I liked so let me not be TOO bad'.
The bratz kidz won me over and with time I also had that 'clothing does not mean behavior' revelation and now own literally SO many bratz lol. As far as my mother goes it took lots of time and therapy and hard work but I think our relationship is stronger with time and she's gone from literally threatening me about throwing what limited dolls I had away to asking me about them with genuine interest. It doesn't always work that way but I'm glad it did for me and I'm also happy that boy collectors in the generations after me seem to have a much easier time getting these dolls they wanted than I did when I started.
Awhh I’m so happy your story ends happy
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I think it’s one that’s really important for people to hear. And I’m so glad that you and your mom are in a better place. Hugs to both of you❤️❤️❤️❤️
I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! For your self analysis, deconstruction and growth. It's never too late and it' just human to update our beliefs on things. I am your biggest fan Melissa, sending you lots and lots of loveee
It's kind of funny because growing up (and even now), my mom has always been super conservative and religious. I've very much grown up in the same kind of household as you mentioned, Melissa. But my mom actually let me get Bratz as a kid and while she wasn't ever really thrilled with how they were dressed, but she still let me get them and I'll always be grateful. I'm so happy to see them coming back and I'm really hoping we get a permanent new line of them coming out alongside LOL OMG and Rainbow High.
This is why I hate how crowds come for people and tear them apart for things that happened years ago. People can change and be better, and if we still denounce and crucify people who have evidently changed for the better, why would they continue the progress? Why change and be better if you're still gonna be judged and hated for past mistakes? Change is good and should always, ALWAYS be encouraged.
That’s why I loved monster high and brats because I was never really into Barbie and when I was younger are used to play with Bratz dolls and I started collecting monster high when I was around like 14 and I kept collecting up until I was like 18 because they seemed more like collectables with their cool clothes and poseable bodies So even though in the beginning I would play with them eventually I started just dressing them every now and then and displaying them!
Also I cannot wait until they come out again next year!
@@AshleysAdvice bratz might have made them push it because they want to out sell bratz!
God, they really timed this right;-; every fashion doll should come back 20 years after✨
Melissa, you are one of my comfort UA-camrs. I first started watching you back in 2014 when I was really into Monster High. And you continue to be because you change and grow and learn. You make me feel safe in a way that my own parents never have. They never want to admit when they are wrong. They never want to change their minds. But you DO! And that’s why I still watch you, even though I don’t collect dolls anymore 🥰
I love your rambling vids Melissa
Thanks!! I had a ton to say on the subject of Bratz. It's amazing how much dolls reflect our changing perspectives as a society!
@@MyWorldMelissa OMG my name is Keely I am 12 years old and I love dolls so much but being a kid in middle school who likes dolls i get a lot of hate but after I get home i turn on my computer and I watch you. you have inspired me to be myself. thank you for all you have shown me in the time i have watched you
Every video I watch of yours makes me love this channel more. I have never felt so much unconditional love from one person than I have from you!! 😭💗
It’s very refreshing how we can change. My mother still thinks like this unfortunately. It’s dangerous to think like this about women’s bodies and dress and to not hold others accountable for their actions. I never had a problem with the way these dolls dress. I was wigged out about their noses and exaggerated faces. Now I love them and bought my first Bratz with this release. Love your reviews.

i'm so sorry you had to go through that experience then again im so grateful of how understanding you are considering you went through a lot when you were younger...you're very comprehensive of everything this generation has to speak and i appreciate that so much and i wish i could say the same about individuals on my family...we need more adults like you, and please don't compare yourself to other reviewers, your content it's very unique, genuine and awesome, and so it's theirs! that's what makes each one of you the best 🤍
Oh man, these are really taking me back
U LOOK SO COOL WITH THAT MAKR UP GIRLL LOVE ITT 💖💖💕💕💕
My mom was never one of those parents who restricted the type of dolls I could play with. She actually wanted me to get bratz but I was a Barbie kid for most of my childhood (main reasons because I didn’t know what bratz were)
I was in college when Bratz came out and had decided I was too old for dolls at the time, so I never had any. I remember people at the time making a huge stink about Bratz being "too sexy." It's funny to think about that now. Now that I'm officially "too old" for dolls, I think I'll buy these. LOL.
I am very thankful for having open-minded mom. She is always there, she supports me, and so much more. Oh and she loves MH dolls, so that's also great. lol And... she is a fan of my fashion choices. My mom never discriminates me from wearing anything basically. Very happy that you are talking about this.
Does Anyone know if the dolls are coming out internationaly ?
DO NOT SAY THAT YOU ARE AMAZING AS WELL!!!!!!!! I legit came to you first before everyone else because I love your reviews
The pride nails are the bomb omg
growing up i was never allowed to have bratz dolls. i’m 19 now and am really into doll collecting, and i definitely think i’ll have to add these bratz to my collection
I've moved onto Monster High, and Ever After High as an adult, but as a child I was CRAZY about Bratz! I'll never forget when they first came out back in kindergarden. You'd think they were the latest iPhone with how popular they were. I wanted so badly to be them with how awesome there hair and outfits were. Their pop-off feet used to bug me though cause of how easy they were to lose.I really appreciate the stories you tell in your unboxing videos too.
I was only tangentially interested in dolls when the Bratz came out. The first wave kind of left me unimpressed. There is a Bratz doll I really liked, but I never got her because she was part of a twin pack, and I didn't care for the twin. So, I could never really justify buying her.
Way back when, when I was a girl (enbie now), there was a lot of pressure to be modest without being masculine. I got intentionally misgendered as male, called many homophobic slurs, and had people throw gum in my hair or rip my clothes. People were awful to me and judged me on the perception that I was gay. I never judged other girls, though I had hang ups about how difficult it was to find clothes I felt comfortable in, since I didn't like showing skin beyond a V neck (and fashioned my own binders).
Now, I have hang ups with overly strict dress codes at schools. A lot of them are harsh on girls/femme students, and don't take body variances into account. Busty students are scrutinized for their bodies. Leggy girls, like my niece are unreasonably flagged for "too short of skirts/shorts," when finding anything that fits is a nightmare as it is!
Sorry for the novel, but it feels like in 20 years we haven't made much progress in not being overly judgmental towards girls and their interests and fashions.
your shirt is iconic!!!!
Its so nice to see an adult that doesnt think girls shouldnt wear whatever they feel most comfortable in. Im a 16 year old girl and my grandma really tries to control how i look. I prefer to look more on the gothic side and i always have. I was born with blue eyes and blonde hair and since im also the first born of her grandkids. Im the only grandchild who isnt full puerto rican. So, its very important to her how i look. She pretty much says "youre such a pretty girl you shouldnt dress like that" and "i wish you never dyed your hair you were prettier blonde". Every time i make a change to my appearance that i feel good about she always has something to say about it. It makes me feel really bad about myself. Theres so many teens that feel the same way i do. Im glad theres adults like you out there that are so kind and accepting of everyone.
I remember my first Bratz doll was a Midnight Dance Fianna. I found her at BigLots in 2008(?) and I think I was in my early twenties? I didn't end up collecting a lot of Bratz dolls after that, but I do miss them. I had to sell them before I moved away.
Bratz was the one doll line i could take to school in high school and not get made fun of . both kids in special ed and regular classes liked the bratz dolls 2 of my favorite memories was my math teacher playing dolls with me and 2 of my friends . my second favorite school memory was when some really popular cheer leaders asked to play with me and my 2 friends and one of my friends was a boy. I remember yelling mom mom look look at those on the tv and my mom asking Wich one i wanted and i ran to the tv yelling that one as i pointed to jade who i still have to this day i have my first edition jade and all her stuff
This is an interesting story you've shared.

Growing up in a very conservative household my mom had a lot of the same ideals... very modest dressing (especially as I got older) did NOT like the bratz dolls due to the name, face, and fashion. Since My mom has passed I have explored different fashion looks, there are certain things I will never be comfortable wearing but I am learning what I like and what looks good based on my taste and how it fits my body.
The Bratz have heavily inspired my fashion

I need these dolls
I love your rambles!!! Yassss
I played with Barbies well into my late teens. I also played with doll like toys like Ello. I didn't put away my Barbie house (I was lucky enough to have a playroom and used shelves and a changing table to add on to my official Barbie houses) until we moved to a new house and I was around 16. I had my scene dolls because I was fiercely loyal to Mattel.
I know this was posted ages ago but I kinda relate to the story as I have really strict Christian parents and I love how you shared that

She just swinging those scissors without looking at the box omg xD gave me anxiety
as a trans woman who was openly flamboyant and gay as a kid, looking back i'm so thankful my mom wasn't one of those anti-bratz moms and she happily bought me bratz dolls, dvds, kid accessories, etc. even tho i was a "boy". she was super accepting from day one and a very open minded person, open to new things and to learn more ❤
OMG IVE BEEN WAITING FOR U TO REVIEW IT AAAAH 💛💛💛
I'm loving your nails 🌈
And I just enjoy all your videos & how you keep it real!
Love the makeup, so pretty!
I relate so so much to everything you are saying here. I grew up where even Barbie was considered to much simply because she had an adult, developed body. Not to mention that her clothes were supposed to be modern fashions, which was also seen as inherently sexual and bad. My dad regularly called Barbie “the modern Ashtoreth” referencing a goddess framed in the Old Testament as having been a pagan, evil temptation that drew worshipers away from God in ancient Israel. Crazy, I know, but with that sort of environment, you can only imagine how I viewed the Bratz dolls when I saw them hit the shelves in stores at that point in my life. I love getting and dressing fashion dolls now for its own sake, but there is also a part of it that plays into deprogramming myself from the shame based attitudes towards woman’s bodies and clothing I grew up with and that much of my family still holds.
Sasha is such a gorgeous doll - thanks for sharing your awesome story.
My older sister was the target audience for bratz when I was the target audience for Barbie, so we had a good mix of both
I CANT WAIT FOR THE RELISE
