I haven't had to swap between one type of motor to another. I find relays confusing but you cleared that up. I feel confident that I could make a swap if needed now. I am getting better at reading wiring diagrams. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us potato techs. You are helping us all grow out of the dirt and be better, safer and fix a problem now rather than making a customer wait
You are a wiring genius. I have been watching you for so long now that I actually understood everything you did. Could I do it? Absolutely, but I have always been pretty good with electronics. I would not be as fast, and I would have more trouble with the mounting. Long story short, It would take me all day to do what you do in an hour or two. Like someone else said, I have always put back what was there. If I were to convert one, it would be to get rid of an x-13. I'm glad I have your channel to refer to. Thanks for all you do, if I were younger, I would have changed careers, even though I feel I did well with what I did.
well poverty gets hot too... Also when I started we worked a lot of realty companies and they did not give a shit what they sent you to . And wanted a cheap fix . Then holding your pay 60 days.
This was a great vid Curtis! Thank you so much for the time you put into your vids and giving back to this trade. I have learned so much from your training vids.
Well done Curtis, thorough way of showing how to do both. Only one issue with a lot of your videos, why is it always dark in the hallways? Do they not have lights there?
Good job Curtis, You should rebuild some of your old air handlers from new installs instead of scrapping them and use them for under privilege individuals that can't afford new systems.
Kind of hard to justify the $400 price difference in a PSC vs Evergreen. The only benefits gained would be the variable speeds and less noise but surely no gains in saving on power for the life of them.
For the one that you wired the psc motor to that relay does that mean there won’t be a delay when blower is in the off cycle? So the blower is going to stop immediately when the condenser stop?

Thanks for sharing! Just knowing that makes it all worth it.
This is the comment 🤴

That smoke alarm chirping during the last call had me checking my smoke alarms.
he hears these almost every call!
@@tedperry2441 He does seem to work in a mostly black area.

I often wonder if some people simply don’t hear the chirp? I’ve had neighbors who have a smoke detector chirping and never do anything about it.
😅

Great to hear!
Great work on both 👍
Well done Curtis , 2 good repairs. You could also ask if the customer if they would like there smoke alarm batter replaced whils't there 😉 Au
Great video like always 🙏🏻
Nice jobs Curtis.
i love the rainy days
Great video
Thanks!
The old bag-o-wires! 👍👍
It’s a must have

The "under privileged" should go get a job and stop living off of my tax dollars.
Okay, you got it, your right.
He seems to be working in really dingy looking places alot. I think he's doing his part to help the needy already
True, just an opinion to keep steady work going.
Good move by putting that one back to as close OE as you could and given it was originally ecm equipped it wasn’t that bad to convert
Question - if the motor is fine but has a slight unbalance, can you talk about how to smooth things out?
Kind of hard to justify the $400 price difference in a PSC vs Evergreen. The only benefits gained would be the variable speeds and less noise but surely no gains in saving on power for the life of them.
That cop is literally a "Pig". Lol
The 6 amp rating maybe for 120 volt operation, since it's about double the current draw at 240 volts.
It was suggested to me that the rating was so high because it had originally been a variable speed motor
I've seen guys try to plug and play those with carrier and not see there's a wire swap. Frys all the low voltage. Only with the evergreen universal.
Sounds like either the motor is improperly sized or the static pressure is absolutely terrible
You da man!
It rains every day in Wales 😕
No way I could live in a place like that.

Yes, unless a time delay is programmed into thermostat.
@@HVACGUY o gotcha thanks. Would that cause issues long term because the evap coil would still be cold?
i did an Everygreen motor with all the wires. about drove me up a wall
Are the rescue motors any better an or cheaper
Same thing as oem motor pretty much and alot cheaper.
I would have gotten up and ripped that smoke detector off the wall and thrown it outside.
Please change the transformer
Why would you swap a ecm for psc, Or viceversa ?
Cost and dependability
😊😊👍👍
That's odd you chose to do high speed for cooling and medium for heat on that evergreen. Should be the other way around.
I guess that’s the end of that
Careful with the Music Curtis.
One of these times You are gonna get flagged...
Thanks..
Only thing bad about the green speed motors is that if two speeds are energized at the same time the motor will reverse direction
You sure work in some nasty spaces
HVAC has as Many Acronyms as many Other Industries. We Love our Acronyms. 🤔😬👎
Why would you replace a psc with an x13? I'd rather have a psc any day.
Amp rating
@HVACGUY is true, but the cost of the x13 negates the savings.
