I use the Groove belt ever day, both at work as an industrial maintenance mechanic/electrician and I also use it as my carry belt with my Tenicor Velo4 appendix holster. It works great for me and it’s way better than the overly stiff “gun belts”!
Thanks for that context Scott! Glad to hear you're loving it and you've been able to use it as a carry belt. Helps a lot of people watching this video.
@@GearRules I am happy to throw my input and usage out there for others, a lot of people say you need an overly stiff belt to carry a pistol, but for me and how I carry this belt has been almost perfect!
I'm a carhauler so im in and out of a plethora of vehicles and long drives and i been appendix carrying my PDP every day. This belt has been a major blessing. I put it on in the morning and don't have to touch it again till im home or safe inside my hotel room. Awesome belt.
I ordered the Large belt (37-40 in waist). I have a 39 inch waist. After adjusting the belt to fit me, there is still 14 inches left over. I'm giving myself 4 inches of excess and cutting it there. The Groove Life video says to burn the end and press it against a hard surface for a clean end.
Definitely not any kind of duty belt by any means but I think it’s fine for EDC. Meaning IWB/Appendix carry. The belt is stretchy but that’s what I think is what makes it great for IWB. It’s just rigid enough to securely carry my 365 Macro W/TLR7 without any slack. The stretchiness solves the issue that I’ve had with more traditional belts of an inconsistent fit when carrying vs not carrying. Since the belt stretches you don’t need to make any adjustments when wearing your holster, just slip on and go on about your day. Still tight enough that engages the claw and pushes the grip of my weapon into my abdomen for good concealment.
I can see why that would be a benefit to carrying. I'm curious if you've carried several times with this belt, how has the material stood up? That was my main concern is that it would really wear it down. It would help the folks on this video for those details. Thanks!
@@GearRules So far so good. I use the belt for pretty much anything short of dress clothes and it’s still in top shape. I don’t see any particular wear or degradation in the 2 & 3 clock position either where I typically carry.
@@GearRulesI use mine every single day for the last 3 years and I use it with a Tenicor holster with the DCC metal clips and it’s held up great! If you know anything about these clips you know how tough and how hard it can be to use them, but even with that the belt has only shown a very minimal amount of wear right where the clips ride.
This belt goes up to 50inchs and if you look on the packet it tells you how to take the excess off you cut all but 6in after you fit it then you burn the end of it and you're done I just purchased the black one I like it alot
Great supporting information there DAWGFAN! I haven't done this yet, but I definitely will. Definitely seems to be a one size fits all belt for anyone concerned!
Very nice belts I have grey and black they are very thin and stretch a lot so you can use them as a tie down strap and they will fray along the edge over time. hard to adjust to make sure you do it right the first time
I have a groove life belt. And I keep having to ajust it,I like my belt to stay snog around my waist .I hate when my pants feel like there going to fall down.
Great belts! I've got three of the original size (Black, OD Green and Brown) and just took advantage of their Feb 29th Leap Year promo (29% discount) and ordered a fourth to try the new slimmer belt in all black for my dressier pants with the smaller belt loops.
How do you like the slimmer version vs the original? I have a Nexbelt EDC now and trying to decide which Groove belt to get. I am leaning towards the normal one for the wider belt, however the smaller buckle on the slim is a plus too.
@@Mpostor I wear jeans, cargos or casual pants 99% of the time, which is why I bought the regular size in three different colors. The slim one just arrived yesterday so I haven't used it yet but I like it. For really formal attire I'll wear one of my leather belts.
Maybe not the best carry belt if you’re carrying openly, especially full size. But for inside the waistband (especially appendix) it’s just as good as anything if not better.
I find my belt needs to tighten every few days. It comes loose. Not sure why. All the reviews I’ve watched, it was said that the belt is a one time adjustment. Stays tight. All in all….. great belt. High quality and strong as hell. Very good looking belt as well.
Loved your review of this belt. I have been using an IWB with this belt and it holds up just fine. I have not attempted an OWB, but I think it would work. It is definitely not for "duty carry." Anyway loved you review.
Will this work for guys with big tummies and small bits/hips? My hubby would like a belt that stays up and keeps his pants up. Lately, he’s had to wear suspenders that he can’t wear for a special night out or for the office. He can’t take his coat off or the suspenders will show.
Good review. Do you think that this would work with suspenders? My dad sometimes wears suspenders and has a difficult time finding a belt that would work with them. I live in the Silicon Valley and he's much further east (in Tennessee). So, I'm considering this for him...but only if suspenders can attach to them well. Otherwise, I think that it looks good as a non-utilitarian belt.
Hard to say Chris. the material itself doesn't scream super durable on forces in the direction perpendicular to your waistline, but I haven't tried that out specifically.... Wish I could be more help!
To be honest I’m no expert here, I’ve tried out a few. The one from kore essentials is really good. I also made a video on my channel you can check out. Pretty versatile and really sturdy!
Hey James, I'm not expert here on the sizing. They sent me the belt and I didn't pick the size, but mine has a TON of room to spare, so unless things have changed. I would think a large would suite you? I haven't made an update on this belt, BUT I literally wear it everyday haha. It's hands down my favorite.
I just ordered one and i had to measure my waist and from the sizes shown on their website im a large my waist was 39 and a quarter the large says it fits a 37 to a 40
just bought it it, its probably my least favorite belt of all time. impossible to tighten when its around the waist. i am a pretty large waist male and bought the xl. Now it looks nice prolly the best looking belt along with the cool magnetic grips. but again its about tightening around the hips and it does lose its all reliability trying to to tighten. the belt loop also does not work, too lose and too slippery. All in all this belt is mostly meant for looks nothing more.

I SWEAR THIS BELT IS THE BEST EVER..SOOO IMPRESSED
I couldn't agree with you more. I've used this belt everyday since this review and haven't looked back...

I know I’m a year late but trimming it also voids the resizing exchange eligibility.

Thanks for keeping it real 💯 still investing in the wallet and belt

Very good points! Mine hasn't started fraying much, but I haven't quite put it through the ringer! Thanks for the comment and use case James!
I just received my first groove belt and it's the best belt I've ever owned 👈

Hmmm, pretty sure I will never buy this belt. Really, $70+ dollars? Ridiculous 😮😢
Mine slips as well , that's the only complaint I have of it. constantly having to re adjust it.

Glad you found it helpful and thanks for the context on the IWB , definitely adds some good contexts for folks! Cheers
I love the look & operation of the belt, but I just cant justify that price.
They were on sale last week. They might be again this Black Friday. I just checked and they have the black buckle on green at %20 off if you buy two.

If you don’t recommend the Groove Life belts for carrying a holster, what belt would you recommend?

How does it handle an IWB holster?
So it's not one Size fits all? That's what I saw in advertising? I'm 250 lbs and size 40" what size do you suggest?

@Gear Rules got my belt last week..I love it...fits perfect..
I just ordered one and i had to measure my waist and from the sizes shown on their website im a large my waist was 39 and a quarter the large says it fits a 37 to a 40
Their sizing is
XS: 34 inches (fits waist size 23" - 27")
S: 39 inches (fits waist size 28" - 32")
M: 44 inches (fits waist size 33" - 36")
L: 49 inches (fits waist size 37" - 40")
XL: 56 inches (fits waist size 41" - 50")
XXL: 65 inches (fits waist size 51" - 60")
Can this belt be cut so it isn't necessary to have all that slack going around your waist?
Absolutely. I don't see any reason why you (or I) couldn't cut the slack off!
Coulda do this whole review in 90 seconds
How is it with a belt clip phone case?
Great question.... I'm not sure, but it's relatively thin and stretchy, so I personally would try a different belt.

That is a really good question, I don't typically clean my belts, but I'll give a go in the washer and see how it turns out. :)
94 yr warranty? come on who are you kidding. we aint that dumb bro
😀😀😀cool
Silicone rings? Quite the pedigree.
Truth it's expensive $$$$ and Sucks as CCW belt imo.
You can NOT wear a black belt with khakis. Get another belt in brown
haha very true. point taken! Cheers
