I ll always remember your introductory class about "mindfulness" and the purpose of art, the sens we get from it. And now I discover your style and I just LOVE IT! Long live poetic way ✨
Thank you steve. The art feels more like philosophie when you talk about the subject. Sometimes you talk so abstract, but yet it's so clear, that even a child would get a concept. Phenomenal!
Love to hear all the descriptions of thinking going on. Putting into words the ideas is difficult and the vocabulary help further development and study
Wonderfully explained thought processes. This inspires further thought about style and direction when working on pieces and sketchbooking. So many possibilities with our design choices even on a single figure. Hope you are doing well, Steve.
@ thanks, yes, I know about those. That’s actually why I mentioned it. Steve missed the last couple live streams, saying that he was traveling. I assume it was to record his lessons for the academy.
NMA, why is Steve's course all cut up? i hope the original full course for figure drawing and head drawing doesn't disappear, the new versions jump all over the place and cut content, why?
@@NewMastersAcademyorgNMA Honestly, I’m a little hesitant to mention this because I don’t want to risk causing any misunderstandings about duplication or unintentionally leading to these courses being removed. That said, I feel like I might be misunderstanding the purpose behind splitting up Steve Huston’s main courses into smaller ones, so I wanted to share my thoughts. The two main courses I’m referring to are "Constructive Figure Drawing" and "Constructive Head Drawing." For now, let’s use "Constructive Figure Drawing" as an example. This was originally a comprehensive course, consisting of 15 lessons spanning 44 hours and 18 minutes. However, it has now been split into two smaller courses: "Constructive Figure Drawing I," with 7 lessons at 15 hours and 58 minutes, and "Constructive Figure Drawing II," with 8 lessons at 12 hours and 38 minutes. Combined, these only account for 27 hours of the original content, with lessons that seem out of order and missing material compared to the original course. Having watched the original "Constructive Figure Drawing" multiple times all the way through, I can confidently say that the smaller versions feel like a step down. The originals were cohesive and delivered in Steve Huston’s signature holistic teaching style, which is a key part of what makes his instruction so effective. Breaking up and remixing his content feels counterproductive. I’m sure there’s a valid reason for this change, and it’s possible I’m misunderstanding the goal. However, as someone who deeply appreciates this content and how it was originally presented, I felt compelled to share my concerns. I just hope my comment doesn’t unintentionally lead to any further changes or the loss of the main courses, under the assumption that they’re outdated or unnecessary duplications of a so-called "newer version."
@@anothergymkid9242 we custom made it for the course using “oatmeal” toned paper because we couldn’t get the same sketchbook he used for the older one. It may not be in production any more.

All of Steve’s courses (over 150 hours) are still on the website and aren’t going anywhere. Which course are you referring to?
