Azure Policy helps to enforce organizational standards and to assess compliance at-scale. Through its compliance dashboard, it provides an aggregated view to evaluate the overall state of the environment, with the ability to drill down to the per-resource, per-policy granularity. It also helps to bring your resources to compliance through bulk remediation for existing resources and automatic remediation for new resources.
This talk will go through a quick overview of Azure Policy Definition structure, effects, and remediation. Followed by a review of how the policy engine functions to evaluate new deployments vs. existing resources. We will discuss assignments and assignment scopes. We will touch on some newly released features like Resource Selectors and Overrides along with the new denyAction effect. Finally, resting on some examples for how to develop and troubleshoot common issues when utilizing Azure Policy.
We will also have links to useful resources like the GitHub community and built-in repositories, and of course the documentation.
