I don't like these types of pencils because we already have too much plastic waste in the environment. It would be better if they were made from bamboo or a sustainable wood.
I agree, I would prefer wooden ones, too! But lately I've been seeing more and more plastic ones like these in different brands - there must be some reason for it... Although I don't know what it might be.

Well I knew UA-cam would come through once again. I threw out one just the other day because I thought it was defective. Bought a different brand and same thing was about to return it thinking it too was defective. Then a light 💡 moment, UA-cam it. THANK YOU.👏🏽👏🏽Guess it would be too easy for the manufacturers to put this on their products or better yet, put a damn sharpener with it!!!🤔
UA-cam saved me from many mistakes in life - that's true! :D I can understand not selling a sharpener with every pencil because that would cost extra, but putting a "this can be sharpened" on the label would have been a reasonable thing to do! 😄
Haha, yes, they have the same plastic material in their Loud Line lip liners as well! Imho, the wooden one was so much better, it also stuck to the pencil more than this plastic.

@@jessiiefay79 I am not much help with the eyebrows because I usually keep mine natural, but I do have some eyeliner tutorials, like this one: ua-cam.com/video/tsdOshCwuow/v-deo.html And more in the Eye tutorials playlist - the key to avoid it being too much on one eye and too little on the other is to go in small steps and check the symmetry on every step - that way you can correct a small line easily instead of having to redo the whole eyeliner. 😍

The one I have right here is from Eva Mosaic, but it's a local brand - depending on where you are, you might not be able to buy it - however, Nyx cosmetics sell a pencil sharpener as well - I've tried it before, it works fine!
That's not good! Usually it means that either the sharpener has a defect (did it break any other pencils, too?) or that the pencil is damaged inside, which sometimes can happen if you drop it. In that case it's most likely only broken in one place and won't break again. But in the first scenario, if it's the sharpener that breaks all the pencils, then you should get a new sharpener.

I believe Walmart sells usually makeup, so they should have sharpeners like this, too. Just ask a salesperson for a cosmetic pencil sharpener of regular size (sometimes there are also wide sharpeners for thick pencils, but these Epic Wear ones are regular size).

That's quite a natural thing to think given that plastic-like packaging! I've been doing makeup for many years, but I was also confused when I saw this type of pencil for the first time.
I think you can! I use them on my waterline, and they last really well! But, of course, I'd recommend testing one first just in case you have any reaction because it's a very sensitive area.

Hi! These are Nyx cosmetics Epic Wear liner sticks that I am showing here. Nyx cosmetics do have an Australian website where you can get Epic Wear liner sticks. Also there might be other retailers in Australia carrying this brand, just try to google where you can buy Nyx in Australia, I guess.
For these pencils, it isn't the big sharpener, it's the regular one, you can get one in pretty much any makeup store. If you need a bigger one for thick pencils, then, for example, you can get a sharpener from Nyx. I don't think you can sharpen these pencils with a knife because cosmetics pencils are soft, so the tip will just get ruined right away.
I wouldn't say you have to, but yes, that's how pencils work in general. 😀 You also usually purchase an entirely separate thing to sharpen the pencils you use to draw on paper. Unless, of course, you want to try to use a knife - some people go with that. But then you would have to purchase a knife...
It might be either an old sharpener or sometimes a defective sharpener might occur, unfortunately. I would just buy a new cosmetic sharpener, maybe from a different brand than you have now.
And if you want to be environmentally friendly like myself but still broke the top of the pencil of your girlfriend favourite colour then grab some cotton buds -> take the lid off -> and push the middle part out and sharpen it with a piece of paper… and possibly won’t cut your eyes out with a sharp & nasty plastic!!!
If you mean you can cut your eye sharpening with a sharpener, it's not going to happen, because (just as with regular wooden pencils) you don't touch your eyelid with plastic - just with the product itself.
TERRIBLE PRODUCT, IT SHOULD BE THAT HARD TO SHAPE IT. THE COLOR IS RIGHT, BUT IT TAKES A GREAT DEAL OF FORCE TO EVEN TRY TO SHARPEN. IT IS A COSMETIC SHARPEN.
What is terrible about it? You just take a cosmetic pencil sharpener and sharpen it like most of the cosmetic pencils in the world... Why does it take a great deal of force? 😮

I have a cosmetic sharpener but it doesn't sharpen properly and crushes whatever tip develops - but maybe the pencil itself is the problem.
If it does this to all pencils, it's most likely a broken or faulty sharpener - unfortunately, it happens sometimes. :(

For these pencils, it isn't the big sharpener, it's the regular one, you can get one in pretty much any makeup store. If you need a bigger one for thick pencils, then, for example, you can get a sharpener from Nyx. I don't think you can sharpen these pencils with a knife because cosmetics pencils are soft, so the tip will just get ruined right away.
When I opened the end I thought I had to twist there is white stuff in it? What is that?!?
I am not sure about the white stuff - I haven't opened it, but it's probably glue?.. But luckily, now you don't have to open it anymore! ;)

I wouldn't say you have to, but yes, that's how pencils work in general. 😀 You also usually purchase an entirely separate thing to sharpen the pencils you use to draw on paper. Unless, of course, you want to try to use a knife - some people go with that. But then you would have to purchase a knife...

I knew I needed to sharpen these, but every time I try to sharpen them, it comes out very rough and jagged. Not smooth at all like yours.
It might be either an old sharpener or sometimes a defective sharpener might occur, unfortunately. I would just buy a new cosmetic sharpener, maybe from a different brand than you have now.

And if you want to be environmentally friendly like myself but still broke the top of the pencil of your girlfriend favourite colour then grab some cotton buds -> take the lid off -> and push the middle part out and sharpen it with a piece of paper… and possibly won’t cut your eyes out with a sharp & nasty plastic!!!
If you mean you can cut your eye sharpening with a sharpener, it's not going to happen, because (just as with regular wooden pencils) you don't touch your eyelid with plastic - just with the product itself.
TERRIBLE PRODUCT, IT SHOULD BE THAT HARD TO SHAPE IT. THE COLOR IS RIGHT, BUT IT TAKES A GREAT DEAL OF FORCE TO EVEN TRY TO SHARPEN. IT IS A COSMETIC SHARPEN.
What is terrible about it? You just take a cosmetic pencil sharpener and sharpen it like most of the cosmetic pencils in the world... Why does it take a great deal of force? 😮
