'Howl' is soooo good. My favorite release so far from LOONA. I love that direction for Chuu. I hope she keeps doing these type of songs that really feature her vocals and maturity, but are still fun and dance-able to. I was really afraid she would be pushed into a cute song where she wouldn't be able to feature her amazing vocals.
Loved this different than you expected cred sound from Chuu. There is a maturity that I think has always been there but that she was not allowed to express in Loona. It wasn't here role. Howl feels like Chuu is taking a long held breath. Haseul's song was perfect! The horns! The bass! Her voice fit this vibe so well. In terms of jazz, I'm probably an outlier in that I've loved jazz since I was a kid and grew up with that 80s jazzy vibe, so this song was absolutely down my alley. And I love Heejin and get song. When she was in Loona, I appreciated her but always felt conflicted because of all the lines and screen time she got compared to others (absolutely not her fault of course). But here, I don't feel at all conflicted for how much I like this. This absolutely has an 80s pop sound - think Tiffany (not SNSD), Debbie Gibson, Exposé, etc. I love love love these solos and I'm excited for what they'll do next.
