Idea: would love to see a roundup of high capacity packs that are still comfortable for shorter people to wear (aka, not too tall/doesn’t dig into lower back) E.g, GR2 26, CTB 26, etc (basically a roundup of all bags >25L but under 19” in length. I feel like this may be the most useful “all rounder” type packs for the highest number of people.
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! Will have to start thinking of some of the best options in this size range to include in a video like that :)
Nice review! Some great features, no doubt. Big fan of Alpha - their bag quality and thoughtfulness…. As someone with a short torso - 5’6” / 17” torso, 18” is usually my max - do you think this bag might sit too low (at your height, it’s looks fine, even a little short). I would have loved load lifters, even if it compromised the aesthetic. I usually need to raise every bag. I wonder if the 1050 ballistic would have provided more structure so less poke through on front. Nice solution to reach laptop (is that an AquaGard zipper on top of laptop compartment, looks like it). Gotta say, I lean towards a separate laptop compartment, especially, in this case, water bottle pockets are short. Nit pick: logo in center of bag. Would have liked to see it down on left hand corner. In center, it reminds me of Tumi vibe - not that it’s bad, just prefer more subtle.
Thank you for watching and for the additional information! That is awesome if that is going to be a regular feature on the bag as this is a perfect one to pair with a rolling luggage!
Hey Danny. I'm thinking about picking up one of these in 500D on their upcoming preorder. Do you find the 500D on the Whitley to be a dust magnet at all, compared to the old Evergoods fabric before they updated theirs? I like the look and the durability, but am worried about it picking up a ton of dust/lint. Also, do you find that scratches/scuffs are easy to clean out to keep the bag looking clean for when I do bring it into my business casual office? I'm sure their 1050D ballistic would be a bit better for that but it does look a little techy for my taste.
Great review, Danny! I just heard about this bag this past weekend and was excited when I saw that you made a review on it as well. It's reminding me a lot of my Aer Lunar Pack that I got after watching your review! I love my Aer and only wish that it had the admin pocket!
Thank you for watching and that’s awesome to hear you were able to snag a lunar pack! Although I love this bag I still slightly prefer the layout on the lunar pack especially with the laptop sleeve being separate from the main area :)
I see the Vanquest ADDAX-25 as a close competitor to this bag. Similar shape and look. I was torn between the Whitley and the ADDAX and ended up ordering the ADDAX-25. I like the flexibility the ADDAX-25 offers over the Whitley and the dedicated laptop compartment. The only thing I didn't care for on the ADDAX was the internal water bottle pockets, but I barely use a water bottle so not a deal breaker for me.
Thank you for watching and I think the Addax is definitely a worthy alternative, I only had a chance to use the 18 but wished I had tried the 25 as I really liked the layout and quality of the bag
@@dannypacks Vanquest makes some pretty high quality gear. I might still pick up the Whitley someday, I also have my eye on the goruck gr2 26l and some of the TAD bags. I like my CPL24 but the material gets pretty linty and I'm not a huge fan of the shoulder straps/harness.
Thank you for watching! It’s pretty close and the Whitley does offer some additional flexibility with the water bottle pockets and front admin section, but I feel like I can squeeze just a bit more into the gr1
Thank you for watching! Definitely a useful feature on a bag like this, I heard it has been added to the production versions of the bag (this was a preproduction unit) so it might be worth checking out the site

Production version does have the luggage pass through strap

I am stupefied by the number of different bags you find!
Thank you for watching and I am definitely amazed at how many incredible bags companies keep coming out with!
Would like to see the Whitley compared to the CTB20
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! Will definitely add this to the list!:)
Great breakdown 👍
Can you compare this to the Bellroy transit 20L?

@@dannypacks Agreed! I definitely prefer my Lunar Pack over this one, especially for the similar price point.

Whitley or CTB20/26?
Thank you for watching! Although I prefer the harness on the Whitley overall I prefer the layout and functionality on the CTB
Surprised there's no luggage passthrough. Very much a missed feature and pass for me

@Traveling Salseros [Danny Barreto] ooh that's cool. I'll check it out thanks
