Of all the videos, this one is a pure experience! Had my first top rope climb since 1976 at Peter's Kill this year. At 69, looking forward to possibly doing Reach Around and to your future Gunks outings! If that's a 5.9, I must set my sights a bit lower. The absolute best display of adding protection!
At the end, after tying yourself into the rope through the chains, are you preparing to belay another who then cleans the protection? What device? Would you then pull in the slack while the rope is in the chains? Thanks. @@ethansclimbing3886
Tying a knot in a sling and putting it behind that flake feels more bomber and will prob hold better as the knot will "give" a little if you fall absorbing some of the impact@@ethansclimbing3886

I’m glad you liked it! And very glad to hear that you’re back on the rock after so long. Keep climbing!

I think I lowered off the chains, and my partner top-roped and cleaned it.
Nice!
Thanks! Always grateful to get on routes like this.
Nice! One of my favorites!
Thanks! I’ve walked by it so many times…this was my first time on it. Really enjoyed the moves!
Nice upload :)
Thanks!
Yikes! That flake sounded so hollow!
It’s a piece of mental protection at best. Sympathy for the poor soul who eventually falls on that flake.
