Thank you so much for explaining everything well, (G)I-DLE are not as problematic as everyone thinks, people just like hating on them because they’re successful and a two year group. I’d envy them too.
However you can also stan and support them instead instead of wasting time on being reported and suspended.

The Queendom performance was very problematic, there's no denying of that. Antis don't recognize the fact that Nevies mass emailed Cube about it because it fits their narrative that because we support them, we also get behind all of their actions therefore we are all racist too. I believe that's a very strong word to say and it should be reserved to people who have enough knowledge about a culture but still decide to mock, insult or disrespect it. From what I have seen, an issue only becomes big and gets an apology from idols if 1) Knetz make a big fuss about it on their forums and 2) The idols themselves understand English so they can see the complains of international fans. People said the "colorist" thing was spread by Knetz so that's why it got to Yuqi and she apologized but I also believe it was partly because she can understand English. Soyeon doesn't. I'm not trying to excuse her actions, what she did for that Fire performance WAS offensive and I really wish she apologized. But I think as fans, we have the right to talk about this because the ones that call them "racist" constantly clearly hate them with a passion. I mean, these are the same people who called Soyeon a bully because "she gives off the same vibes as Jimin"... Seriously? We know they don't care about bullying. Or CA. They just use Soyeon as a punching bag just like they do with Hwasa. That makes them horrible persons tbh. What I'm trying to say is, I don't think Koreans cared about the Fire performance being problematic at all. And I doubt Soyeon will find out if they don't talk about it. Talking from my own experience living and being raised in a country where racism is pretty normalized and not having English being our native language, it took time for me to learn what things were offensive to other cultures. I realized I said and did a lot of stuff that was wrong when I was younger but I wouldn't do it now that I know it's disrespectful to others. I think that happens with a lot of idols. It's really upsetting that every day there's something to call out as CA from a Kpop group. I wish their mindset evolved but there's a long way for that to happen so while we work on it, spreading awareness and calling out idols *respectfully* is the key.
I'm sorry about this long paragraph but I wanted to thank you for making this and addressing it in a respectful and educated way. I hope a lot of people can watch this and find out G(I)-DLE aren't the demons Kpop stans make them up to be. Thank you 🥰

As an hispanic woman I can tell THERE'S NO CA IN SEÑORITA, they didn’t use tradicional outfits, tradicional instruments, tradicional hairstyles, LITERALLY ANYTHING. My blood boils everytime someone say Señorita is CA, as if they knew more about our culture and traditions than hispanic ourselves. And the Ñ? That’s the most stupid thing that I ever hear. Literally, I think my 7 years old little brother can elaborate a better drag.

Our neverland's saver :') It's so tiring to explain whole those things to ignorant people everytime. Thank you so much for this 🙏🏼🙂
Idle members really have the kindest hearts, I can't even think that they would want to harm and make sad someone. If you know them a little, you can clearly understand that it's ignorance. And Neverland always try to solve problems we don't defend problems. Conversely, we mass mailed cube and other award show companies and no one actually helped us and we weren't that big fandom at those times.
Everyone loves to just complain and get attention by throwing hate towards idle. It's so sad, idle doesn't deserve this, Neverland doesn't deserve this.

For me even gidle never did something wrong on queendom, I'm from EU west and here history is a must signature, on Spain we have a lot of accents because of Roma times and we had a lot of "war cries" not inspired by Africa because those times we Roma were trying to expand and Spain that days were composed of many small societies, even from Canary Islands a lot of countries tried to obtain our spot for wars and we had another war cry also Silbo Gomero or La Gomera whistle, as that comment said sadly you can't see that as disrespectful because it isn't and even if it hurts war cry isn't from Native Americans or Africa, there's signs that Europe had this even before that times, the problem is when someone use a costume from a Native and mock them, but use this for a performance when the "war cry", because sometimes isn't a war cry is just a celebration, has a lot of different meanings you can't just say this one should be respected when they're using maybe other one on a correct way. Also Blackpink did the same for Boombayah and there it is people loving the song, the problem nowadays is that you should research that CA doesn't exist in the way you think, even universities debate about this and even Wikipedia that isn't truthfully says that, all of us "stole" the American Family design but oh well that's not CA is just normal for us, don't be stupid CA is when you manipulate something on purpose on a bad way, otherwise isn't a big deal.

Thanks for your input. I learned something new today. I guess the war cry idle used was still African inspired cuz everything else they did came from Africa. A few of my African friends didn't like it because like I mentioned before war cries are used to dehumanize African ppl in foreign media (including Korea, and my country). But now I see why it can't be offensive to some ppl while it can be offensive to others

the contreversies idle had are many but most of them are twisted to fit into peoples mindset , idle arent as problematc as people view them and that needs to change , (get this vid to 10k so it gets in peoples recommendations) furthermore gidle have constantly been a victim of slandering on twt and instagram with islamaphobic jokes name such as g-isis ethnic hipppers etc.. neverlands had to constantly correct people but most of them dont care about ca but use it to hate on groups , rifah worked very hard on this video along with many neverlands on twitter with extensive research done so i hope youll enjoy it

THAT'S MY DEFINITION OF CA, TOO! There's just people who'll try hard to drag Idle down, sis just go to your group and cheer for them, you don't have to wait for every moment for attacks.
For context, We were taught about cultural appreciation vs cultural appropriation at school, It was hard to deal with at first bec our country was colonized by a lot of nations for a very long time, and at a very inconvenient time (our country wasn't that civilized when they first came):
    Spaniards: 333 years
    Americans: 48 years
    Japanese: 3 years
We have picked up cultures that are not originally ours, some we have unintentionally appropriated bec we were not fully educated about it and thought as if it was already our own. learning about it in school and on the internet (credible sources) really opened my eyes about CA and what isn't.
Please be educated before you put any appreciation of a culture as an appropriation and disrespect.

But its just sad how idle is treated (for example on twitter) antis create unnecessary problems, situations for their own entertainment because they have nothing better to do
and when someone does apologise, like yuqi (tho she didnt have to) people dont care about that and just say stuff like "i dont care that u apologized.. you racist" which just shows that those people really dont care.. but anyways, thank you

This!! It's super ironic to me that they said "at least my faves apologized!" but that literally wouldn't change anything for them? They do it to hate, to get clout from "jokes" at their expenses. It happens with Mamamoo too. They DID apologize but they don't care, they still thrown them
under the bus and (I can understand in our case it's Soyeon cause she was the one with the idea behind the Fire perf) specifically target Hwasa. I'm not a fan but I heard they also apologized multiple times and to the public directly. Does it make a difference? No, it really doesn't. The hate continues and both of them get used as a punching bag. It's too normalized by now.

Imagine saying a word thats normalised to use in your country, just any word. And the next day get completely cancelled by a random country because that word has a different meaning in their language and are implying you meant that meaning even though you didn't. That was probably how soyeon felt she randomly got attacked for a word she thought was fine i feel like this can happen to anybody as there are probably words normalised in my country aswell that aren't in others

These video deserves a praise y'all.
Everytime I see comments about (g)i-dle being racists, accusing them with cultural appropriation, etc. I ask myself, where? when? how?. Like wth, yes they were ignorant for their Fire performance on queendom, but they didn't do it again. Haters just like to dig some loopholes about culturally related stuffs on them, to accuse it as an inappropriation. Haters just like to throw everything about cultural appropriation on (g)i-dle, because they are using various cultures since debut. Tbh for me, I would be proud and happy for a kpop/ other musicians my culture as a concept unless they would mock or disrespect it. Meanwhile in other kpop groups using gods and religious related stuffs in their songs or mvs but didn't get any hate as blatant as (g)i-dle's, I didn't wish them to get some hate, but it's unfair for (g)i-dle for being always accused by that. People should cut off those stereotypes and be open-minded, let's just appreciate what they are doing, unless it's too obvious for them to be canceled.

Hey can you make one on Mamamoo?
People jump and say they appropriated cultures without doing much research...
They have made a few mistakes just like g-idle. But again, research is required

9:06 it has nothing, many idols controversies are from TV shows. Or didn't you ever saw RM's black english from 2015? That's a bullish.

    • @nevietas8332
      @nevietas8332  3 роки тому +2

It's usually done with the permission of the show and Rm never directly apologized for that incident but instead he said "I was immature and I have hurt many ppl in the past....." on a vlive

And if they are learning about other people, they are failing because in Oh My God they used christianity as aesthetic to a lesbic song, what excuse will them make up now? Will you tell me that isn't insulting? Not offensive? That is. I'm pissed off many k-poppers pick and choose who to call out for bullish, but not for real issues.
