Aww, Alex. So sorry to hear that you're in the hospital. Hope you have a speedy and full recovery. It's kind of you to watch and comment under the circumstances. Take good care of yourself.
thank you. I am perplexed as to why you did not attach the mentioned documents that you received from the manufacturer. I would be very interested in the details contained therein and also especially I'm interested in the microplastics filtering capability as that is something that I'm mainly seeking to filter out.
Having recently purchased one of these I was very interested to see what the results were going to be from any information you received. The Grayl seemed like the perfect solution for my needs so I wanted this to be safe. Thanks for going to the trouble to reaserch this and the results are what I had hoped for. I Started off with your GSI Pinnacle /Bugaboo fry pan review and thought I would check out your channel. Like your style and have subscribed.
Thank you for watching and subscribing. We too like the Grayl for it's all-in-one design and wide-range filtering. Part of our focus is to share the type of product information that we find helps us in purchase and use decision making. To your gracious thank you we say, You're welcome."
@@louiselavigne5085 Every 12 months, but I have seen some reports saying up to three years but I believe the carbon becomes less effective after 1 year.
@@louiselavigne5085 Is there anything easier than the Grayl, personally, I think it's a terrific piece of kit and very quick to filter. Good luck with whatever you choose.
Used properly that won’t happen, and even if it did it still would not enter the clean water chamber. Been using one for about 18 months and had no problem with it.
@@johngrice2424 how do you improperly use it? All you do is press down on it, and sometimes water will squirt out the side at really high pressure, not all the time but its happened often enough to comment about it.
@Bluewolfe96 Actually I'm afraid not. I can read and follow instructions just fine. I always fill to just below the marked fill line not above it. If anything its because the cap needs to be almost fully open, not just turned the half a turn to the green mark on the cap like the instructions say.
So where are independent lab tests? There's nothing online and as far as I'm concerned all these filters do is make water clear. Whether it's actually clean remains to be seen.
No it will not remove fluoride nor will it remove Mercury I’ve even seen people try to filter salt water with this thinking it works on salt water it’s mostly used by survivalist drinking from stagnant water or traveling to foreign countries
I get mucus when I drink tap water I used the grayl to filter the tap water and I still felt the same way, when I drink bottled water I don’t feel that… not sure why this is
Sawyer squeeze and mini filters are the best imo, especially for bushwalking. They dont filter virus's, but they chances of coming across a water borne virus are practically zero in western countries. Its just a sales gimmick tbh. You can always boil if unsure which is safer than what any virus filter claims!
Yes the Sawyer filters are small, inexpensive and remove the most common waterborne threats [encountered in the wild in North America]. We have both the mini and the squeeze and have done a review on them as well. We included them in our water filter comparison video too: ua-cam.com/video/mgJ0voZrlO0/v-deo.html Widener included the Mini in their test and found it worked as advertised. There are actually quite a few good, quality options for water filtration on the market. We have made the conscious decision to select filters for our personal use that also remove viruses. That way no matter where we travel or what type of emergency situation we encounter, the filter we reach for is capable of removing as many waterborne threats as possible.
@@wobblyotteroutdoors Personally, I would never trust company claims when it comes to virus's. Not only can a virus make you violently ill and can possibly kill you. How could you claim damages, it would be to impossible to prove. My conscious is settled by boiling water, but then again as explained virus's don't really exist in western country water supply, also confirmed in the water collected in the filter test you linked. Sewerage water sure plenty of virus's, but nobody is drinking from that. You know our grandparents said to boil the water, and they were right! Company's talk garbage all the time, (also proven in the filter test link) and the scary fact the market is unregulated. Always boil if unsure, and that advice should never change.
Watching this from my hospital bed good info as always

Good job. Many claims made need more of this, verfiable results. I was a bit suspicious, happy to be proven wrong.
Thank you.

Why not few independent tests for a product like this??
What do they say about high pressure dirty water squirting out the side when you press down? Aside from that possibility it is a great product.
That's horrible. If you experienced that, you should contact Grayl customer service directly.

Yes. The filter is good.
Can it extract fluoride
@@SawYouDie Fluoride isn't specifically mentioned on the Grayl website: grayl.com/pages/a-closer-look

Will the Grayl Geopress water purifier filter out fluoride? Does anyone know?
Grayl doesn't say that their filters remove fluoride. Berkey sells a specific fluoride removing filter for their units.

Because I have yet to get sick.
Awesome answer!
I love my Geopress.
Awesome.
Of course grayl has documented proof. They need something to justify the price. Not good enough for me.
So your health is not worth a few extra bucks?
