Aliens are gonna get that message and be like oh cool, big light beam, hope that wasn't anything bad.
Great explanation. This is what I do not understand. This message was sent to the world’s BEST scientist to decide the Aricebo message. Yet, most couldn’t crack it in full. Then, a response 30 years later in the same binary code was made on a crop circle. So easily dismissed? How do you know it’s “artists”? Maybe this message was intersected by something else out there. There are cameras on the buildings where that crop circle response was made. Surely…..if it was man made, we’d have seen the video, no?
Is it possible that the aricebo message was sent colorized, maybe having different energy pulses for each group of images to help aliens decode and assign their own colors?
What happened to the Arecibo telescope? Just over two years later, one of the massive cables supporting the heavy science platform above the vast dish unexpectedly slipped out of its socket and crashed through the telescope in August 2020. At the time, it was obviously concerning, but it wasn't considered an emergency.9.2.2022
We have already received a RESPONSE to the message that was sent!! In the form of a crop circle in England!! Why you didn't include that in this video really makes me ask the question,. If your really telling a story why do you IGNORE the most important part? Is it IGNORANCE? OR do you have an agenda that your also hiding from your VIEWERS!! IT HAS TO BE ONE OR THE OTHER!! Because when I an absolute rookie did a simple Google search about the message that was sent... The FACT that another civilization RESPONDED was Right there on my screen!!!
I have for long been perplexed why they wanted to introduce this base-10 number system in the beginning of the message. It seems to add unnecessary complication for the code breaker. They could have used octal (base-8) coding which is much more natural number system when using binary code.
Arecibo message and voyager freely giving information to strangers in the space doesn't seem exactly like the best idea. What instead of wonderful scientific minded aliens, greedy corporations or something as awful listens to it? What if its imperialist instead or in immediate need of fleeing a lush planet at the verge of death? The idea is just stupid.
Most likely that if the presenter tried to make the crop pattern himself in the way it was found, he would encounter problems. The only way to show that the pattern was made with the help of advanced technology is to examine the bent stalks.
I was particularly disappointed by the mere 10 seconds dedicated to the “reply” inscribed in the crop circle formation of 2001 at Chilbolton UK . . . the rationale simply being because Earth scientists barely got to decipher the quantized message yet “ someone “ did in a crop circle inscribed overnight measuring a staggering 75 feet wide by 120 feet long , that alone is an impossible feat even with our current technology . . . but what is mind blowing is that the message had scientific rationale, so the author had to have a clear understanding of what the original message was all about , hence deserving more scrutiny and thorough evaluation all its own . . . The Arecibo message “reply” is listed in Wikipedia as a hoax . . . anyone could call it a hoax . . . I unequivocally would not . . .

I'm glad i got to see it before it collapsed. It actually adjusted the cable antenna while i was there. My friend who lived there for 30 years and seen it numerous times was livid when he heard because he never seen it move. Like i couldnt even laugh about it, he was so mad!....
7:42 AH okay, so Aliens get to play Human Minesweeper, i think they'll like that lmao.
My favourite friendly neighborhood astronomer! You rock Christian, thank you!
Thank you Vincenzo, thank you! Or grazie Vincenzo, grazie!
@@LaunchPadAstronomy btw I just learned from Europa's video that you are half italian, such a surprise! 😄
How do you know it’s “artists”? Maybe this message was intersected by something else out there. There are cameras on the buildings where that crop circle response was made. Surely…..if it was man made, we’d have seen the video, no?
Your videos r so interesting n the details r amazing .
Thanks fir for another lovely video.
Thanks Joe, it's always a pleasure to hear from you.
May the Force be with You !
Whenever I hear that, my catholic upbringing kicks in and it’s everything in me to not reply “and also with you. “
Is it possible that the aricebo message was sent colorized, maybe having different energy pulses for each group of images to help aliens decode and assign their own colors?
yeah they should have sent a gif !
EXCELLENT VIDEO THANK YOU
This is so beautiful
Came for the astronomy, stayed for the binary lesson.
An excellent presentation. Thanks.
It was decoded and it said, "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine."
Very funny.
Love Gene Sheppard
45yrs. later...WOW!
Some say there was a reply ....
In England by way of a crop circle.
13:10 :)
Just watched that movie Cosmos, and it had me intrigued about Arecibo! 👍
Outstanding explanation. Love it.
40,000 years later. We get a message. "New Dish, who dis?"
im just watching a doc, some dude it saying we got a message back from ETs WTF?
So, it''s Artists. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'd really love you to set out the scientific evidence behind that statement. Perhaps another video...?
We have already received a RESPONSE to the message that was sent!! In the form of a crop circle in England!! Why you didn't include that in this video really makes me ask the question,. If your really telling a story why do you IGNORE the most important part? Is it IGNORANCE? OR do you have an agenda that your also hiding from your VIEWERS!! IT HAS TO BE ONE OR THE OTHER!! Because when I an absolute rookie did a simple Google search about the message that was sent... The FACT that another civilization RESPONDED was Right there on my screen!!!
Hi there! I spoke about the reply at 13:05. Hope that helps.
P.S. don’t believe everything you find from Google searches.
Why is the answer just artists and no more info in it?
I have for long been perplexed why they wanted to introduce this base-10 number system in the beginning of the message. It seems to add unnecessary complication for the code breaker. They could have used octal (base-8) coding which is much more natural number system when using binary code.
Arecibo message and voyager freely giving information to strangers in the space doesn't seem exactly like the best idea. What instead of wonderful scientific minded aliens, greedy corporations or something as awful listens to it? What if its imperialist instead or in immediate need of fleeing a lush planet at the verge of death? The idea is just stupid.
You scientists are very special people!! You can write a book just using a few dots!!
Most likely that if the presenter tried to make the crop pattern himself in the way it was found, he would encounter problems. The only way to show that the pattern was made with the help of advanced technology is to examine the bent stalks.
I was thinking the same thing. If they could've proven the crop circle was man-made, they would've.
I was particularly disappointed by the mere 10 seconds dedicated to the “reply” inscribed in the crop circle formation of 2001 at Chilbolton UK . . . the rationale simply being because Earth scientists barely got to decipher the quantized message yet “ someone “ did in a crop circle inscribed overnight measuring a staggering 75 feet wide by 120 feet long , that alone is an impossible feat even with our current technology . . . but what is mind blowing is that the message had scientific rationale, so the author had to have a clear understanding of what the original message was all about , hence deserving more scrutiny and thorough evaluation all its own . . . The Arecibo message “reply” is listed in Wikipedia as a hoax . . . anyone could call it a hoax . . . I unequivocally would not . . .
I hope they did not invite aliens to dinner.
Why did it collapse? Was it Ancient Aliens?! LOL I sorta laughed.
Aliens decoding our message
Alien #1: [foreign language] So, how do decode this?
Alien #2 : [foreign language] Uh, I don't know where to start.
Alien #3 : [foreign language]
Huh, wonder if they decoded our message?
Love your show.
Did you notice that he 'thanks Magellan TV' in a brief commercial message ? There has to be a commercial message to get funding ....ask your self why that is...
I love your presentation .nice information
So nice of you to say, thanks!
@@LaunchPadAstronomy :)
Can you decode the 2001 reply?
there was an Arciba Answer in corm of crop circle... jus saying
Really? Artists? Somewhere out there? In a pandemic? I thought they'd all starved by now.
They probally harvested and stole the crops
What pandemic 😂
Chilbolton, Hampshire, UK. 21st August 2001. Tune up.
Guess they never heard of the "Dark Forrest" theory.
They DID figure it out and sent back a message in crop circles
We suggest the arecibo site be converted to a sports facility. Baseball comes to mind. The locals dote on it.
How many star systems will the signal pass through as it spreads out on its way to M13?
Him: anyone smart enough can understand this
Me who cant understand it:
*maybe im not a human after all*
Don’t really expect anybody to work that out let alone aliens
@@avw5kt considering it has taken several hundred years to decipher hieroglyphics, and these are recognisable symbols.. I don’t think theirs much chance
What are the odds that a drone would be in position to record the cable break causing the collapse of the radar?
So.. why only send one signal? Why the limitation to just that singular beam sent in time?
They sent a new message: "Sorry we weren't talking to you"
New phone, who dis?
