@@maryannhernandez9788 every laptop heats up, but for your information this laptop is actually pretty well cooled. it gets hot, but never to the point where you don't wanna put it on your lap.

I have the Air M1 with 16GB. I felt like I'm going to own this for years so might as well splurge for the higher ram.
Might as well since they removed the already-difficult user upgradeable memory.
Do you think it's better to get 512 GB SSD or 16 GB RAM?
@@breyerhorsestudios2964 if you have an intel mac or are buying one, go for the storage because the ram is somewhat upgradeable. Unfortunately now its not possible at all so id say upgrade ram and just buy an external drive

@@breyerhorsestudios2964 Definitely 16GB RAM as it is not user upgradable, and you can always get an external SSD drive if your 256GB becomes insufficient.

I'm curious how well it handles the current version of Adobe Illustrator and whether 16gb of RAM is noticably better than 8gb.
My new M1 MacBook Air was delivered a few days ago (just before Thanksgiving) the 512GB model and I love it.

Getting 16GB RAM instead of spending on extra storage would've made more sense in terms of future proofing.
You can always get an external SSD but you'll be stuck with 8GB RAM.
@@apathak34 Yes - but 256gb storage is a minuscule amount and I’d just need to travel everywhere with an extra SSD. I couldn’t warrant the pro because it was so much money just for 8gb, so same goes for Air. I’m not in dire need for the slightly better performance so didn’t bother :)
Also, I use 8gb slow memory on my daily driver Windows machine, so 8gb mac will be more than enough tbh

Now 3 years later and I just bought one of these for a great price. The battery life is amazing and it will not warm my hands (does not overheat). I’ve been using nothing but iPads for years and having this beauty is such a delight.
I wanna see iOS gaming on the new air.

@Michael Audie Sports that’s the thing, they are not. Some like COD even opted out. Which is why I’m curious to see how they work without optimizations , if they haven’t all opted out by now, ofc.
@@ShaolinDave I think that’s why so many games started opting out.
However even before this Enulators of android at least existed . And lots of people who enjoy the mobile games but are more used to mouse and keyboard gaming on a bigger screen preferred playing them via emulators like BlueStacks or Nox for example, despite the lack of optimization.
Personally I didn’t like the lost quality in graphics after emulating. But considering they can run natively on macOS M1 now there will be no lost quality when it comes to graphics , as for the controllers they will be as poorly optimized as they are on emulators.
Still, I’d much rather devs give us the choice instead just opting out.
I only play valorant and PES. Can this laptop run those games?
I'd watched Heads of Technology's live stream, I was asking for Clawbert (it's a cute game, by Hyperbeard) and they answered (edit: and they did searched on the Mac app store for me). The game wasn't available at that time, meaning that not all iOS apps are available for ARM Macs
A 9to5Mac article (iOS apps will run on Apple Silicon Macs, but major developers have already opted out of the Mac App Store) said that devs can choose their iOS apps not available for ARM Macs
@@tripthongUwU I’m aware a lot devs opted out, which is why I always ask from reviewers to show which games didn’t and heavier graphics games from iOS to be shown ( in case any that didn’t opt out left at all).
But seeing how most ignore the topic I’m guessing I’ll be testing myself when I buy it.
I have where to play those games I was just curious to see them on the Mac.
Devs opting out not only from game apps on the macs but social media and movie streaming apps is pretty shitty of them though.

Yeah, if you plan on doing any photo editing, video editing, music production, or you'll be hooking up an external monitor and running a few apps at once you definitely will benefit from 16GB. Otherwise you'll be more than good with just 8GB.
Get the 16GB, 8 is kinda borderline already and in a few years it'll be problematic.

I got the M1, gold, 8gb ram, 256gb version today for 15% off lol (part of black week, im amazed that the M1 version was part of the sale). Im super happy, finally Mac`s arent 100 years behind windows laptops anymore in raw specs. This M1 chip is super impressive in every single way, what im most looking forward to is the insane battery life tho.

Is the new m1 macbook pro good for video editing and daily things?
Mobile apps run natively so yes, absolutely, about like a 5000$ would, if I'm not wrong m1 support natively also final cut pro, so again about 5000$ of performance in your hands, and if it doesn't you will have to use rosetta and then you'll get the performance of a 16 inch macbook 2019.

AIR. The differences are not too much: the processor difference is only one and it's not really much, pro has 8 core gpu while the air has 7 core gpu. No fan, no touchbar, light, and smaller trackpad, and those aren't a big deal unless you care it

screen is somewhat brighter on the pro and it has a little better speakers

I have an m1 MacBook Pro and premier is great. Idk why some you tubers say it is not that good on m1 but it acts the same as it did on my old intel windows laptop.

Hey! I bought a MacBook Pro with specs below
CPU - M1
RAM - 16GB
SSD - 512GB
Price - 1699 GBP (with 249 GBP AppleCare+)
Reason I upped the specs is because I'm planning to make some more UA-cam video at 4k, hopefully some IRL footage with my 4k30fps XE-3. I know that the 8GB Air is good enough for this, but being able to do all of that + using the device at the same time intrigues me.
I know they'll release devices with an M1X(Z?) chip with better specs, but I'm not concerned about that, since by the time I'd actually need another upgrade, we'll be on the M3 or 4 by that point, and I'll keep the macbook pro around for basic use and get a souped up Mac Mini / iMac for the price, thoughts?
I’m unsure if I should get the MacBook Air or Pro. I use my old entry level 2013 unibody iMac mainly for school and music production (Logic and Ableton), with occasional Photoshop and Lightroom, and it grinds to a halt constantly with most apps taking ages to open.

Is it worth to go with the base model of MacBook Pro - Apple M1 Chip - 8GB RAM & 256GB SSD. I am not that heavy laptop users and don't perform multi-task. The only heavy application I might use is Adobe Lightroom for photo edit (just as hobby) Other than that, its regular web browsing, watching UA-cam videos, checking emails.
I'm saving my money to buy this laptop, I need it so bad for productivity and school purposes.
for the future: do not switch on a technical gadget that has been out in the cold and is still as you said "freezing cold" because it could break from it and this is not covered by warrenty

I upgraded to macbook air m1 from my 2015 macBook air. I couldn't justify buying more storage or ram since apple prices are ridiculously pricey. I don't mind external HDD or ssd/nvme
I pre-ordered the Mac Mini this past Monday 16th and apparently shipping was set for the 27th and luckily apple just sent me an email delivering it tomorrow!! Super excited for this ✨🙌🏻 (my 2015 Macbook Pro cannot render my current project)

I’m just mad that they only put 2 USB-C ports. Macbook air 2015 had a charging port (the magnetic kind), 2 USB ports, a SD card slot, a headphone jack port and a thunderbolt. They should at least put 2 more USB C ports to make up for those
I was originally going to buy the pro but i would have to wait till june to save up for it, but looking at the performance of the new air i think im just going to get the air and then i will be able to have it by February (ive been using an ipad mini 4 with a Bluetooth keyboard but its small screen and that fact that it is rly showing its age makes me rly need a computer)
