I lost both sets of parents within four months in 2018. I discovered this piece soon thereafter, and to this day, cannot listen to it without completely losing it. Thank you for posting such a lovely performance. It rips my heart to shreds.
@@ibamINV Then you will be delighted with echoes of this work in his Elegie for violin and piano Op.22. Daniel Hope has a wonderful rendition of this piece. I will also recommend Finzi's Romance for strings in E flat and Bagatelles for clarinet. Warm greetings from Miami. 🌞🦋
Absolutely the best performance of this piece I've ever heard. Slower is better and anything under eleven minutes (there are many) doesn't do it justice. Finzi would be pleased with this one!!
I have no issues with the tempo whatsoever. It's just played a little slower than many performances I've heard of this piece, but in fact I really like it. The pace readily connects with 'the soul' and I think, makes you inclined to be more contemplative. Thank you for sharing it.
I tried typing something but I can't. I'm trying to understand my reasons why I'm so affected by this music. Speechless by beauty! What an amazing orchestra and sensitive pianist.
What a piece from universe. Nostalgic, touching, peaceful and sadness a bit. Thanks so much for posting. I only have been listening recorded one but this video is so gold. Will visit regularly. Just saying that my elder son played Finzi's clarinet piece and won first prize some years ago so I thought Finzi wrote only clarinet but was so wrong.
This is the most perfect rendition I have heard! A little piece of heaven - uplifting and mournful at the same time. Like others have said I prefer the slower tempo ❤
I dunno... I was rather drawn in by that. But I am new to Finzi and now must find other interpretations for comparison. Which do you prefer and recommend listening to? THX
Why have I never heard this musical masterpiece before? I am glad I have finally found it - its quite exquisite
One of the most poignant pieces of music in the repertoire. Thanks to all for this wonderful music.

Don't understand why Finzi is not more famous. Maybe he will be one day.
A new discovery for me, for which I am grateful. This is only the second piece of Finzi's I have heard, and now I must search for more and listen.

Quite lovely and affecting -- Finzi was not afraid to exhibit genuine tenderness in his music.
Played with such warmth, tenderness, and grace.
Now Finzi's been found, he won't be lost again.
Time and space melt into music, beautiful timeless in solution.
Truly Beautiful remembering a friend who has died

Gut wrenchingly emotional. Full of longing and pain and love and tenderness. Finzi really felt.

Nothing wrong with s l o w.
Mr Plano is a real artist. Got moved by every single note played by this exquisite pianist. Bravo, Roberto !
The best interpretation of this piece ever. Both pianist and orchestra are awe inspiring.
Absolutely gorgeous. Finzi will dive straight into your soul.
There is something poignant and ethereal about this piece of music which cannot be captured in words. Sit back, sip a good wine and soak in...
Fantastic. I love the interpretation. Slower than most, which I really prefer. Also the tone of the piano ... wow!
This is One of the Most Sentimental pieces of Finzi, I just love it, it's amazing, perfect.

Soloist and Orchestra as one result sheer bliss. Thank you all.
A stunning performance of this wonderful music. Wonderfully sensitive. A pleasure. Thank you so much.
Just 4-4-2-2-1 and a Fazioli. Humanity at its best...

Excellent performance!
Amazing, I wish I'd been there.
Lo the musical masterpiece those Shepherds conversation inspired❤😂
Thank you Mr. Finzi
Bellissimo!
Ein wundervolles Stück ganz großartig gespielt. Vor allem vom Pianisten.
挖到寶了(雖然錄音不甚完美)!非常好聽!表情很豐富,節奏與速度好像非常講究,不會一味求快炫技或死板不生動
Very flowing
Finzi had a deep understanding of beauty.
MARAVILLOSA

Such beauty 0 so needed in such a barbaric world
Sorry but that opening tempo is just killing it a la what ravel said about his pavane.

Powerful but shame the last chord had to be spread like that
