My daughter has been using their products for a year and a half. After about a year, she formed a spot of alopecia (which has since grown back) but has been shedding ever since. It could be attributed to many things but she now has those tiny spots you recognized on your client’s scalp all over hers. I’m going to switch products completely and see what happens. Thanks for making us aware.
Too many people are experiencing hair loss from this brand for it to just be a fluke or some random allergic reaction
@@AfrikanHairGodYeah…this has been so stressful and I hope this is the answer. She is only 11. 💔
@@Mianicole115 I wish you all the best work finding a solution. Thanks for sharing your experience
I gave Innersense a try about a year ago and found it to not moisturize my curly/coily hair.... no longer use it. Recovering from curly cuts (had about 4 of them), my hair truly broke off and I've been stuck at the same length since doing them. Your channel has been so reaffirming and educational. I'm grateful for your time, consistency, and professionalism! Keep shining your light!!!
Thank you! Best of luck as you continue on your healthy hair journey! ❤️
Thanks for this video. The way Innersense is pushed at these salons is nothing like I’ve ever seen.
Yea it’s starting to give “pyramid scheme” like these stylists must be getting commission or partial ownership in this company the way they act like Innersense is the only product that works in the market
@@missnicolemarleythis! You cannot convince me otherwise that there isn’t a big kick back
@@rachelk4914The BCG lady was very rude when I asked for product suggestions as the UF gel was way too heavy and seemed to dry my hair. All she talked about was Innersense and UF line gels.
Sadly a lot of beauty products have horrible ingredients that people are allergic to. Dermatologist offices are filled with women, men and children that are losing hair. My dermatologist thinks it’s environmental as well
Don’t forget the food too
@@arewahaircaretv8718 you are absolutely right
I have never heard of innersense hair care line before
Me neither
Never heard of them... 🙄
I said that several times that it was the products that was causing these issues. I switched over to Innersense shampoo and conditioner and used the ICH. I loved the way the shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel. However, after using these products for about 4-5 months give or take a few months my hair became extremely dry, began shedding, and thinning in Jan 2023. I did not have these issues until I started using those products. I stopped using all of their products and my hair is doing better than ever. Thanks again for updating us. KEEP THESE VIDEOS COMING! You ROCK! PEACE!
🙏🙏🙏
I'm an ingredients list obsessive so after a quick look at their products, i instantly knew they would not give my hair enough moisture.... Even though i moisturise my hair every day! Unfortunately most gels dry out my hair.
My hair was hip length and MEGA thick. Had to big chop. I used the Black Girl Curls (BGC) method and product recommendations including innersense shampoo and conditioner and I Create Hold (ICH). And the other products. Severe dryness, my curls completely loosened - could have been the relaxer ingredient, potassium hydroxide in the ICH. AND the SHEDDING was horrendous. I lost SO much hair!!!!
I’m not surprised. I tried the gel I had a hard time understanding how everyone loved it when I left my hair terribly dry! I kept trying to use it in different ways to see if I just wasn’t using it correctly, but nothing I did worked. It was always horribly dry. I had to throw it out.
I developed scalp issues with the BGC method which I shared and I immediately stopped using all the products . I went to my doctor to receive blood work which came back that I was fine.
I was never a fan of the hydrating shampoo which I shared also I just felt it was very cleansing to my hair.
I never had much Issues with the gels but once they are gone I more than likely won’t repurchase.
I felt like the small window of time I used the recommended products my hair took a hit for the worst.
I loved their hydrating conditioner but now know it just not for my hair needs.
From Simply Tamz posting her video I am now aware that so many had issues with their products.
I think so many have moved away from the said method recommended products.
Knowledge is power! You have helped so many including myself tremendously.
🙏❤️ It's crazy how heavily it's promoted despite how many people have been experiencing negative issues with the line
Man…we just need to take back old school to what worked for our hair before all the products came on to the market. Let me go find some Cream of Nature shampoo 😂😂😂 it was the best back in high school during my relaxer days
I love the Creme of Nature red bottle shampoo!! It's so good. I've been using it for 8 yrs now.
@@lacigreystone621 oh thanks!!! I couldn’t remember which one I used but I just remember how soft my hair felt.
Right! I still use Pantene pro v. My hair Is fine
Now Crème of Nature irritates my scalp. I could never use that brand. I guess all products has the potential to cause irritation.
@@mzsbrown2844Hugs, Creme of nature has been an OG in my natural hair for 15 years. However definitely try another brand, if it's not working for you. I started to become sensitive/allergic/reactive to a lot of hair products since i turned 30. Now I'm 42 the latest thing for my body to hate is disposable tampons and pads so I'm on period panties and trialing menstrual discs and cups. They have organic and fragrance free disposables but for now i just want the reaction gone! You can't trust companies anymore. Even my trichologists make their own products because they do not trust other manufacturers and they need to know exactly what is in the products that a client might be reacting to.
So glad I found this! I splurged and got the harmony shampoo, inspiration conditioner, i create hold, the detox, and hairspray. It makes the back of my head itch like crazy. Like I was scratching so much people were probably thinking I had bugs. Ive tried just using one of their products at a time...same thing. Not to mention my curl started disappearing. Im white, fine hair, wavy and a little curly hair. I haven't had any problems with any other products making my curl disappear. I stopped all Innersense last week and pulled out the Aussie my son uses and the itching stopped and my curl is back.
I wanted to try Innersense since I've seen people recommend it for their curls but since seeing the hair loss videos..it's not worth the risk. Recently found your channel, keep on keeping us informed!
My hair is falling out from Innersense. I actually loved there products but can’t have fall out especially at those prices!!!!!
Maybe it’s a high concentration of essential oils, I think ‘organic’ brands sometimes use a higher percentage and I have noticed a lot of their formulas have a long list of essential oils. And essential oils are one of the most sensitising ingredients in cosmetics. The sad thing is that whatever ingredient causing allergies in the inner sense products which cause irritation in other products with those ingredients.
I tried the innersense gel with uncle funky’s curly magic. The innersense gel sucked all of the moisture out of my hair!! I stopped using it and only used uncle funky’s. When you use the uncle funky’s how they recommend without a leave in & on wet naked hair it made my hair stiffen up immediately & tangle. It was weird.
Thank you for using your expertise & your platform to bring awareness to all of the issues in our hair community!!
I wish you were closer to Milwaukee!! I need a natural hair stylist. It seems like around here majority of stylists do silk presses, sow ins, wigs, braids ….which aren’t really my thing.
Been using innersense products for years, zero issues. These products are concentrated, and not much is needed, lots of water when using.
Do you have 4c??
You are a lucky one.
Tbh I feel like people will blame products for the hair issues when it could be a number of reasons including other poor hair care practices.
@@dollyrevenge98 I read the ingredients on products and I already knew that the Innersense products would not be my go-to on an emergency for moisture, chelating or protein. I can use them but not solely them... Also given my sensitivite scalp any weird scalp itching with any products at it will be consigned to the wigs/hairpieces/extensions part of my stash. Also I can never skip leave in or deep conditioner...and i do not like styling products like gel or mousse. I tolerate a twist butter.
Same here, been using Innersense shampoo and conditioner for just over a month now and my hair has never felt so healthy.
I've tried a lot of products, many of which did not agree with me. Those being:
-Innersense I Create Curl Memory. Caused my hair to feel dry, figured out (thanks to other products) that it's because my hair can't handle glycerin in products that are left on the hair.
-Any and all mousses cause me to have an allergic reaction (immediate itching, and within 30 minutes, a headache and a dry throat).
-Giovanni LA hold gel and air turbo styling foam. Caused my hair to feel dry, even with the weightless moisture leave in underneath (which I still love today).
-Kinky Curly curling custard. I had to use absolutely loads of it for it to work, so no value for money at all.
-Shea Moisture raw Shea butter shampoo & conditioner. Had to use tonnes of it for it to go anywhere, the shampoo had no lather at all.
-Faith in Nature aloe vera shampoo & conditioner. Shampoo was horribly drying and the conditioner wasn't enough to compensate.
I've had bad experiences with a *lot* of brands but I'm not about to go out and cancel them. Just because something doesn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for someone else, there's a product out there for everyone and not every product will work for every person.
I have used I create hold and uncle funkys exclusively for at least 2.5 years and have rock wash 'n go for at least that long. BGC practitioner (but want to escape!), and shampoo and condition with AG products, I get trim 1-2 times a year. My hair has grown over time but it's SUPER dry. Not sure where to go from here. If you are still looking for a someone to do a live I would be happy to work with you. Lemmeno.
So you go to a cut it kinky stylist but want to stop?
I don't know how you all do/did it. If I'm choosing between soft, supple and moisturised but undefined hair and perfectly defined yet crispy hair... I'm going with the undefined hair. That's just me. I choose moisture over the defined style. I'm not going to say your way is wrong but the dryness would bother me too much. I moisture my hair daily with leave in mist... Sometimes twice a day. I have high porosity hair and that was what was recommended by my trichologists. I say if it works keep doing it but if it stops working for you there's no rule that say you can't change it up.😊😊
Hello! I'm an UFD girl and had the same issues with dryness initially. What I did was switch one styler for a moisturizing leave in. UFD works well with a leave in, at least it did with me. My WNG lasted longer and felt better with a good leave-in. My leave-in of choice is Kinky Curly Knot Today. Hope this helps!
@@marleyhill34I agree 100%! I had perfectly defined hair all throughout high school with the OG Xtreme gel (wet line is what ppl were calling it the last few years I think) but I always put a very creamy moisturizing leave in first
@@MiVidaBellisima Yes. I've noticed that people who used leave-ins and deep conditioners had fewer problems with dryness. I have very very dry hair but because I use leave-in mist and cream every day and deep conditioner every week, it's soft and touchable.....if not superdefined. As long as people are happy with their hair, I think that's the most important thing. Last year I wasn't happy with my hair so I coloured it. Even though I knew that would create damage, I had a damned good time with my bleached honey blond bayalage highlights! Most of it is trimmed off now but I had a good experience.
Yes. I figured that out a long time ago for my hair it was too drying.
Thank you for sharing this information! I have been experiencing scalp issues (irritation, shedding, thinning) for over a year, have been to dermatologist, had scalp biopsy, etc., etc. Was told to avoid aloe and phenoxyethanol. Exclusively using Innersense products and even shampoo/conditioner without the aloe caused itching and scalp irritation eventually. Am definitely switching to another brand. Appreciate you.
I hope that helps and if it does, please come back and let us know!
This is why I no longer have brand loyalty.. As I've gotten older I've developed all kinds of sensitivities to products so I have to use what works and doesn't cause me a problem. We all know that brands like to switch up manufacturing methods and ingredients and then we wonder why something that we have use for years is now making us sick...
Used a lot of the innersense products and that uncle funkys curl magic. I'm not surprised that the products are sketchy. Everytime I used the hair products in the shower it made my skin itch. Also i experienced breakouts on my face. I noticed that once I stopped using the products my skin turned back to normal. My hairline also thinned out too. Smh, what a mess.
Been using them for a year now and have had no issues. i love their gel but i also use a leave in i also use other gels as well my hair has grown got a trim recently. It is something I am monitoring due to these discussions.
The leave-in, might be protecting your hair and scalp. The original BGC method was to use no leave-in and no deep conditioner. My stylist and trichologists were astounded when I told them this. I'm always wary of brands that do not have a leave-in or a deep conditioner. All the high-end salon brands have leave-ins and Masks. Redken, Keratase, Wella, Keracare, L'Oréal Professional, Design Essentials, Mizani, Aveda and Olaplex. Innersense has a similar price point but not as wide a range to meet different hair needs.
@@marleyhill34 thats true i caught on early that i liked using a leave-in so that could be why i am doing okay. I also rotate gels too Kinky Curly was my go to and still is. i deep condish like once a month also
@@narabi Yup everyone who used leave-in and deep conditioner even if only once a month seemed to be ok like Jenn J. Kinky Curly is an OG in these natural hair streets. I don't use raw oils or butter or grease on the advice of my trichologists but they definitely insist that I use leave-in every day and deep conditioner every week. They looked at my hair and scalp under a microscope/trichoscope so I trust them more than brands and the online workshop people. I believe in seeing and feeling the hair in person regularly to understand how it behaves. You can't do that through a device screen. Brands will sell you horse pi$$ for an exorbitant price if they can get away with it. Lol!
@@marleyhill34 can I ask what you deep condish with? I was using the mielle one but looking for others
@@narabi I use a few different ones depending on what's on sale and how my scalp and hair are behaving. I have two made by my trichologists for my sensitive scalp and hair. Storebought ones are Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Deep Treatment Masque, Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Hair Masque, Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep Conditioner, As I Am Hydration Elation and ApHogee Curlific! Texture Treatment. I rotate between a protein deep conditioner and a protein-free or low/silk protein deep conditioner.
I experienced scalp sorness, very itchy scalp last year and the shampoo I was using was innersense harmony hair bath (i think thats what it wad called). I thought it was because my hair is short but ive been rocking my short hair for over 10 years and never experienced it. I stopped using it and haven't had an issue since then.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope this helps a lot of people.
I hope so too 🙏🏽@@AfrikanHairGod
I had a huge problem with their products and my hair hasn’t recovered. I will be chopping my hair again.
This is the problem I'm having! I've stopped and restarted and it makes the back of my head itch like crazy!!! I was using the harmony hairbath and pure inspiration conditioner.
Here is SimplyTamz's video on her experience with alopecia with innersense products ua-cam.com/video/xyIOk8v1D90/v-deo.htmlsi=fb3YdYfbRmhKaOpf
It's likely a fragrance causing the sensitization issue. The bad thing about fragrance is that it can cause you to become sensitive to it and other compounds in the same formula even after using it for DECADES. Using fragrance free when possible if you have sensitive skin, dermatitis, and/or eczema is really worth the effort.
It may not be the fragrance at all. Natural extracts in
vegan/natural/organic products are causing all kinds of reactions even if they have no fragrance. Natural isn't always better.
All these products were matural/ organic and no added fragrance tho😮
I wonder if there’s a specific fragrance in the products that’s causing probs, I know folks who stopped using ICH due to serious hair and scalp issues but then went on to use other conventional products with fragrances parabens silicones etc with no known reaction
That really sux, because i started using the innersense shampoo and conditioner, leavin in spray and sometimes the hair lotion. I loved the how much slip i was getting and how soft my hair got. I even raved about it and recommended it.
Thankfully I'm beginning to run low on the leave in.
I stopped using all gels. If they don’t feel right they sure can’t be good for the strands
I’m so glad that you did this video! I stepped outside the “Innersence” box for the first time in 3 years last week. My hair has never felt so soft & manageable.
Damn....the change must have been instant....I have zero brand loyalty because..they like to switch up the formulations and discontinue products so I always make sure that I have alternatives in my stash. I'm more loyal to my stylist and my trichologists.
Just wanted to add to your arsenal of questions during consultations with clients. Something we don’t pay attention to that affects our hair and skin is our gut health. It might be tough to segue a conversation in that direction but I recently started reading Younger Skin Starts in The Gut and you wouldn’t believe the amount of issues we cause ourselves just be needing a healthier microbiome. This could be beneficial for clients with thinning & breakage as well as what appears to be dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.
Thank you for this video and for the community input. For the first year I enjoyed the products. After a year my hair shed out and now I look like I have female pattern baldness. UGH. In the trash they go. Y'all have confirmed my suspicions. I thought maybe I was crazy.
Oop. I know I couldn't try their products even if I wanted to, not with those ingredients lol. As I've gotten older more sensitivities have developed, especially with shampoo and conditioner. A lot of these new products marketed as all natural and clean filled with essential oils I can't use.
I'm 42 and same as I've gotten older, I've developed sensitives to hair products, makeup and tampons. Ageing is so much fun... Not! I'm dreading menopausal vaginal dryness! 😅🤣🙈😂 But seriously even pharmaceuticals like antibiotics make me ill. I already told my doctor not to give me any steroids unless it's life-saving and there's no other alternative. The last thing I need is steroid withdrawal.
BGC methods destroyed my hair. My scalp was inflamed and my hair was dryer. The products they recommend aren’t formulated for our hair types.
I honestly had no problem with my Diva cut and color for many years until Innersence products. Also that whole no leave in, no oil thing was just to get their drying gel to work on Afro textured hair even though it was never made for our hair.
Educational And Informative Post
The last time that I used the Innersense gel, my scalp felt like it was on fire. To be fair, Uncle Funky's Daughter also irritates my scalp.
Same
I have I Create Hold and Quiet Calm Curl Control that I have used with Uncle Funky’s Daughter. I haven’t used it in a while and never consistently. I’ve never noticed any problems but thanks for the heads up 👍🏾.
‼️I used their gel that BGC recommends once an my hair and my head starting hurting immediately after applying! I am
Not prone to headaches and that was the only thing I did differently. It was so bad that I had to rewash and style my hair the same day bec I couldn't take it - luckily my symptoms didn't linger too long thereafter. I really have no idea what ingredient may have did that in the product.
Returned it immediately, and will never try their products again.
I used innersense years ago and I did notice quite a bit of hair shed but I dismissed it. I remember it being a mediocre product not worth the price in my opinion.
I said it must be the products cause I do WNG 70% of the time and never had a problem with dryness but I do the Dickey method and use hair rules curly whip to style and the hydrating finishing balm to refresh
Innersense products are very concentrated which may be okay for the strands but can be dire for the scalp, especially in the case of the shampoos if you do not have an oily scalp from naturally getting oily or maybe being a head sweater from the gym. I had hair thinning too from the shampoo recommendations from BGC but it got fuller when I used a different brand that's more mild.
Big Chops, hair Loss, long-term skin Issues arising - I don't mean to sound petty but when have these major issues ever occurred from YT University
Innersense products broke my scalp out in dermatitis bumps
Isn't that line also fairly expensive? I am wondering who are the owners?
UFD and Imnersense yield a gorgeous wng! But....i.end up scratching my scalp to the skull😦!
Innersense products were horrible for my hair. Frustratingly, there are some stylists that require you use them for a month before booking with them.
The problem with this method is thinking that there are products that work for everyone. I have very low porosity type 4 hair and it absolutely doesn't work for me.
Here's the question that remains for me: what hair alternative products can I use for wash and gos? I have an intentionally short taper so things like twist outs and braids aren't what I'm going for
I've had the same stylist for 8 years who worked at an Aveda-affiliated Salon but never pushed Aveda products on me because 75% of Aveda products do not work on my hair. Lol! And my stylist knows this!!
I suggest looking at the naturally curly website for all their suggestions on low-porosity hair. The reality is that there is no cheat sheet as to what products will work for what hair and scalp. It's all trial and error mostly. I will say for low porosity you might want to incorporate steaming your hair with a plastic cap and hot towel for 20 minutes every day or every other day and for 30 minutes with deep conditioner on your wash day. My trichologists prescribe steam to everyone regardless of scalp type and hair type.
Also, it all depends on what your hair needs/preferences. For example, I have very dry high porosity hair and I prefer a soft, touchable, undefined/half-defined? wash and go in the summer only. So I use a leave-in mist and a leave-in cream conditioner every day and minimal amounts of gel and definer on a few random pieces around the front and back hairline/edges. I usually do not define the crown of my head and I just let it do its own thing. I also use deep conditioner every week. I also swim a lot so I use swim-specific products on those days. When my hair is super moisturised, it actually forms its own definition on it's own so I can skip the gel, mousse, definer, etc. My stylist and my trichologists have already told me not to overload my hair and scalp with styling products.
There are many large brands that don't declare certain ingredients, and it takes a separate independent labs to reveal what is in them.
Hello, I have watched some of your videos. They have been informative. I watched how the D39 Denman brush worked. I brought one, preparing to take better care of my natural hair. The brush is small, compared to regular paddle brushes.
The full size? Or the petite? I am not sure if you mean the denman d38 brush but it's around the same size as typical paddle brushes
My Aunt has had very sensitive skin and scalp since childhood. Even though she has never has tried Inner Sense products, she has had an allergic reaction to a variety of hair products that are labeled organic/natural/vegan. She has no reaction to things like Creme of Nature, and I told her to continue using what works for her. I read an article a while back about Dermatologists seeing an increase in people having reactions to these types of products even when there wasn't fragrance in them due to varying natural extracts, preservatives, etc. I hope everything clears once they stop using those products.
Yeah I have reactions to organic/natural products. You can be allergic/sensitive to essential oils which a lot of people do not realise.
Man sorry to hear about Aphogee, I literally just bought my first bottle of it per your recommendation and I love it so far.
I had a 2 month period of trying to commit to the BGC method and even paid for one month of "education" in the beginning. I should've known better when I was asking about trying to slowly transition the AG Care and Innersense product recommendations into what I was already using so I wasn't spending a boatload. The ringleader acted like I wasn't ready to change if I didn't want to commit to all the products at once 😂
Lol@the ringleader....why does that sound like a cult. Lol! Girl I've seen this natural/curly hair fiasco for 15 years. Brands, Stylists, Influencers tell people to use a product/method/tool with zero professional oversight when examining their hair and scalp, and it always goes pear-shaped. I see 2 trichologists and 1 stylist and they can tell me when my scalp is inflamed and when my hair is dry/too weak so that I can take evasive action and modify my methods. They look at my hair and scalp in person every 16 weeks so that we catch any problems sooner than later. When my stylist coloured my hair, I went back to him 2 weeks after and one month after so he could monitor the condition of my hair. I started to have signs of breakage after month 1 so he said to use Olaplex no. 3 every week.
Meanwhile, these ladies were paying 1000s and never sitting in a stylist's/trichologist's chair for several months! One thing that has never changed in 15 years..the science! I have never stopped using deep conditioner or leave-ins....because I have dry, high-porosity kinky 4c hair....The science says that dry high-porosity kinky hair needs deep conditioner and leave-in conditioner. Now if you have low porosity or fine or coarse hair you might need a different type of deep conditioner or leave in but you won't be able to cut it out altogether. Also if you have a sensitive scalp or lots of build-up/flakes, you cannot get away from shampoo...see the co-washing only fiasco. Haircare is not one size fits all...but there is a science behind it and if something isn't working ...people need to stop doing it and find something else.
JUST MY OPINION: The bottles of this brand is too small for me that’s why I never used it. Any company to market towards black women for hair care should know we need big bottles. If they don’t care about how much product we need they definitely don’t care about what ingredients they use.
Thank you for this, AHG.
I uses it only on my ends for mini braids. Then 2 days later my ends was dry.it will dry out your hair fast.but will go smooth and dry Crunchy.but after 2 days it will be very dry
I've had no issues but I studied these products before I bought them (like I do everything). I think some people are probably using too much product and not rinsing well, especially their scalp. Who knows.
I've been happy with the Innersense products I use. No complaints. I also use a leave in conditioner (not Innersense), which is moisturizing.
😮whaaat ...THANK YOU for the heads up
Thanks for this information. Appreciate you doing the work you do.
It’s the over use of essential oils. It irritates my scalp. The cheap drugstore stuff doesn’t make my seborrheic dermatitis flair up. Dry hair is not really an issue for me. I do find that my hair feels softer with leave-in and has way more slip. I’ve been over all that green washing, all natural, clean product BS. I developed cancer while going through that phase and I haven’t looked back. You never know what you might be sensitive to. I just know essential oil dominant product affect me more than synthetic fragrance. I also think synthetic fragrances smell better.
I love watching your videos!😊 You have so much information on nature hair but I do think it so hard trying to figure out what is the cause of all these issues with breaking, splitting and dryness to the hair. It seems like with all the products we can find the best solution. Maybe just going back to old school GREASE!
I’ve tried the hydrating hair bath and the cream conditioner. Not a fan of the conditioner, don’t like the smell or texture, it’s nothing special. However, the hydrating shampoo is fantastic, great lather, concentrated and smells amazing and hair feels great. 😮
Very informative video. As always 😊
My dermatologist recommended the shampoo and conditioner when i told her my hair felt dry. I actually really like it. Been using it for about 3‐4 months. I don't use the styling products. I need cream stylers for my hair. Gel/foams are dying for me.
I think black hair is more accustomed to products with a higher pH. Innersence is more on the lower acidic end which some scalps cannot handle.
What makes you say that?
I'm white and my scalp does not like Innersense!
It dried my hair out really bad. I did not like innersense thank God I invested in a travel size and not the full-size.
every “curly hair” hairstylist has pushed this line and I can’t understand paying that much for such little product. Glad I passed.
I would pay....if it worked for my hair.....I buy Olaplex and Aveda at a similar price point. However, those brands work for my hair and they don't cause damage to my hair and scalp. That was the most offensive thing to me......paying for services and products that don't work and that cause damage. I don't use raw oils and butters but I didn't pay as much as these ladies did for the online service and products. Also because I'm an "ingredients" fiend, I always read the list on the back or bottom of the product so I know exactly what results to expect....Most of the BGC recommended Innersense, I would not have bought...The funny thing is that Innersense does do products that I would have bought that are for more sensitive scalps and drier hair.
It's because the products are incredibly concentrated, you're only supposed to use the absolute tiniest amounts. I bought a bottle of their hydrating cream shampoo on 14/04/2024, went through a period of washing my hair daily (I'm trying to get out of that habit now) and I'm not even a quarter of the way through the bottle.
I use the hairbath, conditioner, and the leave in. I hated the gel
::gasp:: i use innersense hairgel. Ooo please give me the tea on these products!
The first time i used those products, my eyes swelled up so bad and were so itchy. My allergist said it was due to breathing it in, in a hot steamed shower because it barely got on my face. Never again
Innersense products are concentrated. All of the products are really meant to be diluted with lots of water. If you don’t dilute them you will definitely have issues.
Concentrated with what exactly? Is that what they told y'all to justify the price?
@@AfrikanHairGod I mean concentrated because it is very easy to over apply the products. The products need to be used with more water than I think the average consumer realizes. This is the main issue I see with their products.
@plee6223 so to me that sounds like understanding proper application of products as opposed to it being more concentrated. When I used them, I didn't really notice much of a difference but maybe that applies specifically to the stylers
@@AfrikanHairGod I believe Innersense products have a learning curve for consumers. The texturizing cream and hydrating moisture mask also need a lot of water to work properly. I think this is a big issue for consumers. But my opinion is based on my experience using the products. I personally enjoy some of the products, but I don’t recommend them to most of my friends. I believe they can cause a lot of damage if you’re not going to adapt your routine to use the products.
Is Innersense going to be the next Deva Curl?
Honestly... I think it's interesting that these lines cater to wash n goes and ppl keep trying to fight the truth about how healthy they are...
I have used their products in the past, it is very very drying. I did notice that my hair was coming out much more in the shower, and then I realized that was due to the severe dryness caused by these products . I did not like the shampoo or the conditioner. I threw them out. I will never use those products again.
You may not believe in it but someone has done root work on you and it's a male and female "friend " you were supposed to go into business with.. Blessings and Protection over you
Idk what that means....?
Been there and done that with Innersense. My hair felt like hay both wet and dry and it made me itchy. I tried it for less than a month and threw it all out. Those products were not good my hair.
Has to be a life lesson or two in here somewhere
I highly recommend you don’t use these products. I used the shampoo and conditioner 2 times and it took my hair out completely. I would avoid these products at all cost
Lolll i was just about to buy some
Can you suggest shampoo and conditioner?
Can recommend other brands to switch to?
I used them for a year and had similar issues. Are there any other shampoos and conditioners that you recommend instead? I have been eyeing briogeo
Did your issues start immediately or did it take time?
@@Mianicole115 I used them exclusively for two years. I think the products they were prescribing didn't warrent frequest use of harsh shampoos, and not using a leave in with the regular heat to dry my wash and goes without any leave in/ heat protection dried my hair out. So it was a combo of all of these things not just the shampoo regimen
Also and zero deep conditioning with all that heat.
@@Michelle-dm3nl sorry, I don’t see your first reply for some reason…
@@Mianicole115 weird ! I said the shampoo regimen from BGCs is too drying for the type of products/routine they push. I was not using oils or leave ins but using strong shampoos every week. Then sitting under a dryer every 7-10 days with just gel in my hair. And zero deep conditioning. Just to get defined curls that can last a week. It was wild the more I think about it lol.
I did this routine for 1.5 years, im sure there was damage building up from the start but my hair was full of splits, dry and breaking by the end.
I’ve been wearing this stupid kinky ponytail from Amazon for like 2 years and I have not look at the middle of my head my aunt says my hair damaged and I may have to cut down short I definitely have split ends of all sorts but I’m wondering should I actually cut it can I save cuz my hair is shoulder length and it has grown since I cut it last (cut it at home :/ )
Maybe she should have the products she's using tested for full ingredients instead of going by the ingredients on the label
Allergy tests don't really work like that
@@AfrikanHairGod I know but I was saying since you said there might be more ingredients in the products than what's written on the label that I why I suggested maybe she get the product tested for proper ingredients list just to see if there's a hidden ingredients in there☺️🤷🏿
@@rfinna8029 she doesn't have the product it was administered by her stylist and she threw it away after she informed her of her reaction.
@@AfrikanHairGod okay thanks 😊
