Troubleshooting the climate control system - Авто та транспорт
That was a lot of help, i learn by doing , reading ,doing ,reading. and watching this confirmed what i couldnt see. Not looking forward to removing the dash. Very helpful videos
So glad they helped.
Excellent video. I've had my 1983 300D for about 1 1/2 years and just about to the point where I need to get that dash off and replace that center pod.
You can do it it's not that bad just watch the videos ;)
@@woodsandbarclay Your videos are great. You're doing what I've been sort of been dreaming of doing as far as restoring and re-selling these cars but don't worry, I'm still a beginner really. But I really love these w123s.
To make things even more confounding, Mercedes designed these systems to open recirculating flap to bring in a percentage of outside(fresh) air for "safety" purposes supposedly. So when you need max AC you're still processing some outside air. Many people rig it so that it only works with the EC button.
Great information! Thank you for sharing that!
Good memories, fixing those pods has been some of the most rewarding work. I've had good luck fixing solenoids with brake cleaner.
I'll try brake cleaner in the solenoid that's a good idea.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
;)
Great Video !. Do you have videos about how to Check evaporator of fix the heat exchanger Radiator ?
I'm sorry we have not posted any video showing that yet but maybe in the future.
Good! Kit that I used myself.
Yeah it works fantastic
Интересно лайк👍🏻👌🏻
:)
Good stuff! No matter what setting is selected, I get air from the defrost and all the vents. I don’t want to take the dash apart. Is there anything easy I can do to rule stuff out? Actuator vs valve. Thanks
The defroster pod is on the driver side down by your leg on the side of the center console.
Great tips.... i have done both strickers.... it worked great!
Can you tell us, where did you buy the diaframes?
Thank again for your video
I got the diaphragm from George Stephanie called performance analysis.
How to get also diaphragm kit ?
You can order the vacuum pods from George Murphy performance analysis
Great video, thanks. How did you test the solenoid for proper function? thanks
Sorry I haven't watched this video in a long time but if you're talking about the small cube shaped solenoids behind the climate control unit you can just hook 12 volt power to them and if you hear them click they are working. Once installed back in the car you test them by pressing the buttons on your climate control unit and all your vents and flaps should open and close correctly.
@@woodsandbarclay perfect - Thank you!!!!!
@@woodsandbarclay super Rad!! Thank you!! Getting ready for the big overhaul! Appreciate it!
😎👍
from where you find new solenoids? with 2 vacuum connection
Your best bet is going to be to look on eBay. We normally just rebuild them.
Is it possible to repair a solenoids?
And how would i know if i have bad solenoid🤔.
Whatever i press on my climate control, there is only heat on defrost.
hey john where did you get the diaphragms from?
You can contact George Murphy who owns performance analysis in Tennessee.
are these the same strikers as w126 cars?
Yes you can use the same rubber insert on the w126
Do you happen to have the part number or link to the tab you used on the door assembly?

That guy has a lot of parts. He's in Thailand but if you're not in a hurry, that's the cheapest route. I ordered them. He is very responsive with email updates and seems trustworthy. I scored the web and as far as I know, they're the only source.
@@michaellucas4953 just don't order the wood trim replacements they are junk and do not match the original Mercedes.
Too bad. My car could use that. My wood is ratty. The rest of the interior is nice.
Where do you get new solenoids?
You don't you get used ones from parts cars.
@@woodsandbarclay Thanks so much!
@@doublecabriole also check on eBay just about every single part for these cars is readily available on eBay
@@woodsandbarclay Will do! Do you happen to know the part number? I've been trying to find it on parts diagram and have been unable.
Thanks so much! I love your videos.
