I feel like a part of my life has died. The very first recorded music I ever bought for myself was the Look Sharp and Joyride CDs - but I had to buy a CD player as well to listen to them! Then as I got older I moved on to other bands, and I never played them a lot for my kids, so they don't know what this means to me now.

I feel like this pop-cultural smash from a faultless album marked the end of an unsurpassable era of pop music that absolutely smashed all your emotions into an exhilarating end emotive good mess over and over again. Everything about life was heightened and processed on another level by having music like this as a backdrop. All the way through the 80's up to this early 90's point. Everytime these songs pop up randomly it's like a punch in the stomach. So many feelings and memories come crashing over you and it often feels too overwhelming.

Watercolours in rain and things will never be the same caught me completely unprepared and my sparkly new cd player had them on repeat play for longer than it would cared for them to be. Popping that CD in for the first time just felt liberating. Per and Marie caught all my teenage emotions in musical pills that kept me high all day long.
