Dude I’m trying to play fire for the first time too and watching your videos is making me realize we are having the exact same emotions while playing this spec lol
Hahaha, I think the emotion is: "Self loathing", at least that's what I feel every time I waste an SKB Combustion by using my actual Combustion. Which I've gotten a lot better at after practicing! Now I just need to work on Combustion uptime (:
Hey! Dont let yourself get intimidated! I think u freely exploring the specc and slowly learning it is really cool and I enjoy watching u grow into it. Making mistakes is negativly connotadet in society but its just a very normal part of learning/living. Remembering what kinda problems I had and how I felt when I tried to play the specc, I would say: U are doing fine, give ur self time - u will definetly get there :)
Seeing you learn the job is what we're here for. No fear of sucking at first, it's all on the way to true Honestly after my M+ group fell apart at the start of BfA I told myself I was done with the game. But over the course of watching your videos I notice, that I'm really getting the itch to play again myself. I think that speaks of the quality of your videos lol
It feels nicer this video as people are being respectful about not teaching me how to play the class! So I feel more comfortable sucking while I'm still learning, hahaha Thanks so much for the kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. You should give it a shot if you feel the itch and have the time. Game's never been better in my opinion (:
Time is a thing, but the itch is definitely there lol I'll give it a think. As I've seen from your videos, the levelling is not a giant timesink anymore, it seems.
you can cast fire ball out side of combust while under 100% haste, the 100% haste rule is for inside combust because after 95% haste or so the cast time of scorch is lower than the minimum gcd so it does not save you time to cast scorch instead of fireball, outside of combust and above 30% hp you want to still use fireball
I'm not great or anything but there are some very useful weakauras to indicate instant pyro and skb being available that show as flame around the center of your screen.
Hey Vlad, feels to me like you're being harder on yourself this series than usual. Might be because it is both a new spec and a new role (ranged), but honestly you are doing really well. When I started on fire mage a few years back, it definitely took me longer to get to where you are now mechanically. As others have pointed out, you are a quick learner. Fire mage's damage is very scripted, and because your channel is getting more attention (well deserved, btw) and it is a meta spec, you have probably been reading more feedback to your rotation than with the other series. But what is appealing, to me at least, is watching you learn. Also, I've read comments saying things like "only show the dungeons" and stuff like that, and I couldn't disagree more. Watching the whole process is what makes your channel stand out from the rest. It is honestly why I keep coming back to watch every new series. Of course there is also the time spent editing to consider, so I understand the need to show less. But, if possible, I'd ask to not get rid of it completely. Anyways, I'll be watching your content regardless because your videos are my favorite ones to watch now.
Thanks so much for the kind and reassuring words. I guess I am being a bit too harsh with myself. I think it's mostly because I know that I _can_ do more with other classes, so I'm putting expectations on myself to meet that same performance a bit too early on for a DPS spec as complex as Fire. I will keep leveling as a part of the series as a 1 episode thing, then maybe add 1 episode of showing what I do to gear up as a fresh 70, but to put it simply, working a full time job and doing these series' is really hard and for full transparency, I'm trying to make UA-cam a full time thing, so I'm forced to make a few decisions to keep interest rolling for the videos, which unfortunately ends up also being decisions that some people may not like to see. The way my recording sessions work is that I do my 9-5 job, then record for about 2 hours, give or take 30 minutes and then edit for the rest of the day. So 3 days a week I'm working from 9 to usually about midnight, sometimes longer. Recording raids takes me about 3-4 hours because PUG raids are often very, very slow to form and go through bosses, on top of that there's more to edit through, especially with failed pulls, which then forces me to stay up extremely late to finish up videos. Similarly, doing weekly content and quests also takes a lot longer than doing 2-3 dungeons and is often times the hardest thing to edit through with my process as it is right now. Hopefully with this insight the changes I'm making in the series' don't come off as me wanting to be lazy or just ignoring people's preferences. It's simply that I don't have enough hours in a day to do this without completely dedication _all_ of my free time to UA-cam, which I tried before and was horrible for my mental health, hence the thinning down from daily hour+ long episodes of the Paladin series to the now often shorter 3-days-a-week video schedule. Again, thanks so much for caring, it really means a lot (:
I main frost mage, but i tried out fire once or twice this season (sucked at it, went back to frost) but i am pretty sure combustion stacks on top of SKB, right? or vice-versa.
Just a note: using meteor in combustion is NOT a mistake. It’s a damage gain cause it’s basically a super amped flame strike. You always want to guarantee the crit with it and it’s worth losing a gcd/skb stack in combustion for. Something you can do if the pack is already gathered is meteor right before you combust. If you pop combustion before the meteor actually lands it will guarantee the crit and not waste a gcd. Otherwise it’s still correct to send meteor in combustion. You even want to save meteor until you’re inside of combustion or skb just to guarantee the crit. Note you can’t precast meteor for skb because the pyro/flame strike hard cast is too long.
Thanks for that tidbit! I'm mostly annoyed about always having Meteor ready before I even use Combustion and still ending up using it inside Combustion. In that case, I can save the global by using it before Combustion. That's what I'm annoyed about and keep waffling about. :D
I can feel your struggle, even with the commentating I think fire is a heck of a complicated DPS spec to play (maybe less then arcane still) but keep it up bc the video was very interesting!
It requires constant attention, at the same level as Enhancement Shaman in Storm Build, but the decision making process is a lot more complex than there and there's buffs to build up, consume and plan out. It's definitely the most complex DPS spec I've ever played at end game, that's for sure. I'm just hoping I get good enough at it to make it to 3k!
Hey man, I play fire. I just wanted to say I love this series. I'm glad you want to learn things on your own. You're a quick learner. Good luck with the rest of the series! Can't wait to watch it! Pew pew ❤
Yes, but I should use it before I use combustion, so I can spend all my globals inside combustion building SKB stacks. Meteor doesn't contribute to Hot Streaks
Great video. Can you make a guide on gearing up at 70 btw? Lots of good info in the videos where you do reach 70, but a 10-15 min one where you quickly go through the fastest way to gear up would give new players who find your channel a place to look for it all since you go from leveling greens to 430+ crazy quick.if there's a difference between alts and actually new player, maybe split the video and so on.
I unfortunately don't really have the time to make guide videos, but I'll try and add a quick guide on how I geared Iverem after hitting 70 as part of the next video. I'll write it out here in case I decide not to put it in the video: 1. Grind 360-390 (depends if you use 1 or 2 weapon slots) Whelpling's Dreaming Crests in the Dreamsurge event by flying around and collecting the little green balls 2. Buy 12-13 Nascent Whelpling's Dreaming Crests from the enchanting supplies NPC in Valdrakken 3. Use Work Orders to get 12-13 Enchanted Whelpling's Dreaming Crests crafted 4. Use Work Orders to get 12-13 pieces of gear (can't craft trinkets and can only craft 1 ring) crafted, specifically the Rare quality level 70 gear, while making sure you add the Enchanted Whelpling's Dreaming Crest as an optional ingredient You can also add Draconic Missives to specify which stats you want. Crafting these at rank 5 quality will get you 447 item level gear, but might be a little annoying to find people that can/want to craft these for you at max quality. In total this should set you back about 15-20k gold if you're paying 1k gold per item crafted, something any freshly leveled character could have unless they went from 60-70 with Timewalking, which doesn't award any gold, only the badge currency for Timewalking. Questing or doing Normal Dragonflight dungeons will give enough gold to do this, especially if you find a cheap crafter.
It's a plugin for ready checking, as it shows food and flasks, I forget the exact name of the plugin. I got it by default when I installed Details. If you're in a party, a checkmark appears that you can hover over to see that info.
Aaah, gotcha, I was operating under the assumption that they charge the one that's furthest away, like the Arcane Orb in Everbloom. Thanks for the info!
Most high end fire mages run double crafted rings. so getting those out of the way even if only 463 is bunch of extra stats. Same for wrists. the mats to re-craft are pretty cheap as well.
I should really play fire, currently arcane but it’s a bit too complicated… great video as always tho! Just wondering when Danie is gonna boost you to 3k rio?
I haven't bothered with Arcane, but if you're looking for an easy time, Fire is no cake walk. :D If you mean the mage, she isn't, if you mean when the couple to 3k series is gonna happen, it's after the mage series most likely. (:
Every time I went into a mythic plus during this challenge I would have an internal monologue going on shouting at me for the fact I COULD have picked Arcane or Frost but nooooooo it had to be fire didnt it
@@Definitely_Not_Vladwhat seems to happen with me is once a week I will be at work and get it in my head that I should really be able to play fire for higher keys ... I come home change spec and sort all my gear out and within 2 mythic plus I've gone back to frost with my tail between my legs lop
Dont know if you did it or not i am not so precise but you should be able to cast fireblast during your shifting power cast in combustion. But like i said not sure if you knew or not. But the Videos are entertaining and it´s nice to see that everyone has kind of a struggle at the start. keep it up

Figured that out earlier today while I was grinding crests and more gear, rewatching the video just now made me feel like an idiot saying that :D
Its not cause its the same time (scorch is still faster iirc) but because its smaller than a gcd you can’t do the double pyro trick in combustion.
