Man it’s so sick I remember in a video a couple years back you sat there with your journal next to the campfire talking about your goals in life and where you’re thinking about taking this channel. Amazing to witness you making it happen.
do you remember which video it was? i want to see it
Good Lad. Quite a few videos ago, I decided to take the plunge. You inspired me so much with your talks, and I'm an old man. 12 weeks Sober Today! Loving it. Thanks for sharing.
Yoo that's so awesome to hear!! Great work congratulations on the 12 weeks that's huge
I couldn't stop smiling as you entered Arizona, because I knew you would soon see such indescribably beautiful scenery! Suddenly the sky becomes bigger than you ever could imagine, miles upon miles with nary an electric wire in sight, and the crazy boulders that had to be stacked like marbles by God ~ there's no obvious reason they landed there! I hope Max can stay with you on this awesome journey!! But beware all those snattlerakes! Yikes!
I'll admit that I put off watching this for a while. I was worried about the change of direction from canoeing and "normal" camping. However, I was totally wrong, and I all of a sudden have this weird urge to drive my truck all the way to Mexico! You've inspired so many people to explore the outdoors. Keep doing what you're doing!
Man you’re one brave soul staying in New Mexico in a place like that. As someone who’s moved far away from NM I’m glad you enjoyed the scenery because that’s the only thing I miss.
why is that? is it a place to get robbed at?
@@flush_entity The state of NM has the second highest violent crime rate in the USA.
@@lapukas what is the first?
@@flush_entity Alaska
@@jake.sherman Got to stay strapped in NM/
Your videos help make me value nature so much more. I’ve been struggling with staying sober recently and your videos make me want to put the bottle down and make a much needed change. I admire what you’ve overcome. Thank you for continuing to make these videos. I struggle doing things alone, snd your videos make me feel more comfortable with genuinely getting to know myself and travel. I live in a very small town in west Tennessee, it’s hard to find motivation, but your channel helps a lot with that. Thank you for your uploads, I hope they cope with others as much as they have with me.
I don’t know you but I know the struggles of staying sober. You are amazing, capable, strong and you can do anything you put your mind to! And my fav quote which helps me everyday: even if we make mistakes, we can try to make things right and thats what matters: trying :))
@@emese_p thank you. Opening that up this morning gave me a boost. I wish you and everyone that reads this nothing but blessings. Don’t let anyone break your kindness.
Got Doug DeMuro vibes when you were showing us the quirks and features of your 4-Runner 😂. Awesome video as always, although it was a little strange not seeing you in the wilderness, chopping wood and building awesome fires 🙌
I can not tell you how much you and what you do, mean to me. You & Max are remarkable young men who do remarkable things and do so with class, dignity and with a whole Mess 'O Fun!
Keep On Truckin' brother. You make this 64 year old Canadian boy from Montreal, proud!
Awesome 3rd gen Xander! make sure to change the lower ball joint if they havent been replaced. Those always gives up on the 3rd gen 4 runner. for your safety, id replace em right away with OEM ones. cheers!
I’ve been waiting for this trip for forever! Already had me dying at the ignition 😂
Gonna be a great one! Thanks Xander! 🔥
I've spent a lot of time living in 4runners, they're amazing. I had a 3rd gen too, now I've got a 4th gen V8 for towing. You've got a great vehicle. The rear bumper might have been left off to make the departure angle match the approach angle, which can be an issue for serious off road driving, that and the bumper definitely rusted right off. Try removing the front passenger seat completely, folding down the rear seat backs, and removing the rear seat cushions. Put a sheet of plywood straight on the floor with no frame, and fill the spaces underneath it with gear. Then you can sit up in bed without hitting your head, and lean back on the dash with some pillows, you'll love it. It's much more spacious that way with no raised bed or front seat.
hmm very cool
Indeed and agree especially with a long stay in the US. Make it comfortable and utilize the space, not tight and cramp.
This video feels like rain during a drought! So grateful for this episode 🙏
Deadass yelled when the notification popped up
Literally same though
I was hoping Steve Wallis would be stealth camping in the abandoned gas station! Happy to see you back Xander!
Steve Wallis isn't that crazy.
I was thinking the same thing!
Maybe in a couple weeks Steve will post a video of him hiding from Xander in a gas station
I too seen this upload and thought it was a Camping with Steve video lol
I swear hes camped at an abandoned gas station before...i thought this was the same one lol
Xander's one-of-a-kind spirit continues to color the world of travel with his idiosyncratic charm. May your journey be filled with wisdom and a touch of whimsy as you conquer the ever-diverse world that awaits you!
Always a good day when Xander uploads!
It’s crazy how much your channel has grown man been watching for almost 3 years keep up these amazing videos as always 🙏
Doug Demuro would definitely be proud of the “quirks and features” demonstration.
Haha, glad someone else felt that DeMuro vibe 😂👍
I did a similar trip last year from New Brunswick, Canada to California and back. Spent 4 months on the road and fell in love with the southwest. Really the best place in North America to live in your car in my opinion. AZ, NM, CA, UT- all amazing places that id love to go back to one day.
I’m thankful to be an American because I get to explore a vast landscape. I want to see you learn how to surf! I’m from Michigan and I’ve been surfing the Great Lake my whole life. It would be amazing to see you learn to surf and camp in remote spots.
I really appreciate the level of chill you bring to your videos. I wish i had the resources to do the kind of stuff you do
Been looking forward to this for so long! 🇬🇧
Reminds me of my late fathers first car I have memory of, just yours is a few years newer. Good memories with the vehicle. Had the same green lighting in the interior, sounded like what might happen if a tank and a tractor had a child after the exhaust had broke off.
One day I will go on a trip with Xander. Mark my words
Why is it so important?
Don’t stress too much about that joint. It’s kinda complicated to repair but a good shop should be able to get you going with only 2 u joints. It’s a double cardan joint. I would definitely recommend getting the driveshaft balanced when it’s all done. Search for a “driveshaft shop” in your area and they’ll get ya fixed up. Or if you’re ever in Pennsylvania I’ll hook you up 🤘
Boa noite Xander!!! Mais uma vivência top, parabéns malucoooooo!!!!
So stoked about this video series, Xander. In true Newfoundland fashion I've been looking at flurries, drizzle, rain, fog, and overcast skies for the whole of April -- it's been getting me down, honestly. This video helped transmute my wanderlust into motivation to get back out regardless of the weather.
Thanks for all you do.
I did this trip last April for 21 days starting in Burlington On. Started off snowboarding in Colorado then mountain biking in Utah and Arizona. Sedona is magical to say the least.
One of my favorite parts of living in Utah was driving 19 hours to visit a friend in Phoenix, incredible drive through southern Utah/ northern Arizona. Glad you got to experience it. Sometimes I miss it.
I love this kind of stuff, genuine excitement is gold
I went to Arizona and New Mexico for a week in November. It’s beautiful and reminds you just how vast nature is
Thankfully we discovered Northern Scavengers during your absence (AMAZING!). But we're more than ready for some Xander videos!
Bro your creativity is fucking unmatched. It’s actually insane going from your early stuff to now and seeing the growth while never losing the pureness we all enjoy. You’re a legend, beautician, all of the above haha keep killin it
I watched a lot of camping channels but ur simply the best one.
Awesome trip xander scenic pics are stunning and Toyota are great cars be safe and take care have a great time 👍👌🔥🔥❤️🙏
Welcome to Az! I’ve been watching for over 2 years and I camp out through your videos. I’ve never been camping. Too busy but I’ve backpacked through Europe. From Amsterdam to Barcelona and back up to Paris. Thank you for all the great videos. May you always be blessed. 🤙🏼
Yesss!! the man, the myth, the LEGEND RETURNS! enjoy America man✌️ Love the old 4runner too!
My parents had a 98 4runner limited when I was a kid. I loved that thing... they aged like a fine wine.
Ah makes me so happy. I live just off of the Superstition Mountains in mesa and out of no where my favorite UA-camr from Canada drives randomly to where I’m at. Love you Xander keep doing this
your videos make me feel happy. I get to live some of my own adventure goals/dreams through you. Please never stop, your adventures become my mine too!
the sound design in your videos is so satisfying to listen to
I love the part with your dad and how he was helped make you over come your fears to be the smart leveled-headed man you are today! GOD bless all Fathers out there and God bless Xander😊 Thanks for your Content brother
Awesome Xander !! Quite A Drive. Can’t Wait To Watch The Whole Series.
It was definitely cool recognizing the scenery in Oklahoma/Texas/NM. I’ve driven that route myself. New Mexico is hauntingly beautiful.
Finally, a realistic cheap, no nonsense, use what you got road trip! Thanks!
Xander you are honestly my favourite UA-camr, nothing excites me more than see you have posted. What you said about fear is so true something I really need implement in my life. Thank you for making such great content
Xander gots him a HoRunner! Low miles one to boot! Take care of that and she will last you a very long time. Mine is an 02, when I got it, the next week I took it on a trip like yours, she still runs great! Welcome to AZ, my canoehead brother! Enjoy the jewel of America!
The sunrise in new Mexico is probably one of the most awesome inspiring sight I have ever seen. It's like the entire sky lights on fire.
I have a 1999 4runner, absolutly love it. One of the best cars Ive ever owned
Out of the cold and into the desert, very nice. No matter where your adventures take you, or how you get there, I'm a fan! Cheers.
It always amazes me how big the sky looks out west. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Awesome 4x4 man! Would look sick if you made a custom baja style bullbar for it considering there's no bumper. Chuck some fender flares on there to protect the paint on the side of your 4runner.
Loved it 👍🏻
Good to see my old stomping grounds.
This is so awesome! The scenery, your truck enhancements (Macgiver style) and your contagious excitement make for a winner video. Thanks for sharing, Xander. You're the best thing on UA-cam!
Great video Xander! Loved the Doug DeMuro bit showing all the quirks and features.
Best road trip I’ve seen on UA-cam love this channel 🙌🏻🙌🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😊
X! AWESOME!
Loved the "teaser" clip." Keep on truck'in!" 😂❤
Just saw the new vlog dropped. Awesome to see you're back mate. Sooo looking forward to new adventures. Take care always...❤
What an awesome start to this journey. Glad you're taking us with you man!
It's awesome seeing my favorite Canadian UA-camr venturing to and enjoying the area I've called home my whole life. Stoked to see the remaining episodes of this trip. Cheers, Xander!
Also, shout out to the Peralta trail in the Supes 😁 love that trail
Good to have you back, excited to see the content coming! Enjoy it kid!
Awesome buddy, you're SUCH a great storyteller. Looking fwd to what's coming!
I thought that was an awesome roadtrip without the canoe or sled or snowshoe....very beautifully presented...thank you much
By far, one of the best videos i've ever seen!! Keep it up brother!
Please don’t stop making content. Pure. Simple. Funny - thats true!! God bless you on a road!!!
Xander this is the second time watching your video ... I had to watch the first time on my big screen TV... so glad you are back with videos and this was AWESOME ... new key fir the 4runner
Absolutely awesome seeing your new video and can't wait for the next installment. Please keep making videos cause they're uplifting and means a lot to those of us that can't do it. Big hug, stay safe. ❤❤ May God always protect and guide you.
The 3rd gen 4runner is a great vehicle. A few major issues that can be remedied with new parts. Get new factory toyota front lower ball joints, get a new radiator(oem or denso), and just do overall maintenance to keep it going for over 500,0000 miles.
That gas station was the most scary place I've ever seen you sleep. Keep exploring. Cheers
Any trip to somewhere with a view like that is worth watching Enjoy your time with your family
Fireman 🔥🔥🔥
Hey Xander, been following your channel since 2021 and haven’t commented in a while. Just wanted to say you inspired me to get sober and I couldn’t be more grateful for your content. Keep it up!

And down to earth you just get up
And go

Thank you Xander for the reminder of the same drive I did from Toronto to Snowflake Az a bunch of years ago! I think I’ve been there 4 or 5 times; it’s such a beautiful country. Can’t thank you enough for this experience! Looking forward to the next ones!
Great adventure Xander, can’t wait to see the remainder of your journey, stay safe ❤
Saw the 4runner, left a like immediately. Keep up the content. Your work is an art.
Thanks for the great video, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip!
Jaw dropped with that night sky picture. I wanna do this drive some day.

Missed ya bud! Happy you're back. Hope you enjoyed your time with family.
Super great message from you and lesson from your Dad about fear. All the best Xander!
Seeing you camp in my home state, makes me want to go camping so bad! Keep up the great videos!
You're truly, honestly so amazing and wholesome.
Thank you for sharing content like this with us.
I actually enjoyed this change up. Great content. Keep it up man.
Fantastic!!! This is going to be a killer series I’m sure.
I love road tripping. I have a 2014 Tundra with a full ARE hard cap on the 6.5 foot bed. The longest trip I’ve done so far was from Raleigh, North Carolina through Nebraska out to Laramie, Wyoming and then down into Colorado then back up to Nebraska and then back to N.C.
I can’t wait to see what adventures you get up to.
About time you showed back up!! Been waiting and waiting... However always worth it! Way cool that you're doing this. Reminds me of me and I'm sure lots of others too. Here's to all the road trippers...Past, Present & Furture. Have fun man!
Awesome video, thanks Xander I've been missing your vids! All the best, Martin
Great to see you back on the adventure trail …. paved and all as it is 😅 👍
Beautiful highway for your route. Sedona is beautiful! Lots of things to do and see and close enough to the Grand Canyon to get that in while you're there. Be safe and I look forward to your adventures on this trip.
